Gambler looked at him and nodded. "Could you teach me yours first?" She asked, playing with the strap on her heels. "I don't want you to get all over load on a language."

Monty looked at the menu and shrugged. "If there is something specific that you like they can make it for you." He said and looked at the muffins. "Though, the blueberry muffin is good." He said, trying to be civilized in front of Kalore.

For some reason, the image of Monty eating a blueberry muffin while burning something went into Kalore head, and he had to cover his mouth to make his laughter softer. Eyes closed, the grin was huge on his lip. "I'll take that..." Another laugh and he leaned back, comfortable, but the image kept making Kalore chuckle.

Rave sighed, "I could... But if you don't get the true form of the language, it'll be much harder if you ever wanted to work on Kalore's or Eldin's or Kit's or the dark elves' version. But, we can start with mine... if that's what you want..." Rave didn't approve of that, but he had a point in his method. In his mind, he believed that Gambler could get the hang of elvish in about two weeks. If he and Kalore just spoke it constantly, even Eldin, then she would be able to understand it more. He would just have to make sure that they all did the same version of it...

Monty nodded and ordered for them, getting a blueberry muffin for himself and a large black coffee. The demon remembered the kind of coffee the elf ordered from last time and ordered that one for him. When the order was placed Monty looked at him with puzzlement. "What's so funny?" He asked. If there was a joke made, he didn't hear it.

"Oh." Gambler looked up at him with the tilt of her head. "It's the complicated? I thought that if I learn my base of it and just from one region I could learn the rest easily since they might be similiar. It's like spanish. You have proper and slang. I know the slang and proper and they are similiar and you can still understand each other." She said but what did she know about languages?
PostPosted: Mon Mar 22, 2010 2:17 pm

"Some words are similar, but for the most part the difference between the languages are like the differences between Italian and English. Some words you can get, but others are just way out there." Rave shrugged, "We can try to get you to learn the Northern language first, but getting to the others will be harder. It's up to you."

Kalore grinned, "I'm thinking of you munching on a blueberry muffin, all calm, while burning something... It's an entertaining image." Yeah, Kalore was back, seeing as he wasn't hiding his thoughts. At least this time it didn't involve the two kissing...That was good, right?

Gambler shrugged. "Your the teacher. I'll listen to whatever it is that you teach me." She said, holding up her hands in surrender to what he was saying. It was his language so he knew it best.

Monty blinked at Kalore. Perhaps to him it was hilarious but to the demon it was absurd. Very much absurd. He wouldn't burn things while eating a blueberry muffin. It would be while sipping tea and eating crumpets.

Rave chuckled, "I'll teach you the central language. That way with the others you'll get an idea with the words, but they're quite different. When would you like for me to start teaching you, Gambler?"

Grinning again, Kalore was given his food and he munched on the muffin, "Don't look at me like that... It was a funny thought." He shrugged and took a sip, smiling and happy. It seemed like Kalore really was back, but he wasn't like he was with Monty before; All calm and collected. No, this was the Kalore that was from a while ago, the one that Rave called 'happy Kalore'. The facade.

Monty nodded and just looked at his muffin, picking at it slightly with no real appetite. Though he did have a thirst for the strong black coffee, which he welcomed with gratefulness. The demon stared at the muffin and just stared at it, sensing the difference in Kalore. Knowing full well that he was part of a long list of people who only saw this Kalore and not the real him. It sort of made him angry but he put himself there but....

Gambler looked at him with a smile. "Tomorrow?" She offered, thinking that the sooner she learned the better.

Nodding, Rave agreed. "Okay. When you want to start, just come find me. Sometime around noon?" He knew that teaching her in the morning wouldn't work, so maybe teach her some a little at a time, during lunch of a bit after it.

Kalore blinked, "Are you going to just stare at it or are you going to eat it? I promise you it isn't going to run away..." He grinned, but the smile faltered as he thought about how he was acting. Looking down, Kalore just took another bite. So what? he was acting like he did a couple weeks ago, but what was he supposed to do? Monty wanted to start over, and Kalore was still hiding things. Added to that, he needed to fake the happy... The magic was almost gone from him, so he should be able to start using his 'meds' again, and that would help. At least, it would help something.

Monty clenched his jaw and nodded slightly. Then he looked up at Kalore with the same unemotional mask he gave everyone. He did say that he wanted to start over so perhaps he should start over with his usual barbs at the elf and act like a demon. "Perhaps I'll leave it for later." He said and pushed it aside to sip his coffee and looked to the side where people were walking and looked over a pretty young woman from across the street with a heated gaze.

Gambler nodded and stayed quiet. She didn't know what to say or do. It's not that she didn't have an idea it's just that since she was acting slightly to brash and asking question about things that should be left alone, it made her feel slightly arkward. She felt like a idiot too.

