"So you're the one." Kahaba said looking Duraz over. "My mother is a very special woman. I hope you realize that." He fixed Duraz with an icy stare. "If you hurt her in the slightest, this will be your new home." His tone was calm but threatening.

Dispite what Kahaba had said Duraz remained smiling, he then began to laugh "In all my life I haven't heard anyone say anything like that," he then looked directly into Kahaba's eyes with his insane stare "And I've lived a very, very long time."

After gathering his things from the guild house, Reivan left the trade city followed by a small group of attendants. these extras were mainly for show along with the baggage they carried, but if he was to make his image of a diplomat believable they were a necessary addition to his travels. few whispers were spoken about the assassin lord's departure but soon the matter settled and shifted to more pressing gossip, mainly the sudden abundance of doll sightings around the market...

Maovu shifted uncomfortably. "Duraz is part of our family now." She said in a quiet voice. Maovu had expected some difficulty introducing Duraz to Kahaba but she had no idea what she would do in the event of a fight. She whimpered and sank into a corner. The prospect of the two people she loved most hurting one another was too much to bear. "Please..." Maovu squeaked.

Duraz turned to Maovu and adjusted himself "I'm sorry, I didn't mean to upset you," he then turned back to Kahaba "You can be sure I won't harm her Kahaba and if it will please you..." He drew one of his scalpels and held it to one of his fingers "I'll remove one of my fingers as a sign of trust."

"No!" Maovu practically screamed. "No, your word is enough." She said in a calmer tone. Maovu turned to Kahaba. "You have his word and my judgement. What more could you need?" The toy maker's voice took on an unnatural authority. Her will flooded the building. Kahaba's dolls slowed suddenly. Kahaba was a master doll maker but Maovu's will was second to none. The force of it made some of Kahaba's more sensitive customers nauseous. In her desperate state, Maovu's will was like a thick smoke hanging in the air. Smothering everything else.

Duraz let his anger subside and slid the scalpel back into his sash, as he did he picked up some new thought patterns. Though they were fainter than most he could just make them out. The strange voice was contacting someone, they apparently had trouble with their S's but besides that the message was quite clear. "....Uoe...? Who is Uoe?"

Kahaba recoiled at his mother's distress. "F-forgive me, Mother." He muttered sheepishly. Maovu's displeasure made his blood run cold. Eager to change the subject, Kahaba answered Duraz's question. "Uoe seems to be some sort of god. A few of my customers have mentioned it in whispers. I know nothing more about it." He said, trying desperately to maintain control.

Ever since the recent takeover of the Revenancer's temple by the Serpent Lord, there was a rapid increase in the number of Yuan-ti roaming the streets of Au'shinduago and doing business. Some muttered rumors of an invasion, others gossiped of some kind of pact made with one of the ruling houses. Few knew the truth, few knew of the events that the Enigmatic Guildmaster of Xukuth D'roesor had put into motion. Those who did know the truth dissapeared. Zehir himself had returned to his home in the Abyss to deal with another issue on the surface in his stead he left an anethema, a living, sentient mass of snakes infused with the will of the assassin god. "it won't belong before the ruling houses notice this abundance of our kind." it hissed to the gathered high priests, "when th etime comes, we must use diplomacy as the emmisary would undergo. It is not yet time for a war."
