-]As much fun as Cerbera was having, She realized that she was accumulating quite the cluster of pokemon that were in pretty bad shape. With the Riolu that she'd just caught, she was up to five that needed serious treatment. As much as she would have liked to stay out here and get more skating fun time in before dark, her responsibility as a trainer told her that she should really get those new friends looked at sooner rather than later. She called Quill back over, letting the bird perch on her outstretched hand again and gave the Fletchling a congratulatory cuddle. "Rest now, Quill," she said, "you've been doing a great job so far," and then returned the bird to the appropriate ball. Cerbera turned to leave the park-like area of the city that she had been skating in and headed for the exit. However, something caught her attention, another noise. This wasn't like the others, no rustling in the bushes. No it was footsteps behind her, like she was being followed. Berrie ignored it at first and just skated on, going a little faster...however the footsteps kept pace with her, picking up to a run. Finally, Cerbera turned around, about to yell at the person, but stopped short before uttering a sound when she saw who it was.[- -]Behind Cerbera was an adorable young girl with pale features and bright red hair. She looked to be only about seven or eight years old, and when the older girl began to yell, this one cringed a bit but said nothing. Possibly the oddest thing about the girl was that she seemed to be wearing a bushy fox-like tail, like she was playing dressup or something. In the girl's arms was a large egg, a pokemon egg, and it seemed to be made from solid gold.[- -]Cerbera was completely flabbergasted, to be honest. She had not expected the person following her to be such an odd little girl...she was thinking maybe some pervert that would need a good sock in the gut or something, but this? And for her to be carrying such an odd egg with her....Where had the girl even come from? "What....What's your name, sweetie?" Cerbera asked once she had recollected her wits, trying to sound sweet so she didn't scare the girl off. Clearly the pokemon center would have to wait, she'd have to get this girl back to an almost certainly worried mother first.[- -]However, the girl didn't offer Cerbera an answer. She simply remained completely, mysteriously silent. What she did do, however, was lift the golden egg up to the older girl, offering it to her. Afterwards, she grabbed onto Berrie's shorts with one hand, the same lonely expression that her Haunter had given when it didn't want to be left behind. The girl's eyes then darted to both Yuki and Spirit and she spoke into their heads, [- -]Cerbera felt drawn to the egg as it was offered, as though it were meant for her. She didn't know where the odd feeling was coming from, but it was strong and she couldn't deny it. Reaching out, the girl took the egg from her smaller acquaintance and cradled it gently in her arms. When she felt the tug on her shorts and saw the look, Berrie's heart sank a bit. She had to help this little one for sure. "Sweetie..." she said, "Do you want me to help you find your mommy?"[-

She opened her mouth to say something, and stayed thay way for several moments before closing it again, the faintest trace of tears welling up in her eyes. She gave another soft tug on Berrie's clothes and pressed against the older girl.[- -]Before Cerbera could say anything more, though, Spirit cut in. Her head was canted to the side slightly as she looked at the smaller girl, as though trying to figure out what she was. The Espeon was sure it wasn't really a little girl, but beyond that....it was difficult. she told her friend.[- -]Cerbera let out a soft sigh, knowing that Spirit was probably right. "Well, maybe Nurse Joy might have...We were going back to the pokemon center anyway. Looking down at the girl she patted the little one very gently on the head and asked, "Do you want to come with us that far? The nurse at the Pokemon Center might be a big help in getting you back to your mommy."[- -]The girl gave the tiniest nod that Cerbera had ever seen, so small that it was barely even noticeable. She wasn't looking for a "mommy", whatever that was, but it was an invitation to go with the bigger girl, and that was what she wanted. Like Cerbera had felt drawn to the egg, this girl felt drawn to Cerbera. She knew, instinctively that she belonged with the bigger girl.[- -]"Okay," she said, "one second then..." Cerbera pulled her skates off and put them into her bag for safe keeping. It didn't make sense to wear them while she was escorting this little girl. Taking the girl's hand, Berrie led her back through town, attempting to make small talk with little success. "So...That is the cutest tail, sweetie. Were you dressing up as anything in particular?"[- -]The only thing that earned Cerbera was a blush and a hidden face. All of a sudden, the girl ducked behind Cerbera and hugged her leg tightly. She seemed quite frightened, and for good reason. A Wild Psyduck had just darted out across the road in front of them, and stopped to glare at the little girl.[- -]"Don't worry, sweetie," Cerbera said, crouching down tot he girl's height and giving her a pat on the head, "I won't let that mean ducky hurt you. Our friend Quill can take care of that bully easily." She took a pokeball from her belt and held it out towards the girl, who reached over and tapped the button. "Nice!" Cerbera said, grinning at the girl, "Okay, Quill, stop that nasty Psyduck! Tackle it!"[- -]The Fletchling nodded and took to the air, quickly closing the distance between itself and the Psyduck. It then dove, ramming into the wild pokemon, who bopped Quill right on the beak in return. Incensed, the little bird flapped up a few feet and rammed into the Psyduck, knocking it out for sure, this time.[-

