She studied the places where they were to go, it was... very interesting to her.
"So we go there?" she asked pointing to the back door.

Amalirahc nodded. "And then inside ..."
He stood directly in front of the ship and carefully removed a panel which revealed its interior.
"There, that's where we would come in," he pointed carefully. "And then down those stairs ..."
He pointed out the various living quarters, the storage, and so on, and then suddenly he heard voices downstairs.
"Hey," he grinned, interrupting himself, "I think your parents are back!"

Miyuki's ears twitched a bit, and she could hear the faint voices from down below. Barely making out the familiar voices of her parents.
"Yay! They're back!" distracted completely she ran back downstairs to greet her parents.

Downstairs, Earendil was helping to empty the cart of the items that Arwen had asked him and Lin to collect for her: boxes and crates of supplies, everything from extra canvas for sail repairs to crates of nails and other building supplies, hammers and chisels, and more. At any rate, the boxes were very heavy, many of them well over a hundred pounds.
Earendil was stacking them in the living room, right up against the wall. Kelirahc and Roydon were also helping him to unload, and the door had been propped open for them to pass through easily.
"Ah, there she is," Earendil grinned when Miyuki came down the stairs. "I was wondering where you'd gone."

"Ada!"
Miyuki launched herself at him the moment she was sure he wasn't holding a box. She didn't know what was in those boxes but from the looks of it lots of things were in those boxes.
"Ama showed me the ship upstairs!"

Earendil laughed and caught Miyuki in his arms and hugged her tightly. "He did, did he?" he grinned. "Which one? All of them?"
He remembered Leyenda showing them to him and Lin the first time they had been there. She had been so young then, and so proud of her ships.

"The one we're going on!" she exclaimed, "He even showed me the insides."
Which was really exciting because she got an idea of how big it was even though she really couldn't imagine it that big.
"And.. and he showed me where we can get off the ship to swim, can I learn how to swim?"
Lin blinked at that, she had been more helping keeping the door open and making sure things were arranged. While she was strong from training even she had her limits.
"Swimming?"

Amalirahc grinned brightly. "Yeah! Mama taught me to swim, and if Miyuki could swim then we could swim together!"
Earendil looked at Lin. "Well ... we won't have time before the trip, and it's too dangerous to learn while we're on the ocean ..."
Maybe once they were on the island, where it was safer?

"Depending on what the island is like I suppose we could teach her there," Lin murmured.
She knew how to swim, but swimming meant pulling her wings in, which was something Lin didn't like to do unless she had to get changed.
"But we won't know until we get there...."
"So maybe at the island?" Miyuki was hopeful.
She wanted to swim on the ocean, but if her ada didn't seem to like the idea... then at least she would take what she could get.

"Maybe," Earendil nodded, turning back to Miyuki. "We can see what happens, see how things go. I can't promise you that you'll learn there, but I think we can promise that we'll try to make it happen."
He looked back at Lin. "Sound fair?"

Miyuki looked at her Mummi, even though she knew that in a way her Ada was saying that there would be no promises in terms of actually learning. Though she supposed it meant that she would eventually learn.
Lin nodded at this, it would actually be good for Miyuki to learn, something she should have actually back when she started walking but time and location prevented this.
"That sounds fair enough."
"Yay!"

Earendil smiled. "Good. Then how about you help your mother hold the door open so that we can keep carrying everything in, all right? We want to get this done by dinner so that we can get a good night's sleep before tomorrow when we leave."
He grinned at Miyuki.

It sounded like work, it was work, but it was work that made her useful. Miyuki nodded up and down, "I'll help! I'll be a big help!"
Even though as she would later discover holding the door open was the most boring job ever.

The job did end up taking up the rest of the afternoon, but once the job was finished Arwen and Leyenda had a good meal ready for all of them. Just as they were all sitting down to eat, the front door opened again and a male voice called out, "Wow, it looks like you've stocked half the city's supplies in here!"
"Nana-tol!" Amalirahc exclaimed excitedly, scrambling from his chair.
Earendil chuckled. "Sounds like someone else has grown up, too."

"Who's that?" Miyuki asked with a spoon in her mouth.
Lin gently took the spoon out of Miyuki's mouth gesturing to not do that, "That I'm guessing would be Celeb"
Miyuki stared blankly up at her mother.
