"Well this is her culture and tradition, even if it does come from a society that doesn't really want her," Lore pointed out, "And for all the diffrent developments in fighting that Gaia does have, they probably don't have the same style as what your people have."

"I understand that," Ulrich nodded, still looking a bit confused, "I just wonder that she's willing to leave him with the people who treat her the way they do ... who view her the way they do ... if I were her, I would fear for one of two things: they way they would treat Celebor because he is her son, or the way they would try to change his thinking, to make him think like them."
Harsh thoughts, but he couldn't help but think them. With the Southlanders ... he wouldn't be surprised, no matter what they did. The only thing that would surprise him would be if they would treat him with respect and say nothing amiss of Elnara.

"Well..." Lore looked thoughtful, "I don't know myself how they would think or anything like that, I think there are some good people that have to be there otherwise she wouldn't have thought of it. I know the latter would be hard for them to do, he's been raised as a Winters... the species diversity in that family is incredible even without Elnara emulating it. The first though.... she's probably has considered it, but on the other hand she doens't want.. I think for him to miss out."

Ulrich nodded thoughtfully, his mind busy as he weighed the possibilities.
"I only hope for her sake that you're right," he murmured softly. "Perhaps it's better that she's still hesitant to go back there. Her brother, Gion, would be happy to see her I know ... but to be honest I don't know about any of the others."

Lore smiled, "His favourite aunt and uncle are fish from the waist down, it can't get any stranger than that," he mused on this, "I think.. I might have heard of Gion... but well, will see what happens. Time changes people, so who knows."
It was being a bit optimistic even for him, but he had to think something good would happen, otherwise this was going to be very difficult.

Ulrich chuckled. "Yes ... Kara told us about them. I imagine it would be quite the sight to see. It sounds like Elnara's new family is quite fascinating, actually."
He brushed his hair back behind his shoulders. "And if Elnara has mentioned any of her brothers, Gion is the one she's most likely to. He's the only one who takes her side in all of this - though it's sad that a family should be so divided."

Lore nodded, though he didn't know what to think of that, to him divided over something like that was normal, unfortunately.
"Ideally it should never happen, but relaity is far from ideal."

"That depends on where you are," Ulrich replied quickly, without thinking. Immediately he apologized. "Sorry ... tender spot."
He sighed. "Believe it or not, there are places that are perfect ... truly. No discord, no prejudice, no fear, no hate ... but it's a place one must strive to reach, it's not in the Four Lands."
Far from it.

"It's alright," Lore replied, he had heard of places like that, but... well... those were places he didn't think of, "You miss it."
It was an observaton, there was a place he missed, wherever he had come from he had missed it.

Ulrich nodded wordlessly. There was nothing to add.
"Anyways," he murmured quietly, his tone hushed now, "the pheasants have been nesting just ahead - we should try to get at least two of them."

Lore nodded as he looked up ahead for any movement, pheasants were a small target, hopefully they would get close enough. He took a deep breath in, it was like ghost hunting... only without the added danger.

Ulrich kept his ears alert - knowing the pheasants, they would give themselves away long before the elves came within hunting range.
Sure enough, only a few minutes later, he could hear the gentle cooing of the pheasants, as well as feathers brushing against the tall grasses. He held one hand out to Lore and put one finger to his lips, then motioned for Lore to circle around in one direction, while he would go in the other.
While he waited for Lore to show that he understood, he unslung his bow and took an arrow from the quiver on his back, keeping his movements slow and natural.

Lore nodded slowly taking is bow and slowly moving in the other direction. His body was tense and he could nearly hear his heart beat wildly, for the rush of the task, and it had been a while since he felt like that. Yes, he could hear them now....

Ulrich knew the area so well after so many years that he didn't even think about where he was going - he simply moved through the trees as though it were only natural for him (which it nearly was) until he had the pheasants in sight.
There were six of them that he could see, and he had a feeling there were more of them in the long grass, sitting on nests. Well, he would leave those ones alone - after all, there was no point in killing off their food source.
We need to shoot at the same time, he told Lore, using his magic to send his thoughts to the other man's mind. That way we don't have to worry about them spooking and flying away on us.
He knew Lore wouldn't be able to reply (at least, he assumed) and so he gave the elf several moments to get into place.

Lore nodded, though it was more of his own benifit than for Ulrich's since he wasn't sure if the other elf could see that. As he moved into place, seeing the birds now, he took out an arrow and notched, it but only let it rest where it was. He did nothing else as he got into place and waited on his haunches for Ulrich to say something next.