Looking a bit shocked, Kalore's lips were slightly parted as he tried to figure out why it was so odd to be getting this from him. "Um..." But there wasn't anything Kalore could do. Looking back down, his eyes were searching the table quickly, trying to find something interesting, but he couldn't keep his mind off of what he was thinking.

Maybe... Maybe this shouldn't have... No! I mean... I know I can never have him like that... It's not like he's gonna just get sick of being here and go to his place where both of us would probably be more comfortable... Now, if that happened I could probably drop the facade....but.... Kalore sighed and sipped his drink, wondering why it mattered so much to him now. Monty had been nothing but problems. Well, almost nothing but problems. So, why did it matter? He knew, but it wouldn't be said.

Rave glanced at Gambler with a small smile on his lips, "Her name was Celina." He figured that she was wondering about what was said before. "We weren't married, but engaged. She stayed here for about twelve years while I did countless things out of the haven." It had to be said sooner or later, so why not start now? Gambler had heard part of his sob story and had asked him about this part... But still, the wound was still raw.

Monty looked at him from the corner of his eye. "Was there something you wanted to say?" He asked, his voice still deep and giving nothing away. He didn't want to shut Kalore out. It pained him somehow for doing so but that was his defense. The demon didn't have anything against the elf, hell he wondered why they ended up acting normal after that fight. He had hoped that Kalore would kick him out of the room or when he took out the gun, shot him in the chest or something.

Not that he could die from a mere small wound as that. Just that....Yeah he could deal with getting shot than with this emotional thing that was going on. He would rather be shot....Isn't that something crazy?

Gambler blinked up at him and nodded slowly. "Celina? Hmmm. That's a pretty name. Is that with a S or a C? I hear different forms of the name." She rambled and bit her tongue. The man was trying to open up to her and all she could do was talk about the name of his fiance. Well, she did feel this warm fuzzy feeling at being trusted enough to listen to him about this. That made her smile slightly. "Where you engaged for that long too?"
PostPosted: Tue Mar 23, 2010 5:22 pm

"With a 'c'." A small smile was on his lips as he spelled out her name. "And...we were engaged for a while, only about a year, because so many people were bothering her about being with someone, in the same house, that she wasn't married to or engaged to. Neither of us wanted marriage." Rave shrugged, not upset yet, and willing to answer questions as long as Gambler asked them.

Kalore didn't know why he didn't just reply with the normal Kalore-like answer of, "Eh, nothing." No... This time he went to his true self, reprimanding himself after it was said, "You're shutting me out..." He also yelled at himself for letting the hurt come out of his heart and into his voice. Quickly, Kalore bounced back, "Um... never mind." He took a sip of his drink to block his thoughts out.

Giving the 'oh' face, the boss considered that for a moment. "So you just got engaged so that she was left alone about living with someone in the same house? Why didn't you want to be married?" She asked curious about that. She figured that since some people just stayed together for a long time without marriage that it was fine and well, she just wanted to know his reasons.

Monty stared at him. "So are you." He said bluntly, not at all ashamed for pointing things out. Yeah he was shutting Kalore out but so did he and well, he understood that.
PostPosted: Tue Mar 23, 2010 5:38 pm

"I am not!" Kalore looked at him with wide eyes as he continued, "I'm just treating you like I did before when I...was on...my pills..." He blinked and looked down, sighing. "It's... Okay... You're right. I apologize." Another sigh and Kalore ran a hand through his hair, speaking very softly, but he knew that Monty would be able to hear. "I don't know what to do... I want to be like we were before, but... That was when we... well...." he sighed, not knowing if bringing up them kissing was going to make Monty up and leave.

Rave shrugged, "Marriage... It seems like such a hassle... I mean." he sighed, "I don't know. Neither of us wanted it, mainly because we didn't want to get to bound together that if something were to happen, we wouldn't be able to move on. I was always at risk of death because of my job and status, and she was always at risk of getting hurt because of where she worked." It was something that made sense to both of the elves.

Monty flicked Kalore's nose. He growled softly and ordered another strong black coffee. He didn't like that the elf had to apologize for things that he didn't do and for things that weren't really his fault. Just, he wished he wasn't so damn hard to deal with. Sometimes he wished he could be like the others in the group who just let things roll off their shoulders and moved on. But he wasn't and well, that was just a wish nothing that he wanted permenantly.

"That makes sense. Though, you should just let what others think shove it up where the sun doesn't shine because if that's what you both agreed to, then getting engage because people talk is like a hassle itself." She shrugged and zipped her lips again at being blunt as hell. "So...Something bad happened to her right?"
