Looking at Zendia, art spoke, "Am I the only one who didn't drink at all? Looks like your with the new guy."

Gendis nodded. "I'm notably older than all of you, 'cept Orrin, and I can hold liquor pretty well. I've gotten to the point where it doesn't affect my flying in the morning. I've gotten my liver replaced a couple times, though..." He coughed. "Alright, I guess I'll be 'bringing up the rear' then. Heh. Hope those freighters like it in the back-" He cracked up. "Sorry. Your poor virgin ears."

Zendia shrugged to Art. "Smart man. Between myself, you, Kefka and Orrin, we're probably the most sober on the squad," She then turned to the new kid. "You're with me. Let's get to our birds." Looking to Rusty, he bleeped in response. "Ready for more adventure, dearie?" If astromechs could smile, then, Rusty probably would have beamed from ear-to-ear. "He's like a mechanical puppy," she chirped to her new wingman. "Well, at least to me."

Veran just shrugs. " i was to busy beratting myself to go drink last night " Veran shrugs as art assigned his wing. "That works for me." he stands up stretching his black flight suit glimmer's in the light. "never had my own astromech so i wouldn't know" walks over to his wingmate "names veran nerash." Veran extends his hand in greeting.

Orrin shrugged off the old comment, since he would be considered old in this profession.
"Nothing much squirt. Listen, get into your ship, follow me. Well, on second thought, I better give you back yours. No matter, I'll wait for your droid to get into lead's."
Orrin shook off a thought, before continuing. "Once you're ready, com me. Then follow me."
But the thought returned. "What is your problem? I'm the a*****e, and you're making me look good! What's with you?"

"No, you know what? I'm sick of it, I'm sick of the war. My girlfriend's at home, I haven't seen her in almost two years because I care for her, and the Empire doesn't. And you know what? Eveyone in this squadron, even Newb, can outfly everyone of those stupid Ruby asses, we just proved it last night. But for some reason, we keep getting the blunt edd of the stick. It blows man, it blows."

"One day I'll tell you why I joined the Rebellion. It wasn't because of my convict status either. While the young are impetous, they can woo fortune from anything. Old guys like me get stuck with the s**t end of everything. But you should know that being leader means you take the brunt of this hellhole. You take the kicks in the groin and the cuts on the chin with equal nobility. But if you're going to sob about, whining and thinking about yourself, then... Nevermind. You're not in a condition to fly with what I'll tell you. Report to these coordinates in 15. You're on rim patrol with me."
With that, Orrin jumped into Emerald Twelve, leaving Emerald one behind, and took off, alone as always, just before every other pilot bustled in.

'Bustle in' could hardly describe, exactly, Gendis' method of entry. He staggered with long strides, barely keeping himself from keeling over as he barely managed to approach and ascend the ladder into his fighter. "Ugh. I hate these things." He started his ship up anyhow, and somehow, all of the physical uncertainty his body seemed to posses apparently disappeared, making way for his expert handling of the Y-Wing.
The R5 behind him beeped abrasively, drawing a cringe from the pilot. He turned. "You shut up back there. I'm putting everything on manual, you little twerp, so you can't mess anything up!"
He called to Kefka, "Hey! Wasn't this trashcan supposed to get wiped?!"

Zendia smiled warmly and held out her hand to Veran. "Veran it is. Nice to meet you." she chirped, before hopping into her bird, with Rusty trailing behind her. A tech hastily plugged Rusty into his socket on the ship. In the space of a moment, the twin engines of her Y-wing fired up, and she rocketed into Dantooine's atmosphere, following closely behind the transport she was escorting.

veran enters his own y-wing after having the techs plug in his own r2 unit "man i can't believe i have to fly this bucket ohh well." flips seveal switches doing his usual flight check he then ignites his engine s and grips the controls the only good thing about these things is they can take a beating. he thinks to himself. he then rockets out of dantooine's atmosphere fallowing his wing man.

Kefka saw that the new fighter, Em.1 was left behind by Orrin. He started toward it, but then stopped.
Why do I get a new ship when the rest of my squad is flying buckets? I mean, Em.2 allready is equipped with Lead stuff so...
Giving Icy the affirmative to carry on with the diagnostics on 2, Kefka suited up, jumped in, and lifted off.
We'll show Ruby up in buckets...

Shrugging at Kefka's decision not to answer in, he split from the hangar. "Yo, Arty, come on! That transport won't defend itself! ...unless our briefing was sorely lacking in information..."

Kefka punched in the coordinates Orrin gave him, and he found himself next to Orrin.
"Allright Icharus, I'm here."

Orrin relaxed as the fighter took freefall orbit around the planet.
"We have a long wait, as we get to play perimeter. So, anything you want to talk about, chirp up. Let's face it. We'll be the first ones to spot danger... yea... danger... Like the Empire even knows we're here. We have what? Two to three squadrons of fighters, maybe one or two bases, and barely enough supplies and ships to make an impact. So, either snooze, or cruise. Talk with your droid if you want. Cause you, me, and your droid are the only three out here."

"Fine."
Kefka shut down his weapon systems, and added power to sensors, and then engaged the autopilot. He sat back in his chair and his thoughts returned to Celena.
