"Hey, I happen to be quite happy with my name. It means fiery, you know." Just like him. Fiery. If fire was highly energetic, almost spastic, and hard to put out, anyway. Maybe he needed to be splashed with some water.
Though Smiles suited too. He wasn't exactly unhappy with the name. Of course, he wasn't unhappy with much. Except the dark sky. And the shadowlings. And the horsemen. And their riders. Okay, he was technically unhappy with a lot of things...
The wagon barrel was shoved into the pile and actually landed its mark, this time. Ha! He didn't get distracted this time. That showed that damn barrel. He was the best at barrels.

Hay was safe. Apparently Piper's noodly knight arms could only handle their weight, plus that of a chicken. She was mildly disappointed, but not as much as she was with her aim.

It was a fearsome beast at the cusp of the wall, one of insurmountable size and that of fire and blazing tar. It looked about the field like toys of toddlers, tiny and replaceable.
It brought a chill to Damien's spine, despite the heat it was giving off. He was not going to allow it to get closer, even if he was not able to do much but strike feebly at the wing, but feeling something come loose from the great beast and then a loud crash. Beneath the cloud of dust lay a scale from the beast, more than a few inches in the ground, an angry slimy black piece that had an edge to it, massive and heavy given the impression it left. Sir Percival may not have been the knight he followed and swore his oath to, but the man was very dependable, and damien knew that he was in the blue knights debt.

She had hesitation about tossing the scared thing down, but then she saw their happy fellows holding a party underneath and decided it would have fun there. The toss was accurate but the chicken flew away out of fear.

Taking a glance at his fellow knight-apprentice's hair again, he did take a moment to observe it could probably be used as a nest quite readily, considering how poofy it was. Thankfully, though, he thought better of saying that particular phrase. "Perhaps they think you are a tree?" offered Ignatius, with a laugh.
... Okay, so he didn't get far from saying that particular phrase, anyway...
At the compliment to his name, he puffed out his chest for a moment, offering a, "Of course it's alright." It was his name, after all. At the comment of her being a bard, he clicked his tongue against the roof of his mouth. "You know, I kinda wish I knew what I was before ... all this."
Taking a moment to stop and ponder what he was seemed to allow the monster that was swooping at him to get off track and fumble off towards the side. Well, that was lucky...

Huffing, Piper waved her arms at him emphatically. "Ugh! Do I look like a tree to you?" The pause after that clued Ignatius into not answering that. "I'm a bona fide hot chick, not some leafy...tree."
She didn't have particularly witty responses with the amount of failures weighing her down. Pulling her sleeves up, Piper went for another wagon barrel.
"I don't care, really." She shrugged a little as she rolled it out. "Must not've been a good life if I think this was gonna be better. Least I'm trying to do something about it like this." And complaining every step of the way.

“Yeah it seems very unlucky” She responded to the other knight’s comment with a chuckle as she headed back to grab a new item that was hopefully luckier than the last one. Finding a wagon barrel she decided to head off with that. It was heavier than the spirit kegs she was used to but after a moment Cadence was able to find her balance.
