Kat made her way out into the parking lot, and sitting in the driver's seat of the van was Rook. He shot her a look with a raised eyebrow.
"Don't look at me like that."

Kat glared at him for a few seconds, before sticking out her tongue and sliding into the passenger seat. "You realize we would make much better time if I drove instead of navigated? And they're going to freak when they see you. I doubt they're aware the infamous shifter is now a slider."
Kat buckled her seatbelt, still holding onto a scowl.
Rook shrugged.
"I like driving. So, navigate. I'll let you go in first. Call when it's fine for me to step in, preferably after you explain that I've decided to go backslider." He replied, shifting the car into drive and headed out of the parking lot, "So, where am I headed?"

Maria waved at the car and trudged back into the house. She dropped heavily into a sofa and closed her eyes. "Just for a second..." she said. A second later...she was fast asleep.

( D'aaaww. Thank you! )

Tyson nodded thoughtfully at the suggestion, feeling it would server enough indication he agreed. It was hard enough to speak, but to speak so forcefully was burning his throat. Glancing at Mae again, he caught the look of disapproval, despite the solemness in her voice. "You're father's a wise man then," he responded, even though he didn't want to say something that went against his new friend's feelings to much. "The violent don't think clearly," he stated, standing to his feet again. As he did so he used the back of his arm to try and wipe the sweat from his brow, only to find out his arm was sweaty as well. On the sudden realization he was probably glistening in sweat, he asked a simple question in a very awkward manner, "May... uh... may I use your... well your shower? Uhm. Please?"

Tyson face lite up like a red light on a Christmas tree. It had been two weeks since his last shower. He didn't know how the subject had been pushed back for so long, but he probably smelled horrible. He couldn't tell. He was used to it, but that didn't mean he wasn't aware of his own hygiene. I probably smell like a wet dog dropped in a vat of Old Spice he thought to himself turning his head.

(XD Skulblaka, this is Mae and Tyson, but if you'd like a sudden appearance at the Chinese restaurant, you're welcome to it, I'll respond accordingly.))

Mae let out a short laugh. "The shower is yours, as is the soap. I can manage a fresh towel as well. It'd only be polite." She unwound herself from the couch, careful not to spill her tea in the process and stood up to walk towards the towel closet. She carefully sidestepped past a pile of books, without even looking at the floor. She knew the layout of the room well enough, and books were a forever part of her home's decor. "If you need a change of clothes, Ty--can I call you Ty?-- I can see what I can pull together. Might be some old band t-shirt and sweatpants though."

(Uhm, if you do make a sudden cameo, I'll change my post to fit it.)

"Thank you," Tyson managed to say, his throat starting to give away to the pain that often came from talking. This time around it was a little more intense. It was probably from projecting his voice so forcefully. "And, yes, Ty is fine," he answered. He followed her and was quick to whiz past Mae to grab a towel and then run off for the bathroom, locking himself in. The sound of water came soon afterward. Tyson bathed himself first and then let the water wash over him for several long minutes. He had used only the cold, under the impression that warm water came at the price of giving the next user an unwelcome wake-up call. He didn't care though; the water was relaxing after a workout like that, and being his first shower in ages, he was going to savor this as long as he could, which would be until he noticed his fingers were starting to prune up like crazy. With a sigh, he shut off the water and shook the water from his head like a shaggy dog.

Nothing like having a real shower that doesn't taste like seasalt.

Maya trudged through the door of the Chinese restaurant, looking like death warmed over. She had heard that some of the crew were coming here, so she hitched a ride with a shifty looking biker and decided to get some food. She pulled up a chair at a table in the corner, where she could watch everyone eat. After bringing a plate to her table, heaped with deliciousness, she carried on a conversation with the chopsticks in between bites. They had some interesting stories to tell.

Omar entered the Chinese restaurant and sat one table away from maya. He looked through the menu to choose what he wanted but he was so overwhelmed by all the tasty food on the menu. "Ay..Que...rico!!!!!!!!!!" So instead of ordering now he waited for Kat and the others to come along.

