"You were the one who left the safety of the mountain," Armus shrugged, "I'd say you brought this on yourself. Keep the scar as a reminder of your own stupidity, and maybe the next time you get such a brilliant idea you'll be smarter and won't listen to yourself."

Now thoroughly annoyed with Ruran, she turned her attention to Rhea and Aras. "Come on, you two," she called to them, motioning to them with her hands. "Time for training."

Aras turned her head and licked Rhea's cheek before rising to her feet and taking his hand, and walking with him towards Armus, making sure to avoid Ruran as much as possible.

As Kanis continued to punch his hands, Corrah closed his fingers around her fists so that she would be forced to stop hitting him.

"Then rest," he told her softly, his voice almost tender. "Overworking yourself will only put you back, not ahead. Where are your arms sore?"

Perhaps he could help her out a bit.

Ruran was trying to be nice and he was being sincere but the human did not listen. His hate deepened and he would make her regret it. He would make them all pay. He watched them move and grabbed another fruit and ate in quickly before standing, "Is it not your job to train all of us?" His anger gave him the strength to stand and ignore his pain.

Rhea smiled at the lick and wanted to pounce Aras in play but he held back as she took his hand. He hated walking up right even if he was holding the lovely hand of his partner. But he was growing more use to it the more she made him walk that way.

Kanis look at her hands a bit shocked and sighed, "Yes sir...sorry." She looked at her arms and felt the soreness start to set in. "My upper arm mainly sir." She enjoyed listening to his voice when it was soft as much as when it was cruel. She was always in awe and respect for Corrah. He could have been the only to break her bones and she still would support and respect him.

"Train you, yes," Armus replied over her shoulder, not slowing down at all, "but that's it. I'm not going to give you any special treatment, or baby you, or even pretend to support your idea to take your sisters' skin. I'm here to train you. You want training, quit your whining and come with me."

She was getting so sick and tired of Ruran - it always amazed her how even a few short minutes in his presence could set her temper off.

Aras's hand tightened around Rhea's. "Come on," she whispered to him quietly. "We'd better hurry up before Armus gets really mad."

Corrah nodded and released Kanis's hands, moving swiftly to kneel behind her.

"Just relax," he murmured softly, his voice soothing and comforting. He put his hands on her arms and began to massage them gently, working out the stiffness in her muscles. "We'll be working again later, so just take the moment to regain your strength."

Ruran really wanted to hurt Armus something fierce. She was really getting on his nerves but he held his tongue and followed them with only a slight wince every now and then. "And may I ask why you are the one training us? Corrah too busy playing with my wounded sister? I bet he is having fun with her." he said under his breath.

Rhea nods and followed quickly after Armus his feet more sure and his hand holding tightly to Aras'. He would never let her go. He loved her far too much.

Kanis was shocked at Corrah's speed and without her meaning too a gasp came from her lips as a heated blush flushed her face, at his words and the touch of his hands.

She watched the ground in front of her and nods, "So one should stretch out and relax the muscles after one works them...so it helps them get stronger and so they can be ready sooner for the next lesson? Is that right sir?" she asked gently.

She wanted to lean back into him and his working hands to just relax but she could not allow herself to do that. It was not about enjoying it it was about training and getting strong so she could return to her cave and be out of Corrah's hair again.

The thought of Coorah's hair made her think of that wonderful think hair cascading down and blocking the world from her view, of Corrah's beautifully scared body wet with water above her and the magic calused hands working her muscles and her fading blush returned and she bit her lip. "I am sorry sir... that you have to go threw so much trouble with me, I am sure you would rather be working and training all of us not just one of us."

She had to focus on training. She was not even sure why she though of her master like that and she felt guilt for thinking that way.

As they reached the clearing, Armus turned around and slapped Ruran across the face, her expression filled with fury.

"Your sister can't even move, thanks to you!" she snapped, her fingers curling into fists as her temper grew even hotter. "You snapped her bone right in half! For the next several days, yes she will require constant attention - if you don't want me to be your trainer during that time then you might as well leave and get yourself killed because you won't be getting any training at all!"

Her face was red by this time, her cheeks flushed from her angry, and she gritted her teeth trying to hold herself back. She wanted nothing more at the moment than to teach this brat a lesson that he would never forget.

As Armus began to shout, Aras stopped walking and turned to Rhea, her eyes filled with fear. She hadn't seen Armus angry before, and it scared her ...

