"Malevolent force..yes, you would think that." Eilynne glanced around and shook her head. "You would be wrong but that is still a very good guess. You have not even the slightest idea what I was looking for and if I were to tell you it woud merely cause problems. Thus I will refrain. I would very much appreciate it if you would not presume to know what I was doing. If I tell you no, there is a reason for it." She watched him and shook her head. "Before you attempt and are proven blatantly wrong, I feel the need to tell you that doing so will get you nowhere. Your ship will not move in anyway no matter what you do to that model." Just to demonstrate she lifted the ship and moved it along. "It is not a shard."

But she took the list from Savryn and then cleared her throat. "Kronos, you and Hunter will get these items together. You both will come back alive and you will not harm a hair on each other's heads or the consequences will be very severe. Make sure you get everything on the list as well. It is very important that you take care of the duties assigned to you regardless of personal dislike or distrust. Trust is a key component of this party and you will need to engender it within yourselves. Savyrn, Shyrae, if you would like to accompany them, you may but they must obtain the items themselves."

Kronos this time really cocked an eyebrow and shot a glance over at Hunter. "I have to work....with that....with that filthy pirate?" he said in a semi-growl of a voice. Kronos didn't like pirates, in fact he'd sooner kill one then work with him. Kronos sighed rubbing hard at his temples. "Tis the cruel hand of fate at work here, methinks." he commented with a slightly annoyed chuckle. "I'll do it, and I won't harm a hair on the pirate's head, if that's what I have to do. Just don't expect to like it." he grumbled. As he made his way over and looked over the list, shooting a glance at Savvy. "You not playing around are you, this is some pretty powerful stuff, are you sure you want us back alive?" he said as he once more looked over the list.

"As to your question about since when can humans sense malevolence, it's not that hard of a task once you've seen what real evil feels like." he said his voice trailing of into the chasm of his own memories for a short moment. He then glanced and Hunter once more. "Well you heard the woman pirate, we got some shopping to do. Or is the big, nasty, pirate shaking in his boots?" Kronos snickered.

"I've killed me for lesser comments than that. and no one commands me, boy. I'm only agreeing to this because I've a pact with the dragon-kin. otherwise you'd be feeding the sandworms."

a glance back at the little girl.

"Well. the theory is still unproven then, if that's not a shard of that relic. perhaps those that you took form me before might do what I think. couldn't hurt to try."

holding his hand out for the list, with a smirk to Savvy.

"Told you that I'd get you on my ship. one way or another."

How cute, the little whatever it was, was going to send the men to do her arrands. How nice. But then she wrinkled her nose at the sudden words that were being flung about. "You human can poor so much flith from your mouths about each others, it's not wonder you don't all tend to live long." Shaking her head lightly, bah humans. Turn of her head to Kronos. "What? So it's a bit of blood and unsavory things along with things that you humans seem to think quite the show. Just get them." Tilting her head back to Hunter, giving a snicker. "Don't make me rot your feet from the rest of you at the ankles or maybe I'll rot off something you'd really miss. How about you just get going? And I expect you to have a suitible room for me on this thing." Demanding at times...hm, no wonder where she got that.

Lycear gave his own sigh and rolled his eyes. Well, seemed the Lady Eilynne would have no problem commanding those that she apparently was choosing from around her. Wonder what motive she had behind her choices, though it was not his place to ponder such things. A look to the two humans. "Need I remind you both that while in my city you will remain civil...the sands are yours to quarrel in."

Oh look, her ingenious gene was kicking in again. Useful, as always. Nodding and taking the device in his hands, he held it up to the mural so that they could both see better with the glow of the flame. "I don't know... Over here, it looks like they are in a group, huddled around something. Perhaps a fire?" Time and the sand storms had eroded away much of the intricate details, he couldn't even make out half the runes carved into the rock. Hardly anything made sense. Turning back to her, he moved the candle towards where she was pointing and saw that there was indeed a carving of one of their kind. "I think it's a dragonness. She's pretty, like you." Except the one in the mural had long flowing skirts, by the looks of it.

