((I don't understand. How can they drag Jubei down the stairs, if Jubei was outside?))
Mai felt herself being ripped away from her dream world, and was blinded by a light. She felt tugging at her skin, and a searing pain all over her body. There was also a cool sensation, trying to put out the raging fire that covered her wounds.
Opening her eyes partially, Mai saw medics around her, each with a green glow to their hands.
They're.. healing me..
She didn't feel any different. Just really tired. And she felt her chakra basically gone. Which probably wasn't good.
What had happened?
Then, it came to her. Hurting Rikou, the fire, the explosion.. the... fight.
And then her body hitting the ground.
She groaned softly.
Then, in her squinted line of vision, Mai saw her mother's face, and her pink hair.
Mai, realizing this was her, and not that little b***h inside of her body, closed her eyes again, wanting to fade back into unconciousness.
"Sasuke, she woke up."
"Hn."
"The healing isn't done yet.. Should we call Kiku back, to put her to sleep again? The medics and I kind of have our hands full.
"I'll get them."
Mai felt a strong wind, and then the burning was back, along with that faint healing power.
Sasuke appeared beside the two girls, who were dragging Jubei.
"Kiku, Mai's just woken up. I want you to go back and put her to sleep again." Sasuke asked this quite pleadingly. Even though he wasn't keen on showing his emotions, he still worried about his daughter.
Then, he walked off again, into the room where Akira, Rikou, Emi, and Ibaraki were.
"Mai is seriously injured, but will live."
You never go Your always here Under my skin Fading slowly..

shoot, I posted before I saw what happened. Edit!
Kiku nodded, dropping her brother where he lay before going back to where Mai was waking up. Surely and quickly she slipped out her steel needles and started poking and prodding the proper places to keep the girl incapacitated.

KudaKitsuneRikku "We could kick him down the stairs?" Kiku suggested, before doing just that and watching him thump down afew flights before coming to a rest in frhe door that led to the downstairs room.
"You wanna try next?" Kiku asked her teammate. ((Am I the only one confused as to how they got from outside, to the top of the stairs, on the second floor of the tower?

((I have absolutely no idea. We've been having a lot of confusion with where people actually are. sweatdrop ))
Emi was getting more annoyed with Ibaraki by the second. But at least he had stopped hitting on her.
Hearing something, she looked towards the door, and saw Sasuke entering the room.
"Mai is seriously injured, but will live."
Emi sighed with relief, glad to hear that Mai was okay. She shot a look at Akira, and then smiled at Sasuke.
"Arigato, Uchiha-sama. It's good to know she'll be alright."

Sasuke nodded. Face blank.
Akira sighed in relief, not paying attention to Emi's look.
"Yes, that's really good news Sasuke." Akira said in response, then smiled as well.

Kaede observed the brief transactions between the Uzumaki acupuncturist and the Uchiha legend with unconcerned eyes, then turned to take charge of the surroundings when both of them left. Though she and her teammate had dragged the eldest Uzumaki a considerable way through the forest, there were still some marks left in reference to the battle that had occurred. A scorch mark from passing Chidori, shredded leaves from the Rasengan... The birds had only just begun to sing again in hopes that the danger had passed. The Aburame leaned against a nearby mossy tree, fanning herself lazily. Time passed so slowly here...

"I'm glad to hear she is going to live..."
Rikou was very happy to hear such news, but this deep guilt kept haunting him as he thought of Mai's well being; one side wanted her to die. This was Rikou's mind planning against himself. Mai threatened all of his friends and this played against Rikou's fear of being alone, but on the other hand Mai was one of his friends that he didn't want to die. It was very confusing and Rikou wished he could drown the thoughts with food, but there wasn't anything to eat that he knew of nearby. He also wanted to help Mai recover, but all the Akimichi knew in forms of healing were proper food diets and what foods could serve to aid the healing process. Rikou wasn't in the condition to cook anything for Mai and he doubt there was a kitchen nearby with the right ingredients. The Akimichi always kept kitchens supplied with even the oddest ingredients to make any dish. Rikou was a ninja first and a cook second. Since Rikou didn't want to marry based on how good his wife could cook like his father did with Rikou's mother, he himself took up cooking. He made his own dishes, many of which were based on enhancing Jutsu performance. Rikou named all of his dishes on clans, from the Uchiha Soup that increased Fire Based Jutsu to the Hyuuga Ramen that increased the users muscle reflexes for Taijutsu. These foods require very specific ingredients and no normal kitchen ever had any. Rikou didn't have time to prepare any of his dishes since making them required at least a full day of preparation before being ready to serve. These thoughts only made Rikou feel more useless, since trying to cook with an injury even if he had the ingredients and the kitchen, would be far too difficult.

Emi frowned, wondering when Akira got on such good terms with Sasuke. Or maybe he was one of those people who acted like he was close friends with everybody.
"Hey, Ibaraki...kun. How long until you get Rikou fixed up? I want to go see Mai."
Realizing how that sounded, and not wanting to set Rikou off again, she struggled to make the statement sound a bit better.
"Err...I mean...it's just..."
There's no way to make that sound better.

Ibaraki gave a start, he'd been too amazed at hearing about his sister to realize he was still healing someone up.
"Oh, yeah he should be good to go until he gets to a real medic or something," Ibaraki said, hasitly finishing his work before jumping up and bouncing around like a child on pixie sticks.
"C'mon c'mon," He waved. "Mai's needing company let's go!"

((Oh god. How does Sasuke deal with it all? gonk Are we sure they didn't get the children mixed up at the hospital? And possibly Kiku is the rightful Uchiha!? xd ))
Sasuke sighed.
Hmph. Why do I even put up with this?
"Mai does still have the Genjutsu cast on her. Apparently, she's managed to put it a bay, for now. If you want to go to the hospital with us, then fine, but Mai's being put unconcious again, for safety reasons." The Uchiha male explained, in his regular monotone voice.

"Its alright Emi, I'm just glad you are here...Not as much as I can say for Hiro today."
Rikou was still a bit upset about Hiro, he was still off somewhere while people could be using his help here or his support. At least Emi was here to make Rikou feel better that at least someone cared.
"Thanks Ibaraki, lets go see Mai, I feel much better thanks to you."
Rikou stood up and strenched to get his muscles moving again since he was sitting around against the wall for so long. After this event, Rikou planned to try to create some kind of healing food, probably name it after Mai's mother since she herself was quite good at healing. It had to be something better then merely a food with healing in the title.

((I'd accuse Sakura of having an affair, but she loves Sasuke too much. xD))
Where is Hiro? He left to look for Rikou, too, even before I did. It isn't like him to just...up and vanish.
I'm sure he'll turn up eventually. He probably fell asleep, or something like that.
Emi gathered up the remaining bandages and shoved them into her pack, along with everything else she had dumped out. She stood up, dusted off her skirt, and walked towards the door. Reaching it, she turned to look back at Ibaraki and Rikou, completely ignoring Akira's existence once again.
"Well? Let's go."

"C'mon c'mon!" Ibaraki said, "Save your thanks for later!"
Without another word he bounced off to where the three scariest women he'd ever met were waiting. And strangely enough he couldn't stay away from a single one of them.
'I need my head examined.'
Kiku moved away from the teen she'd been working on, tired of dealing with the Uchiha. But now she had nothing to do. Wait, that wasn't exactly true, she had Kakashi-sensei's book...
She pulled the orange book from her hip pouch and started reading. She was in the middle of a really good part.
