-Dessynea- No, I'm gonna side with Allegro.
I think the independent thinking would fall somewhere between the things Allegro said.
I think that common sense is one of the big components of being "smart" that gets forgotten. You can spout facts all you want, but you can't read about common sense on the internet and then have it. Showing people how smart you are but then doing stupid things is kind of dumb. Ah, but stupid things are only stupid if you don't learn from them. Nobody is born with common sense, you get it by doing stupid things and figuring out what you did wrong.

Lady Psycho Sexy Ah, but stupid things are only stupid if you don't learn from them. Nobody is born with common sense, you get it by doing stupid things and figuring out what you did wrong. Well you can also learn them from other people's mistakes. That is what I like to do. XD

Lady Psycho Sexy You can, but when it's your mistake you don't readily forget the lesson. Indeed. I got shocked putting an old hair dryer in a plug when I was 5. I still remember that. Don't ******** with electricity. XD I just hate when people make mistakes that don't have consequences for them, so it is not their learning experience. Like when some a*****e jock threw diluted acid in my eye while ******** with his friends in class. I learned not to ******** around in a lab, but I already knew that in the first place.

Owwin Don't roll your eyes. I thought what I said was really clever. cry Not you Owwin. Though I am rather unimaginative...
I have learned a lot from other people's mistakes, watching every one around me ******** up and negatively effect my life has certainly ingrained the lessons for me. I don't need to try the drugs my mom did to realize they will ******** me up too. But many people do the same stupid things and don't learn from them.

Learning from your mistakes is common sense, and that one is really lacking in our species. Oh well we compensate with the other ones. XD

Of course you don't have to do every single thing to know it's bad. But I do believe some people need their self-destructive behaviors to hit them in the face before they'll stop denying them and learn to overcome them. And even then, some never do.
On another note, I'm getting a very strong feeling of aggression from you right now and it's making me a little uncomfortable. Is something wrong?