"Do we have to go to her?" she asked Rhea in a quiet, scared whisper. "She's awfully mad ..."

Corrah nodded back at Kanis. "If you don't properly rest your muscles," he replied, "you'll only tear them and make yourself weaker. Taking care of your body is the most important part of training, whether it's by properly feeding it, watering it, resting it, or cleaning it."

When she apologized again, he chuckled softly. "Kanis, I told you it wasn't your fault ..."

Ruran instintivly graped his check as the hard slap turned his head. He smiled and started to laugh. Even as Armus' words sprayed forth like venom, he could not stop himself from laughing. Clearly he had found her trigger. "And just asking why are you not the one giving her attention. Corrah's focus should be on those of us who are healthy and your should be helping the injured...you have a much nicer bed side manner I am sure."

Rhea ears lowered. "I can not leave pack mother alone with him...Armus will calm with us with her." he said and started to walk again pull Aras with him lightly.

He move just to where they would be in view of the others and stopped.

Kanis chewed her bottom lip a bit, "Yes sir...sorry...." She still watched the ground. "So what training should we do next sir?"

Armus set her jaw angrily and had to fight not to hit the boy again.

"I'm no healer, and Corrah knows it," she replied shortly. "Sure, I can do a bit of emergency first aid, but after that I'd just make it worse."

As for bedside manner, did he honestly think she had the patience to do something like that? She was a fighter, nothing more. She spotted Rhea and Aras and forced herself to calm down. Those two at least she had to teach properly ...

Aras followed closely behind Rhea, holding his hand tightly for comfort and courage.

Corrah smiled and continued his massage of her arms. "If you would like," he said softly, "I can teach you defense ... it may be a bit challenging at the beginning, but I think you would benefit from it."

Ruran laughs, "Well nice to hear someone finally admitt that they are not the best." he turned and looked at the other two children. His hands dropped and tighten into a fist. He did not like the sight of them together. He knew if he ordered Aras to drop the wolf's hand she would not and he could not take Rhea yet...

Rhea smiled and looked over Armus, "Are you alright Armus."

Kanis nods, "that would be fine sir unless you wish to teach me something else. Or we can rest. After all I am sure you want to check on the others too sir...I will be fine here."

"Do you want to train or not?" Armus snapped at Ruran, folding her arms across her chest. She looked over at Rhea and Aras. "Come on, today I'm going to let you spar," she told them. "Rhea, with Ruran, Aras with me."

She gave Rhea a look that read, Do what you want. She didn't care what happened to Ruran, or about the fact that he was injured - but she wasn't going to set Ruran free on his sister, either. She trusted Rhea to take care of himself.

Aras looked at Rhea worriedly. "Go on," she encouraged him softly, squeezing his hand once before letting it go. "I'll be okay ... you be careful, I don't want you to get hurt ..."

Corrah smiled softly. "You rest, then," he nodded, releasing her arms. "I will wash quickly and then check on you, then check on the others and come back again."

He took a dagger from his bag and handed it to Kanis. "In case anything comes," he told her seriously. "But be careful with it ... and don't hesitate to call me for any reason."

Ruran smiled brightly as Rhea let go of his sister and moved over towards him. Rhea didn't know how to fight he just had a wild advantage. He would not lose to the wolf...at least not with hurting him back!

Rhea smiles to Aras and lets her hand go dropping to all fours and walking over towards Ruran. he nodded to Aras understanding what she ment.

Kanis took the dagger and nods, "Yes sir...please enjoy your bath." she said and held the dagger looking it over. Even if it was a training dagger it was a beautiful one. She focused her mind on the dagger and not on the idea of Corrah wet again.

Armus glared at Ruran and headed over to join Aras, making sure that she would keep the boys in her view at all times so that she could keep an eye on them and stop them if their spar became too much for either one of them.

"All right, Aras," she said calmly, placing the girl between herself and the boys, "let's go. Attack me."

Aras wasn't quite sure what exactly she was supposed to do, but she stepped forward and tried to punch Armus obediently.

Corrah nodded and headed off into the woods, opening his robes as he went. The river where he would wash was not far away at all, and he would be easily within hearing range of Kanis if something happened.

When he reached the water, he tossed his robe to the side and stepped in. The water was refreshing, and a little cold, but it didn't bother him. He simply washed himself from head to toe and left the water again. He picked up his robe, separated the inner layer of the bottom half from the rest of it and put that part on, then knelt at the water's edge and washed his robes.

