ColonelMcMonocle Isn't that baking soda and vinegar? The baking soda (sodium bicarbonate) and vinegar (acetic acid) react to form carbonic acid, carbon dioxide, water, and sodium ions. The reaction is quick, but not too explosion-ish. It just makes a whole mess of the aforementioned products.
I've never heard of baking powder reacting with water.
I have heard of pure sodium reacting with water. THAT is a huge explosion, and the result is sodium hydroxide, a nasty, painful base. xD We did that one in chemistry and there was fire and noise and smoke. It was TEH COOL.
And thanks, Sing. I likeys my outfit too. =D This reminds me of the time a bunch of guys from my school stole some sodium from the chemistry labs, and dumped it in a toilet. From then on, they were referred to as "the Chemical Brothers". xd

I am not exactly sure what caused it, but things are going APESHIT on my laptop right now. gonk I...I think a virus was let in without my knowledge... I'm experiencing great slowdown... Nothing seems to want to run right now, except for IE and Windows Explorer. Everything acts like it's been uninstalled, and I can't get System Restore to work! gonk
I think it must have been something in the school's wireless network...viruses are able to travel through that, right? gonk
Now I'm burning things to CD like crazy, and I think I'll have my uncle go get this checked... crying
EDIT: OK, I suppose I was a little apeshit myself. lol sweatdrop
After a call to my uncle, he told me how to get through to System Restore.
Thank GOODNESS everything's all right again. crying *cradles laptop like a baby* I am never connecting to the school's wireless network again OR letting anyone's thumb drives on it.
