Of course Far didn't know how to get out of this place...it was unfamiliar and he didn't know east from west...hell...he hardly knew up from down at the moment.
And now he was tired, and cranky. It had been all night indeed, but how could one tell? The forest obscured almost all light the majority of the time, and so day and night were no longer absolutes, blurred...and he only knew that it was probably morning by the faint light that filtered down in one place where there was a rare patch of sky visible past the branches above.
To make matters worse there was that damned glowing temple.
If nothing else, Farlest was quite sure that he could find that if ever a need arose, or rather it would find them...as they had managed to find it three times in the last nine or so hours. No matter which direction they started out in...there it would be, happily glowing within a matter of minutes or hours, Farlest hardly knew which...and it was starting to make his skin crawl.
Flopping down for a moment, he sighed, "Dammit...there it is again." The boy lamented, looking ruefully up at Ka.

Ka sat down as well, just a little more slowly - though it was obvious he was also stiff and tired. He turned so they could lean back on each other - back to back, and eyed that temple. "I'm starting to think it's following us somehow," he muttered darkly.
Tilting his head back then, he looked up at the sky ... blinking. "Far..." he said slowly. "I think it's morning now." Which meant they'd been wandering around in here all night long. With no sign of anyone else.
Which meant ... no one was looking for them. A bit of a shiver ran through him at that, and he shut his eyes, trying not to think about it. Maybe everyone else thought they were dead ...

Lina was the first one up that morning.
Dammit.
Making sure she woke no one else, she darted off the path a little, then curled up behind a bush and proceeded to dry heave, occasionally bringing up something bitter and acidic, the taste of partially digested Pocky.
I need to find something else...and I need some green tea to calm down my stomach. Guess the disgusting stuff'll have to do....

Far nodded slowly, a movement that Ka would be able to feel if not see. "Yeah...I kind of figured that one out..." Sighing heavily, he closed his eyes and yawned. Mmmhmm...tired. Not that this was any place to take a nap. In fact this whole forest was so dangerous that by no means would he be remotely interested in actually sleeping out here...at least not by himself, he would make a concession if Ka was right there, as he was starting to become weary enough to just...doze off on the spot.
"Hope everyone else made it to the meeting place safely..." He murmured, having come to the same conclusion that Ka had.
They'd have to start moving again soon...or at least trying to find a way out of here, even if they did seem to be playing a macabre game of ring around the temple...which the temple was most assuredly winning.
"...and I swear if we run into this temple one more time I'm going to scream...there's not a lot that gives me shivers but that does."

“Want this?” Irame held out some bread and sorely whished that she had pickled frog feet. Then. And only then would she be the sort of fill in for Pumpkin for right then.
Irame had been almost awake when Lina had left before. She had been semi awakenly wondering if she could get away with writing an encyclopedia of the undead, and if it would sell. Well if more than just her family would buy it anyway. Strange thought but one that had been pushed to the back of her mind when she realized that Lina was getting sick.
“Once your feeling a little better of course.” She added on, realizing that she probably should have clarified that. “Not right now, of course, but I mean since you don’t seem to have anything left and…” she waved a hand vaguely and trailed off. “I always felt better after eating something that absorbed stuff.” She smiled and shrugged. “I thought that it might help you.”

Greg had been up for a little bit by the time that he finally got himself out and about. Most of the time that he spent before he got up had been pressing the heels of his palms into his eyes and trying to either A) calm down with Dante or B) ignore the memories that had gotten dredged up again. It was silly anyway, he shouldn’t be thinking about something that happened 11 years ago now anyway. That was what had gotten him up and about.
He was still a bit upset with Dante though.
He just tried to ignore it, like he would with anything upsetting, put on his happy smile, and went outside. Outside was always nice and calming. So Greg just sat down for a minute and waited to A) make sure that he was calm and B) see who else was awake and up.
Did he hear someone in the bushes? Hmm… No that had to be his imagination.

Alex had no concept of time, running through the forest. It was all dark; there was no light to speak of. No sunlight filtered through the heavy boughs, there were no animals to distinguish nocturnal from daytime, so when the morning did come, Alex found herself still chasing the elusive shadow. She hadn't slept, but even if she'd been able to sit down and try, her body was so wound up and high keyed that it really wasn't an option. Her legs simply followed the shadow. Sometimes she'd lose sight of it, swallowed by the dark of the surroundings, but it would almost shimmer and she'd see it again. As if, perhaps, it didn't want to lose her.
Likely around the time everyone else was awake, Alex finally stopped running. Her lungs burned from the stagnant air and God knows what else in the atmosphere. Her eyes were bloodshot from pushing herself, although it was more due to fear than anything. Leg muscles sang with tension, threatening to cramp and knock her to her butt, although she wasn't very good at heeding the warnings her body threw at her. Her right leg was completely numb, her foot touching the floor just a vague impression. It was that feeling that finally did make her lean against a tree to think.
She'd been running too long to not be out of this place. Their small party had bisected the thing neatly in less than a day's time. Was this shadow just leading her in circles, wearing her down? Her mind was foggy from ignoring the rest of her body, so it was completely acceptable to think that she was chasing phantoms the whole time. A small flare of anger sparked in her chest, anger at leaving the party to begin with, thinking she could do something at all when the situation was so hopeless--
It was with that thought that she realized she must be near the temple. Those thoughts weren't hers. She was too ornery to give up on her friends and loved ones, to give up on herself. Had she been running circles around that blasted piece of--
CALM DOWN, Alex yelled inwardly, biting the inside of her cheek to regain some of her composure. She dragged her rucksack around her shoulder, digging through it until she produced what she was looking for; a canteen and some dried strips of jerky. Breakfast of champions.
Weary eyes shifted back to her insane host through this dark home. The shadow was waiting...and that was the problem. It was waiting. It was sentient, could think, and could act; her eyes flickered to the soft ground, noting her foot falls, and that of what she chased. She blinked in surprise, kneeling momentarily to observe the tracks closely. They were humanoid, but so very much smaller than her own, even more so than the boys from the school. It was unnatural.
Alex looked back up, watching the dark silhouette flicker. "No," she rasped, unable to recognize her own voice from all her harsh breathing. She took a swig from her canteen, wiping her mouth before leveling her gaze on the thing. "I'm not following you on your one ring circus, buddy. Speak your peace or get the--"
She saw something. As if the shadow may have revealed itself, but it was so quick that her mind couldn't put the pieces together to sort out what she saw. And with that, the shadow left her in the dark awning of a deadly forest, to find her own way out or die trying.

