I use description. Each word that I type is designed to help to make the illusion complete for myself and my virtual partner. I work hard to envision the situation and try to make the scene believable...there's nothing worse than kissing someone's neck and noticing that they've just tilted their head up to brush their lips against yours. I try to anticipate what my partner will write and do a lot of erasing when I'm wrong.
When I'm off-line, I try to be considerate. I e-mail as often as possible and send everything from virtual kisses to vacations. It's little touches like those that help to keep things fresh and exciting.
