kazuma tried to hold back laughter when Hanabira mentioned they made a good team. " Hah! Tanu a team player?! That's a good one Hana-chan!" He let the laughter out as he glanced back to Tanu. If she wanted to act like that then Kazuma wouldn't hold back. "Hm? Oh well that's why I'm here, I'm on a mission to cure this funky illness he's got!" He'd pushed the concern for his brother to the back of his mind, there was nothing he could do till Aya found out what was wrong. Moving on from the subject he took interest in Hanabira's bow. " Hey I didn't know you used one of those. You've gotta be really strong to draw one of those properly. Kinda like with swinging this thing around." He stated as he lowered the katana from his shoulders and made a mock swing of it.

Hanabira didn't quite understand how relaxed Kazuma could be when his brother had some sort of illness, but after her studying of people for a technique she was contemplating, it may just be one of the ways a person dealt with a stressful situation. Nodding to herself, Hanabira figured that must be it and that Kazuma really did care. "Oh, Hamma-san gave it to me when I became genin..." Hanabira began, but then softly trailed off as she realized that Kazuma was still not a genin. She smiled softly and curled a bit inwards as Kazuma swung his katana and spoke of strength. Was that what Hanabira was missing in her attack? "Mhm," Hanabira nodded agreeing with Kazuma's statement about strength requirements. "I'm still to weak to properly draw an arrow correctly," Hanabira admitted as she played with the arrow by rolling it between her fingers and the string of the bow. Seeing Kazuma have such a large weapon and be able to swing it so care freely made the girl with thin glasses feel rather weak training in front of him. So, she merely fiddled with the weapon instead of practicing with it like she should be. She tried not to get hung up on her own imperfections and instead looked up at Kazuma. "You must have gotten strong," the girl said, meaning to compliment Kazuma and his own strength to swing such a sword.

" Genin huh? " Kazuma stopped his sentance short not really having anything to add to that, he'd been kicked out of the academy but he had moved past that, though it still didn't mean he agreed with how they did things around here. "Well I'm glad I left. I don't need people telling me what to do, dumping me in a sqaud and judging how strong I am. I'll do it on my own, who needs them?" and just like that he shrugged off the thoughts of genins failed academy students and evil teachers, he was making his own path now. " Well you got yourself one of those headbands right? You must've earned it, come on show us how far you can shoot an arrow!" He could see she still hadn't gotten over her shyness. In his eyes Shimagakure really did do nothing for anyone. Hanabira was still as afraid as ever, weren't they letting her grow? " Come on what happened to the Hanabira that raided Prodo's juice cellar?!"

Hanabira didn't want to correct Kazuma over the fact that she didn't have a headband yet. She had passed the genin exam, but she hadn't been in a full squad until this morning when Shin left and Hanabira became his replacement. The bashful teen merely smile at him as she looked over to the rock she had been aiming at. "Ok," she answered him with a bit of enthusiasm. It was hard to remember so far back what had come over Hanabira when she and Kazuma had raided the liquor cellar at Prodo's shop. Tomoko had been a part of that, but now rumor was that Tomoko was banned from the island. Trying not to think about those things at the moment, Hanabira stood up and strung her bow the best she could with the arrow she had crudely made. Still feeling nervous, Hanabira pulled back the string and released the arrow, hoping it would fly at least the ten feet to the rock. And it did! Of course, the arrow seemed to float rather than zip through the air at the rock, but Hanabira was happy that it made it that far. "I reached the rock," the Yamanaka said softly as a bright smile lit up her face.

Kiba grinned as Tanu proposed a fight right here, right now. But he was too slow in following her up on her offer initially as Kazuma arrived and stole the spotlight. Immediately the large katana that the Kun Kumo had with him seized Kiba's attention. He looked down rather embarrassed at his little wooden sword. He had a dao, but he still did not feel ready to use it now, but then there was this guy who already knew how to weild a katana! Granted, he looked like he was still unused to the weapon's weight, but Kiba still envied him. Indeed, this got the blood of the young Raiken to boiling and he was ready to get stronger! "Alright Tanu! Lets do it!" he cried out suddenly as he pointed at her in a challenging manner. "It has been far too long! I'm ready! He drew his trusty bokken and assumed a defensive stance with the blade held in both hands out in front of him and his feet set wide apart. A battle-ready smirk appeared on the face of the dark eyed Raiken. They might be comrades outside of battle, but now was war! "Come on Tanu! They say 'ladies first', but I guess you're close enough!"

Tanu wanted to push that little green haired b*****d into the sand and make him eat it when he said that she didn't know what it meant to take care of the family. "When was the last time you visited home? I'm going tomorrow, because I actually DO care about our family. I bet you didn't even know that there's samurai muscling in on our village. Family.. HA! Don't make me laugh. You do nothing but disgrace our family," Tanu said, as she was getting royally pissed off by Kazu's attitude and then his good-goody friend facade with Hanabira. As Kiba cried out and pointed at her, the Kun Kumo girl with the blood red hair turned with an angry smile. "FAR TOO LONG!" she shouted her blood boiling thanks to Kazuma. Kiba pulled out his stick and stood ready for battle. "I'll show you lady like!" Tanu roared, not really sure what she meant by her own comment, but just needed to shout out something as she pulled back her first to throw out at Kiba's face. That's right, she was gonna go straight for the face with her fist, followed by her other fist with an uppercut to his chin. She had to maneuver carefully around that wooden sword he held out in front of him.

