You can create your own info thread here in the RP forum, buddy. Just make sure you name it accordingly... And that's all I can think of.

As for the people. like I said, I'm willing to help you out as much as I can. I don't know about Izzy...Personally, I don't even know if he's even played Fire Emblem.... Which is odd, since I've known the guy for years.

IZZY! MOVE BACK DOWN HERE WITH ME! crying

Nah, but seriously, we've also got Kal on our side, who's a total ******** GENIUS!!! Of AWESOMENESS!!! But I dunno if she's played it either, and well, that's up to her. XD

And Crush? Well, Crush doesn't do much of anything on here. Not a big internet fan.

*sigh* I wish Lightwater and Anarki were still around....

Hm. I've been trying to decide whether or not to add laguz before I post this thing. Thoughts?

My thoughts are, I LOVE laguz! ^_^

I would vote yes. But yeah, it is your creation, after all. Also, wouldn't they have to have their own country/ies? Or maybe you could make a backstory thing explaining that in some way...? Hm, so many possibilities!
PostPosted: Fri Dec 09, 2011 5:09 pm

I suppose I could give them a country, but where to put it? I hadn't factored any laguz in at the outset of the story itself.

Also, I'd have to deny any dragon laguz...since, you know, the twins would become a bit less imposing. I would say the dragons exist in a different dimension (like in Fire Emblem 6 and 7).

That's an interesting idea! Yeah, just having the beasts and birds would work.

As for the country thing, I'm not sure what to tell you.

If not them all have their own country, you could make it so that there's one or two countries that have a populous of laguz living alongside, or within a certain proximity to, the beorc. You know, the way Begnion was before the massacre and all that jazz.

Have you drawn a map yet?

The only FE game I played was Radiant Dawn, and even that was brief (was visiting cousins and it happened to be there) so I only got to the encounter with the Black Knight in the woods. That's abou all I can remember, since he could insta-kill pretty much any foe.

It is unfortunate, but I cannot draw. The best I got is the spaced continent map I showed you which isn't necessarily even scale either.

I'd need to do some editing, but sure I can add laguz. I could see them fitting well into the desert and nomadic regions. The problem is that I haven't yet grasped how exactly the story will progress from my introductions. Also, my conception of this RP is flawed given that many characters would be required and people generally don't like picking more than two or three OC's. Just like in Fire Emblem, the characters would need to have relatively short histories (besides main ones), distinguishable personalities, and of course the means to change the entire world even though they can permanently die in the process (as opposed to other games with 'temporary' dying). There's also controlling these multiple characters at once that's an issue as well as having them interact since...you know, you created them and it's no fun interacting with yourself. Thus character development is made difficult even in the form of supports (which usually serve as the only means of development in the story) given that you can't quite support with yourself.

Phew, I poked holes all over my own RP proposal. As always, I'm open to remodeling this whole thing. I think it could be fun in the end, but getting it started with such issues is definetly a challenge in itself.

Anyway, I posted an informational thread. I'm not quite ready to post the introductionary post to the RP (since I would have to make another thread for that and I still have issues that need to be addressed). I wonder if there's anyone that would be interested in helping me with planning and whatnot?

Lastly, here's something I can offer to make things a bit easier despite all the issues: I can make maps with RPG VX when it comes time for that. I won't be making a World Map because that's way too large scale for me, but battlefield maps I can do. Some samples of stuff I've already done.

http://i895.photobucket.com/albums/ac155/someone34/Ship.png

http://i895.photobucket.com/albums/ac155/someone34/Inn-1.png

I can also use RPG VX to make cutscenes - in fact, I already have for the post following the introduction post I already showed Banshee.

I could probably help you with drawing the world map. I'd just need to know everything it contains.

First I'd need story and RP set up properly and the map itself finalized. I'm the first to admit it's a complicated thing to RP this particular series the way I have it set up. Really, it's not Fire Emblem without many units and a story that involves the whole world.

