I gather this is his first trip? Serenity asked Daemon, feeling the sword's cold steel against her leg. Either that or it's been particularly difficult for him ... he seems to be exhausted. Though the weather doesn't help, I know ...

Well techically his second, but I suppose going to the planation doesn't count, it isn't as far.
Daemon replied making sure to try and block his thoughts out from Gion so he could rest.
But this far on his own yes, it is a first.

No wonder he was unprepared, Serenity sighed inwardly. Did he have a clear destination when he left? It seems to me as if he just wanted to get away from the others, if he was that angry with him ... and how much food did he bring, do you know?
She tried not to ask too many questions, but she was worried for her son.

It was decided to head to the Borderlands to this... Ulani and Urich's home?
Daemon wondered if he got the names right.
Since it was suggested to visit other relatives first... to lack a better destination. Once we arrive at the city in the North I don't think we'll have a clue where we're headed next. He has enough food to feed an army and I might not be just simply saying that. He had his bag spelled... apperately one of those visitors is a runeologist.

Ah! Then he met Kara! Serenity was delighted, and then she laughed inwardly. Of course he did, she was with Elnara after all ... but which northern city are you referring to? Ulani and Ulrich live in the Borderlands, it's true, but it's far from a city ... four houses, only three occupied ... nothing more.

Well the idea was first to go to the Borderlands.... and then after staying there a bit go to... well I don't know the city's name only that he has.. an aunt there I think?
Daemon wasn't so sure, though he wistfully did think to himself how this person she was delighted that her son met had the same name as his daughter.

Serenity was delighted once more, and the tip of her tail flicked contentedly. So he's off to visit Amalthea? she guessed. My sister-in-law ... she and her husband live in Chansond'eau - is that the city you mean?
Well it would pretty much have to be, since Amalthea was the only aunt Gion had ... unless something strange had happened in the past little while.

It would be the best places for him to go to since this is his first time travelling out this far.

I suppose so, Serenity agreed. Perhaps I should accompany him ... no, I can't put him in that sort of danger. But ... perhaps he would enjoy traveling in the north ... not during winter, though, be sure that he stays with Ulani and Ulrich for the winter. He'll just freeze, he's not used to winter at all, and he's especially not prepared for this kind of weather.

Living in the desert all his life where he's never seen snow I would agree. He was planning to anyhow.

Serenity was silent a moment as she debated the question. To tell the truth she would love to ... but there were complications, always complications, that made it more dangerous ...
I don't know if it would be a wise idea, she replied finally. Has Gion told you about why I cannot live with my family?

Well the problem is, I don't know who's doing this to us, Serenity went on. And of course if it was discovered that I was traveling with him, he would be in great danger ... and no matter how much I would love to be with him, I can't justify putting him in danger like that just for my sake.
She sighed inwardly. And to be honest I spent so much of my life lying to Amalthea about myself that I don't know whether or not she trusts me any more, she went on sadly. I swore to her that I was nothing more than I seemed ... and I haven't seen her since everyone found out, so I don't know how she reacted or anything ...

I'm sure seeing how people treated you she would understand.
Daemon replied back.
Under the circumstances the fear of being prosecuted like that would make anyone not tell the full truth. As for the ambushes I'm sure he and I can take care of that.
