We have Band last period. Orchestra is first period; sadly I'm not in Orchestra because it takes up an elective and my high school is trying to deprive me of Flutey experience and other fun things by not giving us enough electives! Damn them all!
I was getting bored with my Flute. I had a mental breakdown.

Band's 5th and 7th for me. 5th is wind ensemble, 7th is jazz band. I liked freshman year, when I had 4th period band, best. We base our lunch on our 4th period class, so freshman year we all got to hang out and eat together. ^^ So much fun.
Next year I'm going to have three band classes a day, because I'm going to take both wind ensemble and concert band, and then jazz band. ^^ And maybe, if I get into jazz 1 and jazz 2 only has one tenor, I might do that, too. So maybe I'll have four! XD All the better for getting into an arts college....
Solo and ensemble is in two weeks... and I just NOW picked my piece. >> I'm such a moron....

RinoaHeartilly Tara~Puget27 Padfoot_Freak yup, band is first thing in the morning. Which is bad becuase I'm not fully awake during first period. I would much rather have it 2nd or 3rd. I use to have band first period but not anymore crying WAHHH! NOW ITS LAST PERIOD!! *dies* What's wrong with that? Band for our high school has always been last block. Everyone seems to like it that way cuz' we can just chill out and not worry about doing anymore work for the rest of the day biggrin It's nice to just come to band class right after lunch and chill. yeah but i have algebra before band. stare i wish i could have it right after lunch but we have 5th period before 6th gonk

Don't feel to badly...Our solo Ensomble is next weekend and our accompanyiasts still haven't practiced, Monique and I are having issuse with the flute part, and we have to score a 2 or better to get our band letters! In one year, I play in a total of seven different bands! Winde Ensomble, Symphonic Band, Jazz Club, Encore! Youth Orchestra, Top of the Nation Honor Band, Coronado Pep Band, The Worlds Most Dangerous Summer Band (it really is! over 200 members and 12 trap set players plus one mallet and one Auxillary), and Holmes Summer Band! Even worse is I play a different instruments in each one!!! W.E.=Mallets, S.B.=French Horn, Jazz=Flute, TNHB=Bells, Pep=Piccolo, WMDSB=Vibes and Xylophone, HSB=several!

My solo enssamble is on March 12, but I don't know if I can't do it. I hope I can.

Woo! I get to be the flute section weirdo today. And I'm "section leader" too. How fun. XD I dyed my hair purple last night 'cause I thought it'd be fun... so now I've got like reddish-purple hair for NO reason. ^^

XD Our BD was sick today; apparently she called the bari player at like 4:00 AM and told him she was dying and to call everyone and let them know jazz band was cancelled. So we had a sub, who apparently is going to be teaching band at a middle school starting next month. I... really don't think he knew quite what to do with us. XDDD When we were ready to warm up as a group, he was like, "So, what's your normal tuning procedure?" and we were like, "We don't have one, we just play scales and figure things out ourselves." So he tuned us by section, and when he got to the flutes he was like, "Who's first chair flute?" and I was like, "We don't HAVE chairs." He didn't quite know what to say to that. But then a couple of the other flutes told him I was "lead" flute. It was pretty funny. XD We're definitely an oddball band, I can see that now.

Yay for Flutes! blaugh I play flute and piano. Used to, at least. Only flute, now. Karu_Chan I am having trouble with VERY high Eb and up, it sound all squeaky and loud. gonk There might be a leak in the keys. Try pressing down harder, or blowing with a more direct ... force... If that makes sense. xd

Gah ><;;; My high school doesn't go by periods anymore. We have 'blocks'. There are four blocks, which are your classes, and each class is an hour and a half long. Band takes up one block, which is a fourth of the day. You keep the same four classes for an entire semester, then get another four for the second semester. We keep band our fourth block all year long though. By the time we graduate we would have spent an entire year of our high school days in nothing but band. Not to even mention all the extra things we have to do like show up for football/basketball games and then the concerts.
