Another smack of the iron tail sent Drilbur flying back. When the battle was over Simon returned Mareep and walked over to George as he returned Drilbur. "My honest opinion is level everyone to maybe twelve or fourteen before taking Viola on and you should do great.""Thank you,"George said before heading to the Pokemon center to heal his team up. The first Pokemon they came across was the normal Pokemon "Dunsparce the land snake Pokemon. Dunsparce has a drill for its tail. It uses this tail to burrow into the ground backwards. This Pokemon is known to make its nest in complex shapes deep under the ground." Because of that Simon thought that some people probably mistook it for a ground type Pokemon. However since it was normal Simon felt okay to send out Mareep again. He was the lowest level of his team but pretty over leveled here. So they'd catch a Bunnelby then head somewhere where the Wild Pokemon were a bit higher in level.

Mareep looked around the tall grass, if he was a girl Simon could picture her prancing about but Mareep wanted to be tough regardless of how poofy he was. Going towards the flowers he tried to take a bite from one when he was smacked on the snout by a Flabebe. The little fairy Pokemon didn't approve of Mareep trying to make a snack out of her flower that she was sitting on. Honestly it might actually be a part of her, Simon could never tell. Checking the Pokenav he saw that steel moves are super effective against fairy so he had Mareep use iron tail to knock the Flabebe out with one swipe.

After defeating the fairy Pokemon Simon decided to use a black flute. Picturing the Pokemon in his mind he played the flute. After the tune was over and the flute crumbled in his hands Bunnelby burst free from the ground. This was because even though she was normal she was known as, "Bunnelby the digging Pokemon. It has ears like shovels. Digging holes strengthens its ears so much that they can sever thick roots effortlessly." Mareep rushed her swinging his tail again knocking the Pokemon out. She had enough fight in her that she broke free from the first Pokeball. The second attempt was more successful as Bunnelby was caught.

Now that Bunnelby was caught Simon returned Mareep, there were other new Pokemon to be caught in this area however Simon was currently only catching those who originated in Kalos. With that being said the next Pokemon on his 'hit list' was Helioptile which he could find in Glittering Cave. That meant traveling first to Ambrette Town, the Pokemon in that area were still below Stunky's level so Aron and Mareep should be fine battling there. Sending out Noivern Simon told him the updated location and off they went. In the air the city below looked pretty nice and now he could see that the gym's roof resembled a spider's web which made sense because of Viola's typing.

Vince was messing with his xtransceiver so that he could give Cheria his number, but as he was pulling the information up, he noticed that his charmander was running straight for a wild weedle and scrambled to stop her before it was too late. Unfortunately by the time she'd beaten down the bug, she began to grow weary and pale, a clear sign that she had been poisoned. Exchanging numbers would have to wait, this was a far more important matter to attend to. He would have stopped to make sure Cheria was okay when she fell in any other circumstance, but time was not on his side. Poison needed to be treated as soon as possible, lest it have terrible consequences. He ran on towards Santalune City, keeping his eyes peeled for the red roofed building, his pokemon running alongside or just behind them. Even with their smaller sizes, Xiu Feng and Li Yu were able to keep up with Vince and Lin Hua, which might have been surprising for some, but Vince expected it of them at this point given their training.
The charmander in his arms squirmed uncomfortably from the pain that the poison was causing her little body, and Vince glanced down in concern. Poison was worse on a smaller pokemon, because it took less time for it to seep into the entire body. "Hold on... We're nearly there." He promised her quietly. At last the pokemon center came into view, and Vince quickly made his way over and through the doors, his burst in somewhat startling the people inside. "Oh dear, Chansey, I think we have an emergency!" Nurse Joy called preemptively as Vince quickly made his way to the counter, where thankfully no one else was waiting in line. "What happened?" The nurse asked with concern as her chansey made it's way over to take the charmander. "Poisoned by a weedle in the forest." Vince sighed, catching his breath and regaining his composure. "Oh dear, that's what I was afraid of. A lot of people have been having trouble with poison lately... The weedle must be out in full force today.""That isn't surprising." Vince muttered, walking over to the waiting area and taking a seat in one of the cushioned chairs as the chansey wheeled his charmander away towards the critical care unit. "How long has it been since the incident?" Joy asked, moving from around the counter and over to Vince, going through the procedural questioning. "I would say about a minute. Two at most. We ran straight here after it happened and we were already close to the forest's edge." Vince informed her in a dull tone. He knew she needed to ask, and that his charmander was being cared for currently by the chansey, but he really wished the nurse would leave him alone and take care of his pokemon instead, since she was the one who needed the attention. Thankfully that seemed to be the last question she needed answered. "Well that's good news. I'm glad you got her here as soon as you could. The treatment and recovery should be quick in that case." Vince nodded, at least politely pretending like this information was new to him and nodding in thanks so that she would leave.
Once she had, Vince sat back in his seat with a sigh and glanced to the center's doors. Man, he'd left Cheria in the dust, especially since she'd tripped at the start. He felt the light guilt creeping up his spine again, but she couldn't really blame him, given the circumstances. If she did, then there was clearly a problem, but he didn't think she was the type. For the time being, he relaxed and waited for Cheria to catch up, Lin standing off to his side nearby, Xiu hopping up onto the seat next to him, and Li slithering up his leg and torso to drape herself on his neck and shoulders. While he waited, he grabbed a pen and small slip of paper from the stand next to him, pulling up his number to write it down on the sheet. As soon as Cheria entered the center, Vince rose one arm languidly to indicate his location. "Sorry for the sprint. I don't like to take chances with poison." He explained himself lightly, and held out the sheet of paper he'd written on. "If you still want my number..." He indicated the sheet in hand with a soft nod.