A slight bow to the Dragon. "My apologies Dragon lord, I meant no disrespect to your city." he said turning once more to Hunter, giving him the list, as the young pirate snickered and dared to call him a boy. "I'm 33 years old pirate, I stop being a boy a while ago." he snickered. Turning towards Savvy, he spoke. "Yes, we are filthy creatures m'lady, but better to fight with words then with sharpened steel." he answered back.

"Let me make one thing perfectly clear, I shall not raise my sword to him, but if he dares to raise it first I will bury him in the sands." he said as he made his way out of the cabin. "When all is ready for our departure I shall be waiting outside" he said. Kronos could not help but feel his blood boiling, Hunter a pirate, in this only for personal gain. What did a creature like him understand of honor and duty?

As Kronos father had told him once. The only good pirate is a dead one.

"Wonder how old this place really is...no one sees Laerethe anymore after all as we haven't since you and I have been around. Hasn't it been a long time since your father even saw them?" Tilting her head sideways to look at the mural in a different perspective, digging some dirt out of a crevice with a fingernail. Like some dragon-folk, she preferred hands in the human form...especially what with all the map making and gadget fiddling.

Though a blink and then a smile at his little compliment. "You think? Hm..." It was almost amazing how he said such things so casually and off handishly. A male who could compliment without making it a pick up line that was just nasty. Wasn't that great? Brushing her fingers over the carving before giving a melodic laugh. "I bet she wasn't clumsy like me." Shrugging lightly and standing back straight. "You don't see things like this in Ilindal too much."

He nodded and moved a bit further along, keeping the light centered somewhat between them. "He hasn't seen one in centuries either. The books say they aren't very sociable creatures. They could have lived out here for many years without ever being discovered. After all, Ilindal didn't start sending Guard parties out until the Orb disappeared." But he turned slightly at her question and scrutinized the dragoness carving again. "She's standing on some sort of stage... Perhaps giving a speech? You can't tell if one is clumsy if they're only standing." She was right though, Ilindal was a center of technological and social development. They moved forwards in time, not backwards.

"I've been told I stand like I'm about to fall over sometimes." Didn't help the self esteem, but she always tried not to pay too much attention to such things said about her anyway. She was just an off center dragon was all..or that was what she was telling herself. She moved away from the mural and light source for the time being, circling around the aparent alter of the place, checking it over. There was a large book sitting on it, runes gracing the pages like on the wall. Wasn't dragon or elven though. Probably Laerethe. Carefully she flipped a page, stirring a bit of dust and sand which she fanned out of her face with her hand, giving a cough. "I'll make sure I give you a map to get here...so you can come anytime you want."

"So let me get this straight. You will give that piece of chocolate cake, if I take you to this location," He held up an image of some place he couldn't even begin to comprehend. "Are you kidding me?" He leaned across the tavern table to look the men who picked Xaeus off the street. "How do I know when we get there, you wont try to take back the cake, or drop it on the ground. I don't know how many times people wasted good cake like that thinking that I was a big pushover because I'll happly do anything for a sweet, delicious, multilawyered chocolate cake with sweetened icing and chocolate f..." He was staring at the cake rather lustfully.

"You have my word, elf wizard." The reptilian-like dragonkin replied.

"Why would we want to sabbotage such a profitable friendship? Think, what some wizards charge for the same services-"

"Shut up." The dragonkin hit the other, shorter, member of their small organization. "Useless details remain unspoken."

"Useless?" Xaeus responded, but distinctly had the feeling he was being used. He put his hand on his chin. "As long as I get the cake, I'll do it. But be warned. Its a one time deal. If you want more favours, you need to provide more cake."

"Agreed. Here is your cake. Take us now." The dragonkin said gruffly. His deep, masculine voice seemed very vulger to Xaeus. For some reason, it gave him a bad feeling. But, the prospect of free cake was always good. Thus, without much more spoken, Xaeus walked around the table, placed a hand on both party members, and transported them to the location which specifically matched the image. "Now take your cake."