"Oh God, please, put it away," Lina said, then heaved again. "L-look, I---ghhakkk--a-a-app-preciate that. But--no, not right--blllllargh."
The last thing she needed was food. She hoped Irame understood.
"M-Maybe--hurrrrp--maybe later...."
Dante's eyes slid open easily, no sign of restless sleeping within them. He enjoyed his deep, meditative states. This was no exception.
Even if it was in the middle of a forest.
He stretched a bit, then stood, not even looking at Greg. Not being sheepish about it, either. In the sort of arrogant way Dante had he knew he was at least partially right--and when this was over he'd probably apologize. But not now. Not when they needed Kenth's self-esteem at his highest.
He took the canteen of tea and held it out to Greg.

Sable woke up slowly, making soft, annoyed noises as he wriggled and stretched. He missed his appartment. A lot, really. The sound of the forest and the possibility of creatures and...well, some very unhappy and or crazed locals was enough to make him anxious. There wasn't anything to calm his nerves, either, just think about boring things until he fell asleep.
He rolled over slowly, rubbing his eyes and feeling around for his glasses. He needed those glasses if he wanted to see more than a foot in front of him. He finally found them and set them on his face, yawning as he pushed them up the bridge of his nose. Damn. He really needed to get more sleep. He wasn't a morning person, and this wasn't helping.
...but the creepy crawling down his shirt most certainly was. Sable shot to his feet, doing all he could to keep from yowling as he shook and attempted to brush the creature off his back. All he was really doing was putting it into a frenzy. Before he thought better of it, the young man whipped off his shirt and began shaking it until a large, fuzzy spider fell out and skittered away as fast as its little legs would take it. Sable cringed, warily pulling the white shirt back on.
...ew.

There was a soft chuckling noise coming from behind him. "Find a nightly visitor?" Rylenn offered him some coffee. "You should take your shirt off more often. " He smiled. "So.. did you rest well..?"

"That was gross," Sable hissed, skin still crawling. Everytime his shirt brushed his skin, he felt like there was another insect creeping where it should be. Uggg. He had no idea how he was going to be able to sleep on the ground again after this. There were probably worse things lurking the forest floor, now that he thought about it. Poisonious bugs. Snakes. Big snakes. Deadly snakes. Big animals. People that knew these woods far better then him.
He shook his head at the offer of coffee, blushing before he could muster up a rebuttal. "...no," he mumbled, moving his glasses up so he could properly rub his eyes. "Bugs."

He smiled and put the coffee aside. "It's all right.. I promise." He motioned Sable to follow him. He sat down on a log and drank the coffee. He sighed and rubbed his arms. "It's cold here.. or is it just me?" He smiled gently. "Maybe I just haven't slept well..."

Sable didn't drink coffee in the morning; he rarely ate in the mornings. He usually forgot or ran out of time and occasionally, he just didn't even have the proper fixings for cereal. Namely, milk. He did not eat dry cereal. He followed Rylenn, however, and joined him on the log.
He shrugged. "I hadn't noticed. There was an unwelcome visitor roaming around my back," he replied, shivering at the very thought. Or was it from the cold? No, that couldn't be it. Was it that cold? Sable blinked and frowned, glancing around the campsite, if you could call it that. "...it's probably just a chill from the night. The sun will probably warm everything up." Or were they too deep in woods for that theory to apply?

"I hope I'm not getting sick. I get sick at the worst possible times.... I really do.." He sighed and rubbed his temples. He looked at Sable and smiled. "Do you miss them? Your family that is?" He looked down. "This.. place makes me even miss my dad..."

"I'm sure you're not sick. You're probably not used to the climate, or something like that." It made sense. That sort of thing was his speciality, but it sounded pretty logical. Though, that could be because it was early and he was still really quite foggy.
He blinked. "...my family?" He shook his head. "Not really. I haven't lived with my parents since I was ten, and I haven't seen Jenos or Valen in the past two years." He hadn't enough money to travel across seas for the holidays. "I guess Saint and Rook could be called my family...and it's sorta nice to have a break from babysitting them...especially Rook." He glanced over. Was Rylenn really that lonely, even with Wei here?

Irame immediately put the food away. So Lina wasn’t done getting sick. Her mistake.
“I’m sorry Lina.” She said certainly sounding so. “I thought that you were done… well…” She sighed, shook her head, and then went over to Lina. She brushed what hair she could out of the woman’s face, something that she knew calmed her sons down when ever they were sick, and she simply waited for her to be done.
“It’s okay Lina. You’ll feel better soon.” She cooed as soothingly as she could.

Greg looked over at Dante and wanted to childishly turn away and simply ignore him. He knew he couldn’t though. ‘Just do what your parents taught you,’ he thought, ‘be polite and civil even if you’re mad.’ He sighed and shook his head.
“No thanks Dante. I have some of my own, thank you though.” A little short for him, but alright he supposed. At the very least it was polite and civil.