Adjusting her glasses after shooting the arrow, Hanabira listened as Tanu finally said her rebuttal on Kazuma's accusation of not caring about family matters. Holding her short bow with two hands, Hanabira looked Kazuma in his red-green eyes before breifly explaining. "We just received a mission to investigate the Samurai activity at the Kun Kumo Village. Since your clan are shinobi themselves along with being affiliated with Shimagakure, I think Tenmoki-sama may fear an attack on the village," Hanabira said softly explaining what news they had all gotten earlier today, along with adding on her assumptions and speculations. Fiddling with her bow again, Hanabira knew that she wasn't ready to yet use the item in battle. Only being able to shoot it ten feet wouldn't be enough for a real battle. She could barely see over twenty feet away due to her glasses. Hanabira loved her olive eyes, but she hated the fact that her vision was blurry and she was required to wear the thin glass over the bridge of her nose in order to see correctly.

As Hanabira went to go retrieve her arrow, she thought about all the different types of doujutsus in Shimagakure. The Uchihas, Hyuugas and even the clans that had specific eye traits such as the Kun Kumo's with their hues of red and green. Wasn't there a way for a normal shinobi such as herself to enhance her eyes? As her fingers touched the wooden arrow, Hanabira felt her glasses slide down the bridge of her nose once again. Yuki had transplanted the eyes of a lion into Aunt Shuga many years ago. Would it be possible for Hanabira to get a set of new eyes, so that she may see far into the distance? As she stood up, Hanabira pushed her glasses back into place. If she did ever get into a hand to hand fight with another person and was knocked across the face, Hanabira would lose her glasses and lose her sight. She truly was the weakest out of the group. Just watching Tanu charge at Kiba, Hanabira knew...

As she stood next to Kazuma, Hanabira tried to think of a reason for him and her to leave the shoreline to let Kiba and Tanu train on their own. She was starting to feel uncomfortable training in front of her squad mates. The two had such great physical strength and power, which made Hanabira feel rather inadequate. "Kazu... Would you want to go to the bamboo forest to train? I'm sure cutting down bamboo stalks with the Katana will be good practice," the freckled face girl suggested and then smiled lightly at the thought of cut bamboo stalks. "I could make arrows out of the bamboo too. These ones I made are rather poor..." she admitted, holding up the twigs she had slightly carved out to be her arrows.

" The clan isn't my family. Kana is the only family I have. You and the clan can go burn for all I care. " He shrugged off Tanu's last insult, he no longer cared about them. it was time to walk his own path. Hanabira filled him in on the mission, not that he really cared about what was going on back home and it showed in the attention he payed to what she said. " Yeah I'd leave my cousin behind if I was you otherwise you are gonna fail the mission for sure..." He laughed. Tanu was even more self destructive than he was. The village had changed both of them. The change was starting to be a good thing for Kazuma but for Tanu? He doubted it. " Yeah let's get out of here." He agreed, anything to get away from Tanu right now. " So let's go make some new ones -" He lowered his voice and stepped closer to finish the sentence. "- and use Tanu for target practice. " He grinned and took off for the bamboo forest." Come on!"

"Sensei?" Hanabira asked Kane after suggesting the training to Kazuma. She wouldn't be able to explain to Kane why she wanted to train in the bamboo forest, but she was sure the excuse for new arrows was good enough. With a silent nod from Kane, Hanabira smiled as Kazuma agreed to make some new arrows with her. Her face turned a little pale when Kazuma suggested using Tanu for target practice. "I-I," Hanabira stammered trying to object, but Kazuma was already taking off towards the bamboo forest. With a cheerful 'Come on' from the Kun Kumo, the Yamanaka girl followed suite. Before she left however, she turned and bowed towards Kane, Kiba and Tanu graciously giving her leave of the squad. Struggling to keep up with Kazuma, Hanabira sprinted after the boy, pulling up her knees as she ran after him. Hide disliked Hanabira hanging out with Kazuma... but Hanabira liked spending time with the misfit boy.

Alright! Here she comes! Thought the young Raiken as Tanu came at him. He was fully in the zone now and knew exactly how he wanted to begin the battle. (This was one of those rare occasions in which Kiba actually had a plan.) He really thought he was about to start the fight out with a bang, little did he know it would turn into a sad fizzle... The fresh genin was too eager to show off his new jutsu and hoped to set himself up for a sneak attack with kawarimi no jutsu. As he tried to perform the new technique he barely even noticed the Kun Kumo's fist plowing into his own nose until, well, it happened. The blow was such that he staggered back a couple of paces in senseless daze and could do nothing to dodge the second blow that struck him right on the tip of his chin and sent backwards several yards backwards before he fell down on his rear. The pain was incredible and he tried his best to recover quickly and get back to his feet.

Body Replacement Technique [Kawamiri no Jutsu] This jutsu lets the user quickly switch places with another nearby object, such as a plant (normally a section of a log), an animal, or even another person within reach, leaving the opponent open to a counter-attack. Explosive tags can be attached to the replacement for an added surprise. Fundamentally, all ninja know this technique. If the technique is successful you can use sneak attack to attack your target. CP Cost: 5 Damage: N/A Requirement: Must be taught. Seals: Ram Avoid: Dodge or Ninjutsu roll. Special: + Chakra Mod to Dodge, Sets up for Sneak attack if dodge is successful. Roll: 1d20 + Dodge + Chakra Mod

The dark eyed Raiken sprang back onto his feet. Ok, if that was how Tanu wanted to do it, two could play that game! Kiba would retaliate with a straightforward assault of his own! The young Raiken knew that he was considerably faster than his opponent and planned on using this to his advantage. For his first strike he would try to flash past Tanu so fast that her eyes could hardly follow her and deliver a powerful whack to the back of her head with his trusty bokken. After this he would follow up with a quick stap to her stomach. It was a pretty simple plan of attack, but the Raiken swordsman felt confident that his superior speed would allow him to succeed in both attacks. Then again, perhaps Tanu would surprise him. That was one of the most important lessons of battle: expect the unexpected. Parricularly in this world of ninja and countless jutsus.
