Joseph Brown Suddenly there would be a good bit of noise near the entrance, not devastating noise but rather get attention noise. If there was a gate loud kicks would be made in place of knocking, and no matter the presence of the gate there would be yelling. "Hello!" It was a man's voice and rather horse, "We need some assistance! Is anyone around!" That man did need some assistance as, ignoring the fact he looked like he was about to pass out from either blood loss or exhaustion, he had numerous injuries and was gritting his teeth through them all. You could still make out a good deal about the man from a distance, tussled muddy red hair, bizarrely squinty eyes, and an open blue coat over a thin darker-skinned frame. The frightening thing was he wasn't the worse for wear out of the "we" he called out of behalf of. Thrown over his shoulders in a supportive lift was a woman who quite frankly looked comatose, critically injured, or maybe even dead. "Hello?" As a foot kicked desperately, stricking against cast iron and echoing through the twilight, A man, standing about six foot, three, with ebony hair tied back in a short ponytail appeared at the gate to the Dark Sakura. He'd been waiting for the arrival, eyes on the road had just sent him a heads up 5 minutes ago. Even now, the Healing center was being prepped for two new patients. The man was dressed in the same garb as Frost, (who was conversing with Rose further up the path) marking him as a member of the resident Guild Guard."Hello stranger, what brings you to our gates? Here-- ughn --- Let me." Unlocking the gate quickly, he would carefully transfer the comatose woman off the injured man's shoulders and into his arms, resting her against his chest.
There was no ill will in his voice, simply earnest inquiry and concern for the injured party. Whatever had done this, may still be following it's prey after all....

She would look at him as he spoke, nodding as she took in the knowledge. She would smile softly. "Older than me, huh? Well maybe... Maybe not... It is a very beautiful and magical place... It makes me feel so... calm. It's all so wonderful..." Rose would sigh and rub her forehead.
Rose's eyes would drift as her mind faded for a moment. She couldn't help but to reflect on her past and the events that lead up to her arrival at Dark Sakura. Her heart ached but she persisted on hiding it. She would look back to Frost and force a smile. "I also have my own reasons I was attracted here... But more importantly, is there anything you can tell me about the people I might meet? I have yet to actually meet the sactuary leader..."

Frost nodded and continued,
"The members here, because many of them share the understanding that they've all undergone similar prejudices and ridicules or torments... it brings many of them together, closer due to a sharing of pain. However, because so many have been betrayed, there are also a good many who prefer to keep to themselves. They generally fall into one of either of those two groups... sometimes though, you get a mixture. The ones that desperately seek companionship, yet have trouble opening up out of fear. Fear of betrayal... or rejection..."
He rubs the back of his head as he stares upward at Featherwind who ruffled her feathers.
"As for the Lady Ethelstan... Sierra is a bit of a mystery herself. She's abroad quite a bit. She tends to do a lot of diplomatic work and she has ties to Leviathan Stadium, not far from the seaport city of Latent... She is always seeking those who need aide and a place of refuge, offering them a home. I know that she used to be a mercenary... a well respected one at that, and although she's no longer a sell-sword, she still aides causes she supports.
She's an elf... but outcast from her people, something to do with being a demonic descendant... dun really know myself. She does have a tail though... which I'll admitt unusual for an elf at any road. I've been told she's not even from Gaia... She's a special one all right. What I do know for fact... is she's the oldest being I've ever been in the presence of."

"Oh? She seems like a nice person... I would love to meet her if it isn't any trouble... She seems like such a good soul... But I bet that she looks far younger than her true age would ever suggest, as is with most beings of such power... But it still makes me nervous... Do you think she would accept me...? I mean... I am not really someone who is in peril or anything... Infact, you could say I made troubles for countless others... Maybe this isn't the place for me..."
Rose would stand up and sigh. "I think it would be better if I left BEFORE she weas to come... Maybe then I could save her a bit of grief..."

