Hoping into his cloakshape, Art fired up his systems. Damn those techs realy ******** my ship up. Art thought as the engine refused to start. Draining his lasers the ran a jump start and the engine finaly came to life. "Hype, you all pluged in?" Geeting a beep in return Art blasted out of the hanger. Fliping the comm over to a private channel so he could talk to his wing, Art said "I'm on my way, calm down. Those stuip techs did something with my engine, had to jump start it with my laser power. Since your the on in the slug-probe, your going to have to be the eyes of this group. You direct me if you pick up any imps and I'll do a sweep. Once the Transports jump we get to leave this rock, so lets make sure they get out of here quick and in one peice."

Gendis smiled a bit. "Acknowledged, Art. They won't know what hit 'em."
As an afterthought, he muttered, "Assuming we even /see/ any action..."

Orrin floated, but being bored, did something unusual: he persued conversation.
"So squirt, besides not talking to your gal, getting the s**t end of the stick for missions, getting blasted for only half a drink, and among other things, leader of a squadron of fighters who want to vape your a** due to a sabotage created by one of them during a simulation, and excluding getting probably some of the best fighters in the fleet, and while slow, are probably better than 98% of everything else out there, How do you like the militaristic rebellion so far?"

"War is War. I hate it. But I hate the Empire even more. I've been around the galaxy more than once for this war and it's terrible. People are dying, their homes ravaged by the Clone Wars, and then ravaged again by the Rebellion. Suffering..everywhere. It's..overwhelming."

Orrin mused on this, and though he expected this answer, he was slightly disappointed that it managed to be the first thing to come up.
"War sucks, true. But peace has its price too. Such as me, for example. I stir up trouble as much as I can, hoping to get myself in trouble. The side effect is usually more people than myself get involved. Why? Because peace is boring, in a sense. And though I'm in this for.... No. I'll stop there. No sense in telling you. You wouldn't fully understand my motives. You may have been around the galaxy, but you never stopped anywhere and observed like I have. You don't understand the complexities which surround this war. You are young, able to rebound. I'm not quite so youthful. My age is catching up to my injuries, and soon enough, I'll be gone. You haven't seen hell like I have. Be thankful. Though I'm an a*****e, I'm not necessarily stupid, or even lack empathy. You just have to experience things. And a virgin mind is not to be spoiled with an old fart's ramblings..."
Orrin sat up in his seat.
"Damn patrol duties. Good thing, no chance of death. Bad thing, no action. How long does it take to evac a base? Damn, tehy were working on it all morning and last night..."

"Yeah..."
Kefka trailed off when his sensors came up with something.
"Hey Ich, i think I have something."
Kefka maneuvered over towards the sensor reading and then stopped. Floating in the vacuum was a piece of compressed garbage.
Kefka veered back on course.
"Who the hell put''s Imperial signals inside trash??"

"Teh people who want to throw the Imps off our trail, perhaps? That's the garbage can. We didn't waste the supplies, and we jettisoned the tracer to give another chance of a decoy..."

"For the sake of not being bored out of my skull, and to give me something else to do, humor me and tell me anyway." Orrin snipped.

"Where isn't the Empire. I mean, every place will eventually be liberated. Its all just a matter of time. Worrying about where and when is only going to make things worse. I don't worry about anything. Even if I lose something, I know it will come back, or I'll get some pleasure beating the s**t out of who took it..."

"YOu don't get it do you? My entire LIFE is on Chandrilla. Unlike you, I have a life."
"I think we're clear to jump by the way."

Zendia smiled and nodded. "Rusty, it looks like we're all clear to get out of dodge!" Flying alongside the starboard side of the transport, she dipped her starboard wing in salute. "Let's go!" she chirped as she pulled aside the levers to jump into hyperspace.
