"Ah..." Arcana flushed, understanding dawning on him. A little late to the party but he looked at Selene's hand and nodded. "I will be more aware of where I kiss then..." He looked to Selene for a brief moment, mottled cheeks turning even more red as he spoke to her instead. "That...Um...If you don't mind?" He finished lamely. "But I am glad. Cricket is the best healer here though." Arcana had always admired her dedication and quick skill with her FEARhealing. "Three years and I bet you'll be an aspiration for other students here." He smiled shyly at Cricket.
Then he heard Dis and was glad that Cricket was there and that he was clutching Selene close. He growled as Dis leaned closer, glaring up at the Vampire.
"She wasn't making a sound for you, you pervert." Arcana tilted his chin up. "Could you go please find someone else to traumatize with your lust filled ways?" He focused on Selene again, "Ig...Ignore him Selene!" She almost seemed to disappear in his arms as she hid from the vampire.
Arcana's only solution was to take Selene and turn her away from Dis and then glare over his shoulder at the Vampire.
"Don't you come over here or...or...I will beat you up."

The fire earlier hadn’t bothered Dabir too much. Actually, he had been greatly amused by watching his table burn to a crisp. He was pretty sure he still had those cards somewhere in his pants pockets. Somewhere. Though he still wished he had roasted some food while his table had burned, but he wasn’t a time-traveling demon or something. Too bad.
“True, but I was looking forward to a normal day,” he admitted as he stood next to Callie. “Callie, huh? The name rings a bell. I’m Dabir.” He grimaced, tail swishing as he recalled the sensation. His hand went for his horns, which had been nailed pretty snugly into the walls. “I’m peachy. As long as I’m standing on my legs, I’m fine.” He looked at Callie. "How about you? Are you alright?"

With a loud and rather wet squeak and an equally loud squelch, the last of the tentacles retreated back into the crack, effectively clearing the path for the students.
In fact, there was indeed a soft blue light that danced against the walls at what seemed like the end of the tunnel. Why the students hadn't seen it prior - oh wait, well duh, giant squid. The air was getting warmer too, a fine mist trailing along the ground, soft and delicate. It was as if all the students knew what lay ahead, that something, someone was waiting for them. It was as if the next step they took would unravel something they had been anticipating for a long time, filling that niche in their darkest crevice of doubt, fulfilling them entirely and telling them they were needed. They were the heroes this time. They were the ones who would complete an oddly unexplainable quest.
Each step seemed a thousand at once, feet and claws light, Fear nearly brimming with anticipation. Whatever lay within was waiting for them. Another step. One more. Almost there, just one more step-
And nothing. Nothing calling or whispering or even the voices that tickled the edge of their Fear. Just a large, in fact enormous cavern with a pool of water in the center. A pool of water that glowed, with its own light, illuminating the area in soft wavering blues. A pool of water that, within its diamond-clear waters, revealed an entire layer of treasure underneath. Chalices, golden swords, spears, crowns, and baubles. The water concealed a trove of indoubtedly invaluable treasure.
What was this doing under Amityville? THE CAVERN: EXPLORATION TIME - Now that whatever was blocking the tunnel has retreated (p.30) FREE EXPLORATION TIME in the cavern. Your student can choose to explore further one of these preset options, like a CYOA. HOWEVER, if they would also like to examine one of these options in detail, BOLD YOUR STUDENT'S EXAMINATION/INVESTIGATION IN BOLD RED. A GM will then quote you only if your choice yields further results. Think of it both as free exploration and the ability to investigate a little further. - At any point of time your student can choose to walk out. Simply post in their post EARLY EXIT. It means you will not RP them until tomorrow's RP post. - Otherwise, there is quite the benefit for staying. Your student can: gaia_crown [ Examine the treasure in the water ] - The water really isn't that deep, perhaps only a few feet either way. Most students can wade in it, if not actually step into it fine. There is a great assortment of treasure in the water, students can pick and choose as they please, though they should only pick as much as they can carry really, and its best not to be too greedy. There is no telling if this treasure is cursed. - Picking up any treasure (your choice of what it is as long as it is GOLD/ medieval in format) yields no negative results. In fact, it may yield a rather huge profit... If you are pocketing a piece of treasure, please post your choice in BOLD RED. - The water is WARM. It feels nice actually and yields no negative results - There is NOTHING swimming in the water. Anyone who buries their head into the water will hear something, a soft melody, a chant of.... - There is HOWEVER, a beautiful jeweled chalice that seems to be emitting light on its own. It will not move no matter how much you push or pull at it. It sits on a large stone pedestal, that seems to have faint writing on it... gaia_crown [ Examine the cave surrounding: ] The cave itself is rather large and spacious, easily larger even than the gymnasium. Walking around the entire pool of water takes considerable time and effort, as does flying. The air seems thicker here, and occasionally, you can still hear odd whispers, though not in a language you recognize. - There are etchings on the walls. You can't see them clearly though, perhaps if you had a better light source... - You notice that the flooring is very uneven, grooved almost. The grooves seem to have a pattern to it.... - There is the scattering of occasional blue, glowing flowers, that lie around the area. They seem adverse to you however, quickly withdrawing back into the ground upon anyone getting too close. - The occasional discarded piece of treasure lies around the area. Picking one up yields no negative results. Why the heck not. - There are no other exits other than the hallway leading back out.