A wash of relief came over the man's face when the gates opened up, and that same relief was shared with the man's body when the girl was lifted from his shoulders. Though the reprieve was brief, as a now free hand clutched his side. From this close someone could clearly see his jacket was slashed from his armpit to just under his right pectoral, and there was clearly blood seeping into the white shirt he wore underneath.
"Shadows." His pain was freshly remember and his once loud yelling was regulated to words between pants, "One eyed shadows... Up north... Attacking villages... Mine... Everyone dead, cept me... and her... Hopefully her."
He straightened up, ignoring the wound that made him want to crumple over.
"I had heard about you people... This place... and how you'd be able to save her."

She's very much a people person when time permits her to be."His smile faded to a worried frown as her mood seemed to change, becoming unsure of herself and demeaning her value as an individual...
Frost would catch a hold of her hand if she'd let him, and tug her gently back towards the ground to sit with him a little longer. "Please Rose, do not say such things. You do not have to be in imminent danger to dwell here. Some simply come for solace or to learn and refine their arts and skills." He would tap her nose gently as he continued,"You are welcome here, you're a daughter of the Dark Sakura now, may you never feel unwanted."

If he had been, the possibility of a race known as 'Shades' may have been at the forefront of his mind, but he didn't know about such beings.
He gave the man his shoulder for support, although he still needed both hands to hold onto the injured woman. Any moment, a med vac team would be on the spot, but for the time being, he wanted to take the stress of his weight off the man's wounds. The slash in his side looked to be quite serious it was a miracle he was still standing. "It's okay, you're safe now. Don't worry about your friend, our healers are the best."His voice held welcome reassurance, yet in his head he knew that the female was in critical condition, he could only hope that she wasn't too far gone and the healers could make good on his promises. "Ughn." He needed help, Frost shouldn't be too far away---"FROOOOSSSSSSST!! FRONT GATE, NOW!!"

She would let him pull her down to the ground. He had been so kind to her and she felt so at home here. Maybe all her pessimism had been for naught... Maybe she could truly stay here and be happy.
"I hope this woman is as great as she is said to be... Maybe if I can get her to like, she might be able to help me change for all my friends back in Euphoria... I cannot bare to hurt anyone anymore... If she comes back, please tell her that I would like to meet her whenever she isn't busy... I need her to help me wi-..."
Rose would look up and bite her lip, sigh at the sound of a soldier calling out. "Oh... Frost, sir... Someone is calling you and it sounds rather urgent..."

Frost seemed intent on what Rose was saying, and he nodded approvingly as she seemed to get some of her determination back.
"If she comes back, please tell her that I would like to meet her whenever she isn't busy... I need her to help me wi-"
"WHEN she comes back, I'm sure she'd be glad to---"
"FROOOOSSSSSSST!! FRONT GATE, NOW!!"
"Oh... Frost, sir... Someone is calling you and it sounds rather urgent..."
Bother, he thought. He wanted to know what she meant by hurting others and was intrigued to know what she sought help with... But it would have to wait.
"Hold that thought for me and I'll be right back."
He made a 'please stay here?' motion with his hands as he lept to his feet and took off for the front gate, Featherwind following closely behind him, gliding effortlessly.
Frost reached the gate to find Olynn draped in mangled bodies and smeared with blood. Frost was guessing the blood wasn't his own, but that of the injured refugees. Immediately, he took the injured woman from his guildsman's arms and settled her against his chest, allowing Olynn to freely support the man leaning on his shoulder, half carrying him.
"What happened?!!"
He asked with concern as they made their way towards the infirmary, the opposite path from the dormitories. As soon as Frost had delivered the refugees unto the care of the Healers, he would return to Rose, providing she was patient with him and would wait for him to come back...

