Blind and deaf except when I have visions, human I maybe, but I'm from Gaia, and so.. when I was human was a seer and still am since visions seem to like to hit me between the proverbial eyes in times of trouble.
Daemon replied cheerifully.

Handy, Serenity smiled inwardly. Though it really didn't prevent you from getting stuck in that sword ... so how reliable can you claim it to be? Ninety percent? Ninety-five? That's still not one hundred, so don't rely on it entirely. Don't let Gion grow dependent on you, he needs to watch on his own as well.
She didn't mean to make it sound like she didn't trust Daemon, it was just that her motherly instincts were taking over, and her logic was following it.

Well... I would put it this way... getting stuck in a sword is infitedly better since techically I had predicted my own death and thought to go ahead anyways.
Daemon replied back thoughtfully.
Just because you can see the future doesn't mean you purposely would choose the better outcome. Gion was a great fighter before I came along, I trust him to be fine for the most part.

Serenity lowered her head to rest on her paws. I'm sorry, she thought to him, and if she had been in her true form she would have been blushing. I meant nothing by that ... I just worry about him ... I still see him as the six-year-old I left so long ago ... and now he's all grown up ...
She sighed inwardly. Not going to cry, she promised herself. Not that she really could as a moor cat ...

There's nothing to be sorry about, you're a mother it's what mothers do.
Daemon replied remembering his own and whincing... he loved his mother... his mother had issues though.
Just try not to treat him too much of a child... he won't like it.. he gets that enough with his height from what my understanding is. I think if the issue with Elnara hadn't come up he wouldn't have been allowed to travel as he had been.

Serenity emitted a soft laugh through her mind. It's hard not to, she told Daemon seriously. Physically, he has hardly changed since I last saw him ... and he was only a child then. But I'll try not to treat him like that ... give me warnings when I do, will you? she requested politely.

I'll certainly try.
Daemon paused.
Are children really five foot by that age? I'm curious because even though that size is short even by human standards, it could be considerably worse, but elves are quite tall here by nature so it's hard to judge.

By six years? Sometimes, Serenity affirmed. Though I do admit that it's rare ... but four feet eight at least, at six years of age. Gion would be ... by the Valar, he's got to be eighteen by now ... and yes he should then be seven feet tall or more ... but he was always a slow grower ...
And, not for the first time, she wondered why.
But if he doesn't let it bother him and doesn't count it as a handicap, then he'll be fine, she went on. And if he does see it as one, and he can overcome it, then it will only serve to make him stronger. Isn't that right?
She wondered which way he saw it.

The thing the main problem is....
Daemon replied slowly and carefully.
Is more how other people view it, he is bright, a scholar and though some might not agree with his compassion it would make him an ideal dipolmat... however.... Daemon would seem to give the impression that he was shrugging.
No one takes him seriously because of his size, for someone who does not have a voice he is even made more voiceless because of his height. Couple that with his voicelessness and his compassion, and if people do not take him for the abilities he has he is going to end up feeling useless.

If he's anything like his father, he'll overcome it, Serenity thought, smiling inwardly. Garrick had to fight hard to overcome his obstacles, I'm sure Gion will do the same.
At least she hoped.

I'm sure he will.
Daemon agreed.
Or at least get into several arguements along the way, I can't see that not happening.

If he can communicate with other people, Serenity reminded him. After all those who know sign language are few and far between, and to be quite honest I don't think it would be a good idea for Gion to show you to everyone ... the sword is quite beautiful, and having a sword that can talk to you and help you would be quite ... well, let's just say that there are many people, even among elves, who wouldn't be beyond stealing.
She sighed inwardly. I know it's not my place to say, but just a word of advice ... don't talk to anyone but Gion or myself, or Ulani or Ulrich. If no one wanted to steal you they would at least try to do something to ... er ... 'cleanse' you ... like melt you down or something ...

I certainly hope they wouldn't! Besides the fact I don't know the outcome of melting down a sealed sword, this isn't my sword.
Daemon replied back thinking about his spirit wife as she was now.

Well some might, Serenity replied seriously. Magical objects are not common is this land at all, and despite the fact that all elves have magic at their disposal, the idea that there are magicks that they may not have control over frightens them. As does any magic that they haven't seen before - such as you and I.

Magick is another part of nature... unless you want to do the impossible and control nature.
Daemon repleid back thinking that these kind of elves were a bit daff.
Though I know what you mean....