lol Normally usually wouldn't be the one to offer a number first, so your surprise is not misplaced, but he feels bad cause he's making her feel like she's not wanted. He also can't say that he does want her around because he just feels kind of neutral about whether she stays or goes, but there's no real way to explain that to her without it coming off rudely. So the way he figures it, since they're about to split off, the best way to go about this is giving out his number to show that he is willing to stay in contact if she would like.

Cheria had more or less been left behind, but that was fine. Vince was most likely just worried about Charmander. Cheria understood that. As she walked into the city, she received a text from Marx and her mother. She read and responded to her mother first as she walked to the center. It was just he usual mom questions. Was she doing okay? How was she? Things like that. Standing outside the doors as she read Marx's text, Cheria smiled.

She sent the text as she entered the Pokémon Center. Looking up, she spotted Vince when he raised his arm to her. Walking over to him, she was greeted with an apology and his number. "It's alright. If I got angry of others being worried about their Pokémon, I'd be an awful person. To tell the truth, I'd have left you in the dust, too. Though....Leaving me behind did get me a special little Vulpix, so I couldn't be angry even if I was an awful brat." Cheria gave a smile as she took his number and added into her contacts before writing down her own on the paper. "Is she alright? I hope she wasn't poisoned too badly."

Vince gave another short chuckle as Cheria pretty much spoke his mind on the matter and took his number. "Yeah... I figured you weren't the type." He nodded, though looked curious as she mentioned finding a special Vulpix as a result of their little misadventure. "Special...? How so?" Vince asked curiously. He wouldn't ever be interested in capturing and training a vulpix himself, but he was interested in what was so special about this vulpix that Cheria had caught. She took his number and input his contact information, returning the favor soon after, so when she was done Vince took the slip of paper and added her number to his device as well, glancing up as she asked about his charmander. "She should be fine. We got here quickly, so I'm not too worried." He explained. "A weedle's poison sting is potent stuff, but it doesn't inject much venom. She'll be feeling the effects more than there actually being any danger, but it still isn't something to take lightly." Vince sighed. Clearly there was a lot they needed to cover. Like, not rushing into a battle with a poison type. "It's been a while since I've trained with such an inexperienced pokemon..... I forget these things aren't obvious to them. Particularly lab pokemon...." He bemoaned, rubbing his face a bit as he practically felt the headaches coming already. Starting back to basics. Jeez, he felt like a kindergarten teacher. It wasn't the charmander's fault though, and it would be worth it in the end. A charizard, particularly a mega charizard would be an irreplaceable ally.

She was glad she was easy to read...? Honestly, she wasn't sire what the right word here was. Cheria was a photographer, not a writer. So, correct words were a thing she wasn't all that great at. When Vince asked what was so special about the Vulpix she caught, Cheria grabbed the ball and let the Fire-type out. It's gray, blue-splattered fur pattern were definitely unique, but what really caught her attention suddenly were the soft, almost invisible rune- or glyph-like patterns on the blue areas. Cheria actually had to squint to see them now that she actually noticed they were there. "Huh....You're a lot more special than I thought. I wonder if the glyphs actually mean anything." Vulpix looked up at her with an almost unimpressed expression. What? What did she do wrong? I hope she's not angry I caught her....Wait. She caught herself. So then, what's the problem?