Rose would sigh as she watched him leave. Atleast for the moment, she was alone again. She would lay her back against one of he shady trees and would let herself slide down to the ground. "And now, I wait..."
Rose would remain seated, not wanting to stand Frost up after his wonderous hospitality. She would look up as the last streams of twilight would peak out over the horizon... Well, she was alone, so she might as well great her 'babies'. Rose would smile and whisper, "Hey guys? Come say hello... I'm so lonely..."
Rose would hold out her finger and a mysterious thing would occur. The shadows of the trees and grass would begin to move across the ground like little snakes moving across the ground. The shadows' vine-like tendrils would reach up and wrap around her finger. She would purr to herself and carress the previously immobile entity and would smile at its gentle reactions... But would quickly look up as Frost returned, the shadows quickly receding to their castors.
"H-Hello, Frost..."

It was quite a miracle the man was standing, let alone yelling and carrying people. It was easy to toss it up to adrenaline though, god knows what this man had seen. That and he could have been chased for all the guardsman knew.
"Shadow creatures..." he would say to Frost while putting his weight on whatever man offered it, "One eye, absolutely devastating... They ruined everything... Spreading farther north, more people are at risk..."
While he was still speaking between breaths, he made a decent attempt to stumble towards the healing centre. Throwing a glance over to the woman he carried here. Despite knowing she was in stronger arms, he still looked worried that someone was going to take care of her.

It was time...
In the quaint and beauteous gardens of the Dark Sakura, something in the air stirred. It was as if the very air itself was boiling, being distorted and twisted to bring something into the plane of existence there. A man's figure appeared there, and soon after the air's movement ceased, and the man's appearance was crisp and perfectly visible. He made his way to the doors of the great estate, pushing them open slowly and stepping inside, closing the doors behind him slowly and silently. In the light of the building, the man's features were quite easy to see. He had straight, white hair that fell to just below his ears, wore a pair of ornate glasses, and behind the glasses were a pair of beautiful blue eyes that looked much like miniature oceans. One could lose them self within his eyes, and though they would be lost, they would be happy, for it was a wonderful place to be. He was dressed in a tight black pant that hugged his legs, giving them definition but not being too tight for the proper comfort. A simple white button-up shirt was on his torso, and underneath was an armless, black undershirt that was slightly visible due to his button-up shirt not being "buttoned-up" all the way. The cuffs were rolled up slightly on both sides, and on his right wrist was an expensive looking gold watch with many hands on it, none of them seeming to operate at the proper speed of a "normal" watch.
The man looked around, the faint light reflecting slightly of of his glasses, before beginning to make his way throughout the estate. He did not seem to be looking for anything in particular, which may seem odd for some, but not to him. The man merely wandered about the halls and looked at the glorious paintings and decor of the ornamented establishment, enjoying every minute of it, taking it all in. He noticed that some of the artwork looked quite old, while some of it appeared to be more recent, but not by much.Growing tired of constantly moving about, he exited the estate to return to the gardens outside, sitting down lightly underneath a tree beside the small stream the flowed throughout the grounds. He watched the water flow by as he relaxed, noticing the bloodied and mangled peoples upon the man that had brought them in and was debating on giving them some of his assistance, but decided against it, thinking that he would only get in the way. In all honesty, he hadn't met anyone here yet, the only person he knew here was Rose, an old friend of his from the Schools, though she was already in conversation with a man. He quickly looked at her again, surprised to see her here. Never before had he encountered her elsewhere in the various dimensions he visited. He would have gone over to her and spoken to her, but once again, she was previously engaged in conversation with another man. It seemed he would have to sit in solitude for the time being, not wanting to interfere with any of the going-ons of the hurt and not wanting to interrupt Rose's conversation with the other man.
... he had come.

