Nihilistic_Impact Was it ever stated the person was flying? Perhaps they only see someone runing around like a little kid pretending to be superman? Then they are suffering from mental problems if they see that when the "truth" is right in front of their eyes. If Jesus desceneded down from the heavens right in front of you in a showy way in all his glory. Your denial of his existance and other supernatural acts performed by him are a result of you, mentally, not being able to accept the truth. But it wont change the fact that, that is what happened. The atheist will lose because he will in his mental state... be beat up for an inexplicable reason to himself. Unless he mentally sees himself getting beat up in a practical way. The point is he would lose.

Kuro_Tsuwamono Of course, but I think what really lead to the person I'm talking about's "defeat" in the argument was the bias system of RP ref's in the forum it took place in. However, this is the lowdown of what happned. RPer 1: *Shoots ki at a person*

Crawleymang~ Okay. Way to be a genius and play into the tier system. What you are doing is giving the mouse more powers and therefore increasing his tier. So you're actually proving my point even moreso. Because by adding powers to the mouse.. you admit that he has to be built better in order to stand a chance. I don't. With an Angsty Mouse that was average size [Approx. 5" x 2" x 1"] I could get at LEAST a draw out of the battle.

Binatica The thing about tiers is that you're rating CHARACTERS not RPers because you can just rate RPers by intelligence. There's no need to call me a "high-tier RPer" when "a ******** genius" will do. And, no, every character CANNOT beat every other character. There ARE unwinnable fights no matter how smart one side is. For example, I've had a pyromancer fight completely fire-resistant characters who also had control over fire. Could she have won? Yeah, she did - through technicalities of the tournament she was in, ring-outs and scoring higher and the like. If they were fights to the death, they would have been unwinnable. I'm an awesomesauce RPer and haven't lost a character yet, but I tend to have a lot of trouble with a character's first fight because it's always ALWAYS a ******** character optimized to give my new character problems. And there's a lot of these ******** pseudopsionicists around lately doing things that can only be countered by their own brand of "psionics". I'm watching one guy who has total control of everything within a certain distance, absorbing every attack sent his way, and the barrier costs zero effort on his part and is always on, and the only way to stop it that I can see is to use the same brand of "psionics" to negate the field. No. Sorry, but you're just wrong. It is always possible to win a fight. Doesn't matter how small your chance is, you can ALWAYS win. I don't care whether it be a one in a million shot, pyromancer throws a rock and hits her opponent in the temple. Thats why life is interesting. In any competition you can never truly predict the outcome. Putting it out of the context of a tournament bout only increases ones chance of winning. They could always run away, wait until the other person is asleep, and make sure they never wake up.

XShilonX Yes, in Roleplays, it is. The Angsty Mouse should have just as much power as the Super Psychic Megawizard, because otherwise is cheating. How is it cheating? some fights just aren't fair, this is realitySometimes.. there is a guy who is stronger than you.. and the odds of you beating him are next to none. If I put you and champion heavyweight fighter in the same room with eachother and made you fight. You would lose. Not all fights are fair.

Mice don't have angst. There is no such thing as a Super Mega Psychic Wizard. You can't just throw Reality in and out of the mix at will, y'know. And, Nay. With the angsty mouse I could make a series of things happen using only speed and size to where the Psychic wouldn't possibly be able to focus on them all, and even if so, they'd keep arising until a draw was called.

You assume that raw power, be it physical or magical, makes the mold of the match. That is not the case. Let's say, we just had the angsty mouse and the wizard fight. And the mouse managed to bite said wizard before the GRAND WIZARD cooked him into non-existance.
The mouse may spread a disease onto said wizard, and despite how grand said magic user is, he is still of flesh and blood - and dies in the long run because of an illness, a mere mouse gave him.
Any battle is winnable by any side, power is only one factor of many.