Tyson scurried from the bathroom back to the room he was in and closed the door quickly. He checked the room twice to make sure no one had dropped by while he wasn't there and made sure he had locked the door properly four times before derobing himself and changing into the other, fresher pair of "out-datted" designer pants, shirt and underlies. The pants were baggy at the bottom, crumpling up enough to occasionally slip in underneath his shoes, but not enough to upset him. The shirt was olive and on the front, a very detailed emblem of a crowned, golden lion standing on it's hind legs with its front paws clining to a silver fleur de leis.

Once dressed, the boy deodorized himself and set off for the lower levels of the restaurant, his mind swimming with thoughts of a cool drink dumplings. He was hungry, as always. But here he knew he'd be able to work his weight in food... or at least he hoped that's what he could do. As he came around the corner of the kitchen and into the area where customers were gathering, he paused to give a glance at the number of people who seemed to be present. Why so many people so early? He pondered. If he had a voice, he would have said it out loud as he mouthed his thoughts. Thankfully, though, he was mute, and he wasn't using his powers at the moment. Even if he wanted to, the pain from speaking with Mae earlier would likely make it hard to anyway.

"Hmm?" Maya asked. She looked around for a second before giving the chopsticks an odd look. "There's no one unusual here. Whatchu talkin' bout?" Finally it clicked. The dude who came down from upstairs. "So? What about him? He probably lives here. No? How could you tell? You were in a package!" She sighed, put the chopsticks on her plate, and stood up. "Worth a shot..." She casually walked past Tyson, but made sure to catch his leg with her own, sending her plummeting to the ground. After wriggling about for a second, she turned to him and shouted "WTF man?!" If the sticks were right, she just bagged another one.

Tyson eyes narrowed as he returned her glance. Then he began to smirk, as if he knew what she had just tried to do. He pointed to one of her arms and to his hand which was grasping her upper arm from just above the elbow. She had tripped, but she hadn't hit the floor completely. He had "saved her." Forcibly pulling the much taller girl to her feet as if it were nothing. He then retracted his hands before she could shove him off. Stepping back, he gave her a once-over and pretty much guessed she was the shady type. Glancing back at her face, he titled his eyes and raised a curious brow. Her eyes; That was most defiantly unusual and unnatural in his opinion. I wonder if she's like me. He pushed the thought aside rather quickly.

Instead of shrugging, of her question, he turned his back, crossed his arms, and took a seat at the counter as if to say "you did it to yourself," which she did. Could he talk, he would have made a snide remark as well. But neither wanting to give himself away nor having this event play out like some country western, he kinda enjoyed the fact that he couldn't say anything. In fact, him not being able to say anything gave him an air that he was less than impressed by her actions.

Caught between a grin and a gasp, Maya was torn. On one hand, the damn kid hadn't said a thing, but on the other, he hadn't let her fall. That was definitely something. She sat on a stool next to him and listened closely. There was something amiss here, and she aimed to find out what. "Thanks for catching me. And uh...Sorry 'bout all the yelling. I guess I was a bit startled." She scratched the back of her neck nervously and unbuttoned her trench coat. She completely forgot that she was wearing a short halter top that did nothing to disguise the wound she sustained.

He held up his hand an shook it in a manner in which to say, "not a problem." It was really the only thing he could do short of signing out the words, which he wouldn't do because there were very few people who could keep up... or even know what he was trying to do. When the woman sat next to him, he gave her another glance over, this time peeking over his shoulder. She was weird, to him. But he figured he was already an interesting character by the way she continued to pester him, or what he considered to be pestering. As the trench fell open, which he could not resist the urge to look being of male gander and having those tenancy all teenage boys have, noticed the scar. He raised a brow and simply lift a hand to point. His cocked brow and general mannerism more gave stated the question on the front of his mind. Where'd you get THAT?
