Ulrich waited until he was certain Lore would have a good position, then notched his own arrow and took careful aim.
On three, he thought, concentrating and pulling back his bowstring.
One ...
Two ...
Three! He loosed his arrow, and it slipped through the trees and hit its target - the fat pheasant that was nearest him.

Lore listened, he was use to this method though he'd admit it was weird hearing it in his head, as he pulled back and let loose the arrow on three. It flew through the air, aimed at another pheasant that seemed good and fat. There was a thud as the arrow hit, and he looked to see how it had faired.

As the pheasants that were still unharmed started screeching and fled from the area, Ulrich slipped fluidly from the trees to stop the two that had been hit from escaping. The one was already dead, but the other kept stumbling as it tried to run away - Ulrich scooped it up and broke its neck, putting it out of its misery.
Then he plucked the arrows from the dead ones and tucked the birds under his arm, smiling self-satisfactorily. His eyes scanned the treeline for Lore.

Lore stood up so he could be seen before making his way over to Ulrich. Everything in his mental vision was normal now that the rush was over with.

Ulrich grinned at Lore boyishly and held up the pheasants. "Good job," he nodded. "Shall we head back, then? We might have them ready by the time lunch is ready ... if we're lucky."
Himself, he wouldn't be eating until the birds were properly plucked and gutted, though he wouldn't mind if Lore just headed straight for lunch when they got back; he was used to preparing the birds himself anyways, and he knew it wasn't everyone's favourite job.

"Should," Lore smiled back, it was a good hunt, "They're not going to pluck themselves after all."
He couldn't remember the last time he plucked and gutted a fowl, he did that more with fish, and it had been a while.

Ulrich chuckled. "Now wouldn't that be a neat trick," he laughed, starting back home. He tucked a pheasant under each arm and moved along silently, his expression thoughtful.

Lore chuckled following Ulrich, he wondered how everyone else was doing and if the girls were up at all.

When they finally reached the houses once more, Ulrich looked to Lore.
"If you want, you can head on in," he told the other with a nod. "I can handle the cleaning and such, it won't take me very long."
Indeed, after so many centuries of doing the very same thing, he was sure he could do it blind (though he didn't want to test it - he rather enjoyed being able to see).

"Are you sure?" Lore inquired, for he was sure it would be quicker done with help.
Even though Ulrich said it wouldn't take him long.

"Aye, go right ahead," Ulrich grinned. "I'm used to doing it alone, anyways, I'd just get confused with help."

Lore nodded slowly, "Okay then," he replied before heading into the house.
He didn't know what to expect once he entered, since he didn't know what everyone else was up to.

All six of Elnara's children were in the living room, playing at various activities. When the door opened, Idhril looked up and broke into a huge grin, and ran towards the door, arms outstretched, squealing, "Papa! Papa! Look what I made!"
She latched onto his leg and grinned up at him, wide eyes sparkling with energy, and put one hand to her hair where she was wearing a wreath of flowers - the same tri-coloured blossoms that were found so commonly in the area.

Lore stumbled a bit with the additional weight, but looked down to smile at the cute little image that Idhril made. She looked like a little flower princess... or maybe a fae she was certainly small enough to be one he thought.
"That's very pretty Idhril," he commented softly.

Idhril giggled and put her arms up to him, then went up on her tiptoes to make herself taller. "Up, Papa!" she begged, opening her eyes as wide as they could go. "Pick me up! Please?"
She opened and closed her fingers, reaching up as far as she could to him.