Vince took a look at the vulpix that Cheria let out of it's pokeball with interest. He could see now what was so special about it; that was certainly some odd coloration, and as Cheria pointed out, it even had some interesting glyph like symbols on it. "How interesting..." He murmured, glancing to Cheria as she wondered aloud if the symbols meant anything. "My guess is as good as yours. I really don't know much about vulpix, so..." Vince shrugged, running his fingers through his hair and sitting back in his chair. Whatever the case, the vulpix didn't seem to be too impressed with Cheria. Vince's assumption was that it hadn't wanted to be caught, since he didn't know that it had caught itself. He didn't get to ponder it for too long however, as Nurse Joy came by to give him an update on his charmander. "I'm sorry to interrupt, but we gave your charmander some antidote and chansey used her heal pulse, now your charmander is fighting fit. She's still resting, but I wouldn't be surprised if--" She hadn't even finished her explanation before the sound of little claws padded quickly across the floor, and Vince's charmander rounded the corner to meet up with the rest of them, followed by a worried looking chansey. "Oh my! It seems she's already raring to go. I'll leave you two to it then." She concluded with a nod. "Thank you." Vince nodded back, glancing over to the charmander that was now standing expectantly in front of him. "You want to get back out there already, don't you?""Char!""That's a lot of confidence, coming from a pokemon who ran right into a poison sting." Vince scolded lightly. The charmander frowned lightly. "I like the initiative to do your own training, but if you can't be trusted to make the right decisions on your own, then there's no point. From now on, you are to alert me when you want to battle, and you wait for my command." Vince instructed, and the charmander begrudgingly agreed. With that, Vince stood, glancing to Cheria. "Shall we?" He offered, moving towards the door.

Cheria looked up at Vince as he commented on her speculation. Well, of they did, she'd find out eventually. Still, the way Vulpix just...dismissed her was a but discoursing. What was the point of joining the team if she didn't like Cheria? Pokémon were really odd. It sort of reminded her of how that Pidgey abandoned its former trainer to join Skye since he had a Pidgeotite. Cheria jumped a bit when Joy joined them to inform Vince of Charmander's condition, and Cheria fiddled with her hair as she smiled softly. That was good news. It wasn't long before Charmander joined them, looking much better and ready to go. Though....Vince had a few words to say on the incident. Cheria didn't blame him for scolding the fire lizard on her recklessness; she'd have done the same. But, she also felt sorry for the Charmander. It was raised in a lab after all, so her knowledge on the different types was little, of there was any at all. I honestly don't think either of them are in the wrong. Then again, this isn't anything I should comment on. I'll...stay quiet on the matter, but I hope things don't sour between them. Vince suddenly spoke to here, snapping her out of her thoughts, and Cheria smiled. "Sure thing!" Cheria tried to return Vulpix to her ball, but she refused to return. Seriously? The blonde sighed and clipped her ball back into place. "Something tells me this one's going to be more trouble than she's worth." But, since Cheria was so nice, she wouldn't ever contemplate abandoning the Vulpix. She would get irritated, sure, but that was expected with all Pokémon.

As Vince made his way out of the crowded streets of Lumiose and back into Santalune, he decided now he could let his other pokemon back out and introduce them to Yin Ling. "I'm going to let some of my other pokemon out now, okay? I'd like you to meet your new teammates." He explained to the deino so that it didn't get surprised by the sudden appearence of pokemon. Yin barked in agreement and sat down to listen and wait. New scents began to drift in. The smell of fresh grass, the smell of ash and smoke, a somewhat fishy smell, and then a peculiar scent that he had never smelled before, but he didn't like it, as became apparent when he wrinkled his nose. It smelled almost like.... Fairies.... But still draconic. He didn't know what to think of it. "This is Yin Ling everyone. He will be joining us from now on." Vince introduced.
As the pokemon began to meet and greet, Vince sat down on a nearby bench. In the moment, he actually hadn't really gotten a good look at what all the Deino had taken, so he figured now was a good time as ever. ('Hello Yin.') Lin greeted, bending over to touch noses with the smaller dragon, who, while he could understand Lin, didn't seem quite able to talk back other than a happy bark. Li was next, she was the one who smelled fishy, and Yin gave her a big lick with his tongue when she approached, but she tasted nothing fish. Yin was disappointed and shook his head in surprise. Vince's charmander was the one that smelled like smoke. Yin was very curious of her, circling the fire type and sniffing a bit more. ('Oh, uh.... Hey there!') She greeted brightly, though a bit concerned that he was sniffing so intently at her. He seemed to move on at last to the strange fairy dragon smelling thing and gave a bit of a growl, which offended Xiu Feng somewhat. ('Excuse you. Got a problem with me over the others?') She grumbled, holding her head up proudly. ('Smelllsssssss of fairiesssss....') Yin hissed, ducking his serpentine head low. ('Yeah well I'm half fairy, half dragon. Get over it.') She sniffed. That explained the strange mix of smells. It seemed like an odd combination, but the deino had a good reason to be wary of fairies, given it's critical weakness to the type.
Vince glanced up after taking inventory, surprised by how useful these items were. He could actually really use this stuff to help boost his team. "Yin." Vince called to get the dragon's attention. The deino glanced up curiously as his name was called. "Would you mind me using some of your stuff to help our team?" Vince asked, holding out the discs, scales, and mushrooms so that the Deino knew what he wanted to take and use. He supposed he could allow Vince to use them, after all this was his new team. He barked in agreement, and with his okay, Vince began distributing the items amongst the others. As he got to his charmander however, he paused, looking her over. "With these items, your power will grow significantly, but I trust that you will not let it go to your head.... Huang Chen." Vince said slowly, and the charmander glanced up in sudden excitement as Vince called her... Something. Was that going to be her nickname...? What did it mean? She looked at Vince curiously for answers. "It means "Bright Morning". You have quite the determination for such a young one. I can see your spirit burning brightly as the sun." He explained with a light smile. Chen seemed to like this, grinning brightly as she took her selection of items from Vince.