Lady Sierra Lady Minx And Fae almost fell as she was glomped, unsure about how to handle the situation. All of her children had been fairly reserved, the only one who had tackled her usually sometimes Tellus when she was excited. But she managed, neither one falling, even if she had to lean against the desk to do so.
She looked at the girl curiously, her lips forming a small moue. "You didn't think I would. Then I wouldn't get to see you." She smiled then, a soft sad smile, but a genuine one. "I missed you too, Natalie. I decided to consider the offer a little more seriously."I'm going nuts at home, with nothing but the twins to occupy my time, and even then I don't get that since Dante is such a Mister Mom.
There was a sigh, as she looked at the girl and remembered the other reason why she was here. Tellus used to have hair so pale blue that it seemed whitish' blond in the right light. And now, she was gone... Natalie seemed to be able to tell that something was wrong. There were worry lines on Fae's pretty face that hadn't been there the last time the little girl had seen her.
The blue haired child tugged on her sleeve gently and blinked wide eyes at her, shiny with their concern. "Is something wrong Fae?" She hugged Natalie tightly and then tugged on a tendril of the girl's hair. "No. I'm quite alright. Sometimes, as much as I love life, I wish I could just freeze a moment in time and hold onto it forever. I think it's because I'm getting old..." She grinned, to let the girl know she was joking.
"But I am here to look for a job. Somewhere I can be helpful."

"One eyed..."
Frost shook his head, his brain scrambling to assemble some sort of shadowy mental image in an attempt to identify the enemy and failing. Those poor people!!
"Do you know how many there were? Or if you were followed?"
The sound of many feet striking against stone, in a hurry to reach their destination. The sound of many, moving with urgent importance. In total, there were eight. Four per patient, all robed in the garb of the estate's healers, although the colours of their robes varied slightly. Four of the healers wore pale green robes, another two were dressed in dark green and the last two bore robes of white.
The healers in pale green unrolled stretchers, two per, and held them steady while Frost would gently lower the seemingly comatose woman into the hammoc of canvas, trying not to jostle her in the process. Ollyn too, would help the man onto the other stretcher.
One of the white robed healers, a middle-aged woman smiled at the man and spoke in clear, strong, yet comforting tones.
"Are either of you allergic to magick or have you ever experienced an adverse reaction to magick healings?"
With the types that tended to wander through the Dark Sakura's gates... you could never be too careful. New healers were still told horror stories of when some over-zealous white mage tried to 'heal' a vampire with a holy spell.
Ollyn looked at Frost and made a gesture with his head, Frost understanding stepped off to the side to confer privately with the other guard.
"What do you make of it?"
"Don't know really... never heard of the creature he described before, but there's been stranger--"
"Yeah."
"We need to report this, this isn't something that falls under our jurisdiction. GUARDIAN will handle it..."
"Mmm. What were you doing before I called for you?"
"Talking to one of the new girls, Rose."
"Heh. Okay, well... go finish with your pleasantries and get yourself over to Intelligence and tell them what's happened. I'm going with these two, talk to this fella' more when he's able and work on a report. Tell Kimiho or whoever you talk to, to tell her that she'll have it as soon as it's ready. We really need to act on this-- Or at least they do."
"Yeah... This is some pretty heavy carnage. I'll go finish talking with Rose... find me when you're free, we'll compare notes."
"Gotcha"
And with that, Frost took off at a jog to where he'd left Rose, oblivious that his uniform was blood soaked and he looked a mess. As he approached, he noticed the crimson haired woman playing with the shadows about her, and he couldn't help but shudder after what he'd just heard/seen. But that wasn't her fault, and the shadows she was involved with looked nothing like what the victim from the village had spoken of.
"Heya, sorry about that!"

Rose was slightly startled by his swift return. She would stand to attention at his arrival, the shadows having returned to their normal positions.
"Oh, uh... Welcome back, Frost." She would blush a bit from having been suprised. "Is something the matter? You're all bloody... and I saw some people... they looked like healers or something along those lines... Is someone hurt?" She would close her eyes, having felt stupid from having asked such a stupid question.
Rose would look down to the floor and pull her hood farther over her face, hiding herself in her own self-shame. Something would buldge from under her robe along her back but would recede as Rose stood up straight. She would await his answer.
