He'd take the defensive in a moment, but if Rota was going to open it up, Alyx saw no reason to waste the opportunity. This was a powerful monster. "We can't take this thing lightly. It's dangerous. I can't hit it hard enough. I'll keep an eye on this one. You focus on cutting that b*****d down to size." He stepped into a position that put him between the two golems, and raised his shield, keeping his sword arm up to brace the shield. Rota had parried the last attack, but that didn't give Alyx much of a measure of how hard the giant hit. The only way he'd figure that out is taking the hit himself. Rota heard the words of Alyx next. He nodded, but dropped his sword momentarily. he would need to keep it close, but this was a time for other tactics. This was a creature mad of stone. A weapon designed for cutting was not the best choice here. There was one trick up his sleeve that WAS made to rend stone asunder, however. He pulled forth his pickaxe and swung it at the shield of the creature, ready to crush its body to bits beneath his might. If Alyx could hold it together and keep his guard up, they would have this victory in the bag. He hadn't ever let anyone die that he was protecting, and he wasn't going to start now. The man kept a cautious eye on the golem, watching to see if it was going to throw a surprise or two their way. He didn't trust boss monsters to be predictable. On cursory observation, they resembled the same stone that had come off the cube. If he had time to think, he would have been intrigued by such a discovery. Instead, all thoughts in his mind related to decimating the thing that was trying to kill his kid. He waited for another opening, and Alyxandeyr once more provided it. he pulled back his pick and unleashed it at the same spot. Even in his mine it took a while to get started, and it didn't help that this was an all new way to use the skill he had acquired that he was not as of yet used to. Still, he shouted a mighty cry and swung the pick nonetheless. Might work better.The demon let that thought rest as the soldier wound up a swing of its own pitiful sword and bowled over Alyx, moving on to Little One. Abyssian was back in Rota's hand so fast the eye could not perceive it, as he stepped inbetween the two constructs. The roars of paternal fury from the Demon Artisan were incomprehensible as His blade met the Stone Warrior's . Either way, the righteous fury of the demon had swung his blade one handed once more and knocked the swing of the warrior away as if it were a cardboard tube. The sword was gone from the berserker's hand again as he grabbed his pick. By fortune's chance, Alyx had opened him up a bit for the oncoming swing, but the raging demon would have swung regardless of that fact. Only two things mattered to the crazed Rota right now. The protection of Little One, and the destruction of the golem before him. Everything else was superfluous. The rage was consuming him, and his bloodthirst would only be quenched when the one causing his anger was destroyed. He noticed that Alyx had opened up the warrior again, and in a moment of clarity saw the shield. He ran towards it, and used it as a footstool to leap at the upper torso of the warrior. Instead of going for the direct approach, Rota had jumped shallowly over the right shoulder of the golem, his pickaxe following behind him as it was sailing on a direct course for the center of its neck.