With Yin's agreement to use the items he'd collected, Vince had a few items set aside with two of his other pokemon in mind. "Come, we're going to the pokemon center. I have two pokemon that I would like you to meet, Yin and Huang, but they're currently in storage." Vince explained as they walked. "They're more experienced like Lin, so I had put them away to focus on training Xiu, Li, and you Huang." He continued thoughtfully. "I've given it some thought though, I've decided to bring them with me anyways. I'm sure they would appreciate at least traveling with us." They reached the center and Vince stepped in, his hoard of pokemon following behind. ('Lin, if you're more experienced like these two other teammates, why didn't you get put in storage?') Huang asked. ('Insurance.') Lin explained with a shrug. ('Vince might have wanted to focus on training you all up, but he can't rely on a team of untrained pokemon. He wanted an expert to back him up in case things went wrong. Can't leave the team completely defenseless.')('Oh... Yeah that makes sense.') Huang nodded thoughtfully, glancing to Vince as he logged into the community PC and withdrew his two other pokemon. ('Well it'll be nice to meet our other teammates.') The charmander thought out loud optimistically. ('Yeah. You say that now, and then you actually meet them.') Xiu grumbled, which took Huang by surprise. ('Huh?') Lin looked at Xiu with gentle disapproval, but then sighed and turned her attention back to Huang. ('Hai Lan is the lonely type, and Wei He.... Well.... He's just intimidating, and hard to read. You'll... probably get to see it first hand here soon, so it's best to warn you now.') Lin sighed.
Sure enough, Vince let the two pokemon out of their balls once he had retrieved them from the computer. "Go ahead and stretch your fins. You'll be traveling with me from here out." Vince nodded to the two. "Huang Chen, Yin Ling, this is Hai Lan and Wei He." He introduced briefly. Huang stared in awe at the dragalge and kingdra, but she could see what Lin had been saying. Hai Lan seemed to be pretending they didn't exist, and Wei He seemed quite the opposite, staring long and hard at her and Yin. Huang felt unsettled and a bit embarrassed. Did he.... Not approve? It was hard to tell, that face was definitely stone. "Oh, and I also have a few things to give you both." Vince addressed, which seemed to grab their attention. He handed Hai Lan his remaining two heart scales, and Wei He the light blue disk, one of the ones Yin had taken. With that, Vince returned them to their pokeballs, since he didn't plan on training either, and they would likely be bored otherwise.

Olivia kept up her song up until she arrived in Santalune, the 'big city's' noise drowning out her soft voice. She pressed her lips together as she left behind the beaten path of Route 3 and took up the cobbled road, though she'd only taken a few steps before she spun on the balls of her feet to face her pokemon, a strange expression on her face-- or at least odd to her newest pokemon, Valerian and Licorice could distinguish it as a slow-building determination. "Alright guys, it's time for some serious training," she informed them, earning a variety of different responses that all grouped into one raucous chorus. Olivia laughed, pleased even with the more negative reactions; though anything of that nature only came from Poppy, and she was always a spoilsport.
It was exactly why the little diva was returned, though she wasn't the only one. After thinking of a basic battle plan she returned Licorice and Blue as well, though the latter took much longer to wrangle, to the point where his 'mother' had to be brought out just to calm him down and explain the entire process. Olivia gave a soft sigh afterwards, reaching up to stroke the bridge of her nose lightly. She really needed to learn more about Blue, and not just his species but his vehement dislike for her and other humans. Perhaps he'd been abused in the past and just now harbored a distrust for all of them? Either way, it was something to investigate.
"Come here Ginny," Olivia cooed as she turned to the Bunnelby, a soft laugh escaping her as she watched him instinctively flinch and then relax in the same moment. After whatever fright he'd experienced he looked up at her expectantly, chin tilted up, "I've got something for you," she informed him as he warily shuffled forward. When he was close enough she took out a TM, one of the few items her precinct had started her off, and began to elaborate as she taught him Stone Edge. "You're an asset to this team, so I want to try and make you stronger. You knowing this move will only help."
She stepped back afterwards and gave the now used TM a glance before she chucked it into the nearest trashcan. "How do you feel?" she inquired, to which Ginseng tilted his head to one side before he puffed his chest out, his way of communicating that he was okay.