Once he was finished, he made his way back towards the clearing where he had left Kanis, his hair still dripping water, his wet robes over one arm, wearing only the thin half-layer from his waist down.

Rhea turned to look at Armus, "Any style of attacking Arrrmus?" He asked softly. He was listening to Ruran as he turned his head so he was ready to jump to the side and allow Ruran's punch and body to go sailing by him.

His tail wagging just a bit. Ruran was a coward it seemed. Attacking when Rhea's back was turned.

Ruran watched as Rhea turned and wail the wolf was distracted he aim a punch for the wolf. And as Rhea moved Ruran had to struggle to get his balance it was going to be hard hitting such a low target. He was not happy with this. So as he did loose his balance he grabbed a stick.

Kanis was looking over the blade and feeling it in both hands She held it in different positions being careful of the blade and smiled as she found a nice balance of the wait in her hand that felt right.

If she listened hard enough she could hear the water and Corrah, so she tried to think of something else. She sighed a bit and placed the dagger down. She really was so far behind her siblings. Ruque when she saw him last was already learning so quickly and lots of healing arts. And Ruran and Aras seemed so adult. Aras was so much better looking physically. And flawless.

Kanis pulled away her small chest covering as sighed. She was going to be flatter than her mother. She let the shirt snap back and then looked at her leg. She would scar but Corrah was so very kind. She felt herself wanting Corrah to look at her the way Rhea looked at her sister.

She shook her head. No that would not do. She had to get her mind straight. And she was just a kid. Not ever appetizing. She laughed softly and shifted moving her leg to a new potion. She then turned to start punching at the bedding material practicing her blows.

Armus almost laughed as Ruran's attack missed, even though he had attacked Rhea from behind.

"Any style," she nodded at Rhea, her eyes glinting mischievously as she blocked Aras's punch. Then she turned back to Aras and smiled. "Harder," she instructed. "Try to really hit me."

Aras's brow furrowed in concentration, and she drew her fist back and tried again, this time aiming for Armus's side rather than her stomach.

When Corrah returned to the clearing, he saw Kanis still training herself and a slow smile spread across his face. She would do well ... he knew it just as surely as he knew her name. She would do well.

"Keep going like that," he called softly, hanging his dripping robes from a low tree branch, "and you'll out-fight your siblings any day."

Then he leaned forward and shook his head like a dog, spraying water from his hair all over the place. Once he was satisfied that it was dry enough, he flipped it back over his head so that it spilled over his bare shoulders. Water droplets trickled down over his scarred body, gleaming in the morning sunlight, and with every movement he made his muscles rippled below his skin, almost as if they themselves were as alive as he.

Rhea nods and his eyes grew more wolf like a look only Aras had seen in them before. He started to move more animal like even as Ruran started to attack him with a stick.

Ruran crused under his breath and swung at the wolf it was a side ways swing which Rhea ducked and when he came back around Rhea jumped it. When he tried to swing in an upward slice Rhea caught the stick he bit it and broke it growling a bit. "Fight like a man you stupid wolf!"

Kanis jumped a bit but she continued to punch. "Thank you sir...I will try and make your proud. She turned to look at him and her heart stopped. It was like the water all over again. She admired his back as he hung his robe her eyes trailing over the scars wishing she could be over there running her hands over them feeling his perfect muscles.

As he started to shake his hair her eyes moved down and she moved her hand to cover a gasp as she saw the under robe cling almost perfectly to his body. His tight curves and muscles. She felt her pulse racing and a strange feeling moving threw her body. She wanted so back to turn away but she could not stop looking at him.

Armus was distracted, watching Rhea and Ruran, and Aras's punch caught her unawares, hitting her just below her rib.

"Ah," she gasped softly, her eyes widening in surprise. "Wow ... that wasn't too bad ..."

She rubbed her side and grinned at Aras, now paying attention only to her. "Good. Now again - and this time I won't be distracted and you won't have it so easy."

Aras grinned back at Armus. She was starting to enjoy herself - now that she knew that Armus was indeed hittable.

Corrah was completely unaware of Kanis's eyes on him, and he leaned slightly to one side, bringing his hair in front of his shoulder. He ran his fingers through it, trying to pull through all the knots, the muscles of his arms tensing as he did so. It took him a while, but eventually he got all of the knots out, and then he flipped his hair back over his shoulder and turned back to Kanis.

"Resting?" he asked her, raising one eyebrow, accentuating one scar that ran through his eye and into his hairline.