Laughing, Dis nodded at Cricket. "Fine, I'll tough it out. But when I'm dying I expect a full treatment, but hey, you want to try some fire play I can get into it." Actually, no, he wouldn't. Turning to Arcana and Selene, the vampire slinked closer to them. "Hrmmmm how about I leave if you give me a kiss." He was a boil of his word. He'd leave them alone for a kiss. How long, was anyone's guess. "You can beat me up, but I'd just come back, we both know that. So what do you say, you or Sweet lil's Selene give me a nice kiss, and I'll be on my way?"

She shrugged with an all-too-boastful grin. "'Course! ALL CAPS CALLIE IS ALWAYS ALRIGHT, DABIR~" she announced, striking a dynamic pose. "A heroine must know when and where to leap into the thick of battle where she is needed! This means being good to go all the time because you never know what will happen. Also being genre savvy helps. I predict we're going to meet the beastie what owns those tentacles preeeetty soon."
She licked a finger and held it to the air. ". . . Yup, adventure senses tingling in the kraken direction. Or Cthulu. I wouldn't mind fighting an elder eldritch abomination as a class for old time's sake and all~" She couldn't punch fire or water, but she could sure as hell try to punch out Cthulu.Syusaki Off to sleep I go! I've got work for most of the day, but they can continue hanging in the next stage if you want. 83

It wasn't FEAR. It hadn't come from one of them. And it sent Argyle into a quiet panic, the anxiety in his eyes betraying the outward calm that he was trying so desperately to portray. What if there was a human somewhere, lost and scared and injured and afraid? He wouldn't ever be able to forgive himself if he just ignored that.
He followed the trail with the others, assimilating into the group with a willingness that he'd never really felt before. These were dire circumstances. He supposed he could conform just this once.
They were splitting up and going in every which direction in the darkness, and it was impossible to hide his glow this time...so he used it to his advantage, illuminating the walls near him. It gave some comfort when the rumbling overtook them, his strides still confident through the unknown depths.
"What is the...how?" he murmured, emerging into the open cavern and glancing around, blinking at the glow, far brighter than his own.

Arcana tried not to hear the truth in Dis's words but...He knew. No matter what. The Vampire would come back and he would be worst, unruly.
Looking at Selene, meeting her terrified noire eyes and the repeated small voice that said No cause the Reaper to stiffen and steel himself.
"Here Selene." He set her down gently on the cold ground, turning and standing to face the Vampire. His face was red but his conviction was strong.
"You won't like this but if I do it. Then you have to leave Selene alone and NEVER ask her for a kiss." He stared at Dis. "You swear on JACK right now that you will."
Whether or not the Boil did was another matter as Arcana horribly and terribly placed his lips on Dis. And held it there....for two or three seconds and then pulled his face back. "now...now...."
And then Arcana burst into non manly tears.
"It was gross." He slid to the ground, tucking his face in his knees. His lips were tainted...ruined. Now he could never kiss Selene.

Selene felt the cold ground and opened her eyes, staring down for a moment in confusion. Why was..?
When she looked up, Arcana was kissing Dis.
And Selene's little tiny cold-blooded snake heart broke into a thousand tiny pieces.
She stared at him when he fell down and curled up, and put her hand on his shoulder, before glaring up at Dis.
Glaring.
Selene was glaring.
"Dis.." She whispered quietly, in a very serious little voice. "You are a very bad boil, and need to go away now, and leave me with my Arcana."
It was the strongest statement Selene would ever say in her entire life.

The vampire stood there and smiled as he was kissed. The score was 6 now. "That is fine, there are other things I can ask her for after all." Licking his lips there was a purr coming from him. "Now if you kiss her it will be like she is kissing me, now isn't that a fun thought?" He whispered at the boil before turning. "Have fun with your boil Selene... Come see me when you get bored of him though..." Time to boogies out. "And darling you were the real prize, but, I just have to wait for the right time to swoop down upon you is all..." Then he was off to find his next victim.

"Fire isn't the only thing that burns, Desidero." Cricket replied, one hand on her hip. As the cavern seemed to lighten, she turned from the group she had been standing with and stepped into it cautiously, looking around, frowning a bit.
The school didn't look nearly this big from the outside, did it? Passing a glance around to try and spot Red, Cricket frowned even more. She couldn't see the other ghoul yet, but she would wait for a bit longer before she started snooping.