Augh, having trouble building my Hylian character. I've got the first section (name and stuff) completed, as well as an image and style of fight, but other than that, I can't think of much. This really isn't like me!

*headdesk* what is wrong with me?

Maybe I spent it all on building dungeons...

Hooboy, lotsa work here. As you might be able to tell, Demon, I've got a lot of work to do myself with the Zelda RP. HOWEVER, slowly (but surely), I will help you get this thing kickstarted. First of all, either Kal or I will let the information you gave me about all the continents stew in our brain alongside boundless imagination for a while until we get the most perfect world map idea. And then we'll draw it. So you don't have to worry about that. ^_^

Yes, it's true, Fire Emblem just isn't Fire Emblem without a massive amount of characters and a worldwide story. But you don't have to stress over the big picture 24/7. For a start, just for now, try to come up with a smaller plot with a few people that will eventually (in some way that you shouldn't try to worry about just yet) end up going around the world, fighting and saving the day getting more and more people and all that jazz. And then, on the side of that, one usually comes up with a character or group of characters that will be the main antagonist(s), with some kind of plot involving something or other evil (such as King Ashnard plotting worldwide war to awaken the Fire Emblem and all that jazz). But you already have that, from what I read (unless you want to scrap that and rewrite with something else like you said; that's your choice, because like I said, you have full freedom over this thing).

So what you'll have is, a little heroic something going on at one corner of the continent, and a seemingly evil something that will quickly unveil as a very big evil something over there at the other side.... Or the same side, if you wanna go the FFIV route. Whatever floats your Red Wings. And PRESTO! You've got the beginnings of an epic of epic epicness. All that's left is, well, the rest of the story! Which will build and build as the RP unfolds.

Really, there's no need to sweat everything all at once. Take it step by step. Y'know, like the song. And remember to breathe. ^_^

Also, like I said, I'm constructing a new thread (possibly two; we'll see if they let me make one in the Video Games forum) to see if anyone's interested. Hopefully, we'll have the place crawling with writers eager to help us soon. But we'll just have to see.

Now, on to Kallori. I'm sorry to hear about your apparent block, Kal! As a fellow writer, I feel your pain. crying

As a remedy, I'm officially recommending that you don't work on any more dungeons or projects for at least a month, or until you feel much much much much much MUCH better. Captain's orders. XD

For now, just relax, breathe, take long walks in the forest (or whatever geographical feature you live near), and just plain chill. Do a lot of breathing and relaxing, and have some fun celebrating....um... whatever Winter holiday you celebrate, if any. Christmas? Solstice? Yule? Hanukkah? ...Saturnalia?

Anyway, yeah, smell some pine trees, drink some hot chocolate, and bite the living hell outta some gingerbread men. emotion_awesome

Trust me, there'll still be plenty of awesomeness left for you to take care of later. XD

Hm. I'll make the RP forum and post the first two things. I'm feeling quite lazy right now (and studying for a Final) so I won't fix up the egregious errors I have in them.

lol. good plan, a month-long break over the holidays? what timing!
But yeah, I don't exctly feel like making another anytime soon, even IF I'm in the mood.

I also finished the skelly, and gonna send it in soon.

It's Christmas for me.

Note: Check the Stone of Calamity thread again, I've just made an edit with the other part of the story content.

Woohoo!

Christmas, eh? Awesome, I'll make a note of that. I celebrate the Winter Solstice, and also Christmas because it's a family tradition and I'd probably be disowned if I didn't, gwahaha! Also Yule, to an extent, as in usually I light a Yule log or something; also, since mass society these days has likened to mixing it WITH the Solstice and calling it the same thing, I tend to use whichever word for it these days. Bad habit.

@Demon: Hey, Finals are nothing to play around with, so I don't blame you for being lazy. I remember when I was still in high school.... My freshman year, I think it was, I missed a lot of weeks of school because I had to get my appendix ripped out. ******** me over real bad... and that was just at Midterm time!

Wow, double ramble. Ah well. Stick a fork in me, I'm done.