Xaeus made a strange, child-like, sound as he took the plate with the cake on it. From a pouch on his side, he removed a small fork. He sat down on a nearby rock, and started eating the cake slowly.

Giving her a rather serious look for a moment. "People say that but they've never seen it. If you fall, I will catch you." Well, if he was nearby. He didn't understand the purpose of rumors in any case. They were untruths 90% of the time and he hated it when his guards let them slip from their tongues, even during boring shifts it was untolerable. "A map would be much appreciated. It would be nice to come here and investigate more when I'm off duty. We've only seen a temple so far, but what if there was an entire city laid out under this sand?" Moving towards her, he took examined the old text, fanning the lingering sand out of the way. "Would there be a good way to transport this back to the city? I'm interested in what the scholars would have to say."

Eilynne glanced between Hunter and Kronos and shook her head. "Things will be rather interesting here for a while. All will simmer in due time." She pulled out the shard and shook her head at Hunter. "That is not for you to worry about, human. Go and do as you were told."

Shyrae glanced between Kronos and Hunter and wondered if perhaps she should go along with them. She glanced at Savvy for a moment and tucked a strand of hair behind her ear. "Do you really think it's a good idea for them to go alone?" Or maybe she should just sit back and stay quiet.

"And I've killed younger and stronger..and older and wiser."

looking over the list, a small smirk.

"so...you want these fresh, or stored someplace? and there's a cabin below decks...spacious enough I think for you. like I said before, feminine needs are not unknown to me..so I do accomodate. though I'm not sure how spacious it'll be with others present...after all, this is a ship, not a hotel."

Kronos bury him? hardly. strength and power were all fine and dandy...but tactics won a fight. and Hunter had plenty of tricks and routes to get through another person in blood or guile.

"well...this will be fun."

taking his own leave of the general assembly, giving a moment to his bosun, first mate and master-at-arms. had to let them know what was going on, and why, and what they might expect. once that little meeting was done...into the city with him.

"Here boy! you might as well stay in sight before you get lost and left behind..wouldn't that be a shame."
PostPosted: Sun May 20, 2007 7:07 pm

Another look to him and a smile. "Nice to know someone would. Falling begins to hurt after a while when you're always crashing into things." Watching him wander over to join her at the text. "Bet with the right drive, you could get it more uncovered too. Sand is easy enough to move." Before tilting her head at the book a moment and then snapping her fingers. Reaching under the hem of her top, she pulled the knot of the wrap around her waist over her pants, letting the cloth fall away. Gently closing the text gently, she placed the lavendar piece of cloth on it and then went about gently wrapping the dirty thing up, tying a secure knot of the fabric. "There, that should do it. Should be no problem flying back to the city with it now." Had to love a girl who wasn't afraid to get herself or her things dirty.

"Store them but keep them fresh as possible if you would Captain." She'd have to make due with cabin accomodations somewhat. Savryn turned her attention to her friend before turning and starting from the cabin, motioning her friend to follow. "Let them go. Maybe they'll get things out of thier system. Do you honestly want to hear them bickering the entire time we're going to be on this boat? We need to get our things and anything else we're going to need to take with us."

Lycear nodded to Hunter and Kronos. "Very well. If you'll excuse me, I have a city to settle." Thus padding out, knowing Eilynne was probably following. "Everyone please be ready as soon as possible, we'll all meet back on deck in oh...and hour." Thus himself heading off the ship. He had some intense orders to give out and make sure his son was going to have all that he needed. A look to the Laerethe. "You trust those you are choosing Lady Eilynne?"

Kronos did not move from the spot in which he stood. "You will not give me order Hunter, do you understand that much? I offer assistance only because it is to serve the needs of this city. I know this city better then you, I was born and raised in the sea of sand, I am far from the pup you perceive me to be. It is you who should worry about being left in the dust." he smirked.