The cleaning process had consumed Taru so extensively that she might not have even noticed that ominous trail of blood, had Bee not sniffed and examined and barked in triplicate to get her attention. Propping her broom against her table, she frowned at it, leaning down to get a better look herself.
"What'd you find, kid?" she mused, poking at it with her toe. A quick look farther down the trail seemed to indicate that some of the others were already following it; seemed like a cool enough adventure. Why not?
They were just a little curious parade, all of the murmuring between them echoing through the hallways as if it were just any other day between classes. Except they didn't usually go into restricted areas of the school. This really was going to be quite the adventure.
She touched the key on her way past it, tentative and curious, glancing down at the cerbpuppy.
"Guess we got nothing to lose!" she chimed, plucking the squirming pup up to avoid losing him as they plunged into the darkness.
And got really lost. For a long time. She cursed herself for not sticking near some of the more shiny students, and found herself wishing that her FEAR attack lasted long enough to be of any real use.
It was the rumbling and shouting and the sound of attacks that finally got her heading in the right direction, coming upon the majority of the group just in time to watch some kind of giant creature meet its demise.
"Ahaaa, yeah, uh, good job team!" she cheered, setting Bee down near her feet to applaud them.
As everyone else milled about, Taru took a moment to catch a good glimpse of her surroundings. This was a really interesting place to be not too far from Amity. Or was it? She wasn't too sure how long she'd been walking in that darkness, but the unique features of the cavern seemed kind of valuable to just be buried right under them this whole time. And was that treasure?
"....yeah, so. About this loot," she said to nobody in particular, squinting suspiciously. She hadn't really earned the stuff, taking no part in the fight...and considering the lack of any idea what it was doing here to begin with, was it even something she should pick up?

"Shut it, Vel." d**k hissed, pulling a piece of the tinted glass from his flesh, a few droplets of blood trickling down his face. Clearly, that was less funny and more painful.
However, his eyes were much sharper in the faint light, their color trying to bore their way into the raptor ghoul's nerves to keep her paralyzed where she stood. After all, there was a reason behind him actually wearing the shades. He averted his gaze quickly, however, towards the open cavern.
"Oh s**t, son. That is some water." he marveled a bit, heading towards the cove to look around a bit. Maybe he'd pick up some shiny sparklies.

Quote: Exploration - - There is NOTHING swimming in the water. Anyone who buries their head into the water will hear something, a soft melody, a chant of.... All Arcana could think....was that he was tainted. And he had a Dis disease. He had the Dis disease and he had kissed and now he was a Kissed Dis Diseased Reaper Arcana who would never ever be able to kiss Selene because Dis kissed him!
He only looked up from the pity and self loathing self when he felt the gentle snake touch his shoulder. A beacon of hope in the long sadness that was Kissed Dis Diseased Arcana.
He blinked up at her, his cheeks wet from his tears and a small sniff as she glared....oh Jack Selene was GLARING. That was kinda of scary...but sweet at the same time.
And then his jaw dropped at her statement. He wiped his tears and came to hug Selene. His face red, tear stained and his lips tainted but-
He got up, not caring about the cavern and went to the pool of water, shoving his head under. He could hear voices, that same lullaby from the caverns, almost distracting him from his quest, before pulling his head out and wandering back to Selene and dropped down next to her.
"And Leave me with MY Selene." Arcana reached over to pull her in a hug. Feeling a lot better now that he dipped his lips. Almost clean from Diseased Dis and blushed. "Because...Because...Um Selene...." He flushed. THINGS THAT SHOULD BE SAID SHOULD BE SAID NOW.

"Gnomes are such silly creatures." Melusine replied, but was unsure whether her entire reply was heard as the tentacle monster retreated in quite a loud fashion. Though it seemed a shocking turn of events, she only blinked owlishly as it disappeared and revealed a large cave. A cave! What a singular turn of events. Why there was a cave underneath Amityville totally escaped the vampire's notice and she only stood there and looked at it for a moment. Though she never let go of Acher's hand, she still watched, as though she were waiting for something else to happen. But nothing did, so she finally pulled him forward and into the cave. "I have never been one for adventure, not particularly. But I also see the wisdom in exploration when it presents itself." She finally replied as she tugged him along, light though rather emotionless for such a grand adventure. "Do you not like adventure? One of your stature seems most suited for adventure." That was supposed to be a compliment, but it was unclear whether she realized its vague and slight ability to offend. The water instantly turned Melusine away as she was not particularly fond of any body of water and certainly didn't want to cross it. So instead, she veered away and was instantly distracted by the glowing flowers. Sure to watch her step, she followed their trail and was dismayed to see them disappear. She took a step back, considered it for a moment, then leapt into the air and dove straight into a patch of flowers.A good dose of surprise would keep them around, right?
