Jen sighed again... and looked up at banda from the floor... Banda was trying not to laugh at him... "yes.... thank you. I'm a clutz lately... Eveything I do I do wrong... " Jen was signing as he spoke... "I'm sorry ... I was calling myself crazy... well I was telling you that I wasn't crazy... I'm Jen..." He spelled it Fen... F after all was very close to J... He picked himself up off the floor... "What are you reading? Mind if I come back up on the sofa?"
((noooooo...!!!!!! We love Isto and he is NOT a freak! > sad ))

Isto laughed aloud with her statement, grinning his thanks as the sound faded away. "You hit it right on the mark, my friend." ((Moo: HEEEEEEY)) Still chuckling softly, he returns his eyes to the water, then abruptly flops down backwarsd to lay on the grass, staring up at the cloud-splashed sky. "You've no idea how many would disagree with you."
Ahh, now he understood. But he was still a bit confused... Jen's lips had said Jen, but his paws had said Fen. Which was it? Banda decided he would just avoid saying Jen's name as much as possible, then ask Isto tonight when he got home. "I'm Banda. The book... It's called 'House of the Scor-pie-on'. Isto gave it to me." He'd never heard the word 'scorpion', and hadn't had a chance to figure out what they were....so he was pretty close, right?

(( blaugh )) jen looked down at the book.... "That's Isto's favorite book isn't it? That's the one about genetics..... " Jen stared at the book "is it any good? Does it really have scorpions in it? " He looked at Banda who was looking at him strangely... Jen blushed again wondering what he had done now...

After speaking, he silently reeated the word 'Scorpion' a few more times, just to be sure he was mouthing it right. If you mouthed things right, they came out right...usually. When he looked back up, Jen was blushing for some reason. Banda tilts his head sideways, blinking. "Did I do something?"
((Now brb, it stopped raining...and I haveta clean my bird cage))

Banda puffed up proudly when Jen told him he was saying it right. He listens...watches carefully as Jen continues, nodding sagely as if he saw scorpions every day. "That's kinda how they're described in the book, so I think you're prolly right. But, see, there aren't many scorpions in the book, just people whose last name means scorpion."

Jen turns to look at Banda... "But it's got clones in it and that's almost just as good as bugs with tails.... " He stares straight ahead thinking about Aunt Em's Scorpions... he signs since he's not looking at Banda "I think I'll try and get my Aunt's Scorpion skelletons so you can see them..." Jen turns and grins at Banda

"Good point....Clones are weird. Isto says all the SMs we know are clones, 'cause Quiet harvests them for parts to make new ones, or summat." Banda seemed rather confused by this statement... He was probably mixing it up somehow. Oh well. A slow grin spreads across his face as he reads the paw signals, cheerfully replying. "Thanks! You speak SMSL good. Not many know how..."

Odd found himself distracted by a somewhat bird outside as Essence talked to Isto. He climbed up on the window sill, crouching down and leaping out onto the lawn. The bird flew from it's perch on a tree branch and soared low over the infant skull monkey. Odd lept up, coming short, and scampered after the sparrowhawk, intent on capturing it if only to stare at. He had no idea of how he could catch it, but that didn't worry him.

((my host is broken... but I actually drew out the alphabet... which you can have since I drew it for Banda's interview... but not until the host is up again sweatdrop )) But it taught me a lot... it's by this grown up Skull Monkey named Wendy... she's green..." Jen looks at his paws... then at banda.... "Hey what's the sign for green anyway?... not the spelling I mean... the sign... "