-]With the Psyduck defeated, Cerbera recalled her pokemon and smiled. "You did great, Quill...Thank you. Rest for now." She tucked the pokeball away and looked back at the little girl hiding behind her. "It's okay now, sweetie," she said, her voice soft, "The mean Psyduck won't hurt you now. We're almost at the Pokemon Center too." She took the girl's hand again and headed for the large building once more.[- -]The little girl, nodded, taking Cerbera's hand and following along in silence. She was relieved that the big girl had taken care of that wild Psyduck, because it could have been very bad for her. She wanted to know more about this girl before revealing her true nature to Cerbera.[- -]When they got to the building, Cerbera handed in her pokemon who needed treatment to the nurse. Then the woman returned, Cerbera had a short talk with her about the girl, trying to find out if there was any way that Joy could help her find the little girl's mother. Unfortunately, the nurse was no help in that respect. She had never seen the girl before either. Disappointed, Cerbera crouched down beside the little girl again and said, "Don't worry, okay? I'm not going to give up on helping you get home. We'll find your mommy for sure."[- -]The girl smiled and gave Berrie a hug, her determination making the girl feel more comfortable. The girl was rather close to making a decision for sure, but the Pokemon Center was far too crowded a place for her liking. Maybe after they left...In the meantime, however, she just hugged the big girl back, glad to have met Cerbera.[- -]Cerbera was relieved that the little girl seemed to be put at ease by her promise, and she hugged the girl back until she was let go. Berrie stood back up then to collect her pokeballs which had come back from the nurse. As she touched her Azurill's ball, however, it began to glow. Chubbs popped out of the ball, glowing and making Cerbera gasp in surprise. The baby pokemon glowed just like the ball had begun to and the shape began to mutate, growing larger and changing shape. When the light faded, Chubbs had evolved into a Marill, and hopped into Cerbera's arms. Berrie hugged her newly evolved pokemon, exclaiming in delight. "Oh Chubbs! Great job! You look fantastic!" After celebrating her Marill's evolution for a little bit, she told the mouse, "I'm going to send you to the day care sweetie, okay? Grow big and strong, and make lots of friends there." She recalled her Marill and headed for the PC, sending her other new catches to the PC, but her Marill went to the Day Care.[-

-]The whole time that Cerbera was at the PC, transferring her pokemon that she couldn't keep in her party to storage or to the day care, she could feel the girl's grip on her leg as a constant reminder. She couldn't help but smile, finding an odd contentment with how much this little one had seemed to bond to her. She hoped that she would be able to help her little companion find her way back into her mother's arms, and yet...a part of Cerbera knew that it would be hard to say goodbye. As she got up from the PC, Cerbera took the girl's hand and said, "Come on, sweetie...Let's get going again. We can check the shops, see if maybe your mommy stopped into one of them."[- -]The girl nodded, taking the bigger girl's hand and holding onto it tightly. She let herself be led out of the Pokemon Center, alongside her new friend as well as the Espeon with the odd fur and the weirdly colored Haunter. When they were outside, she began to tug at Cerbera's hand, leading her around the side of the building. Still, she said nothing, but the look she gave the bigger girl was one of almost desperation.[- -]Cerbera was a little stunned by the little girl's expression, so she followed along without resistance. She thought that maybe the girl had caught a glimpse and they were close to finding where the little one belonged. Funnily enough, even though she was wrong, Berrie could not have known how right she was.[- -]Once they had rounded the side of the building and were alone, the little girl pulled her hand free of Cerbera's and left the bigger girl's hand palm up. She stared up into Berrie's eyes for a moment, holding her gaze, and decided she was sure about this girl. From seemingly nowhere, the little girl produced a pokeball and set it into Cerbera's upturned hand. The little girl pressed the button, and as the red light ensnared her body she told her new friend, [- -]Berrie cried out in alarm as the girl was sucked into the pokeball before her eyes. She tried to grab the girl with her empty hand, but it passed through as if the girl had never even existed. Cerbera's eyes were practically the size of saucers as she sand down to the ground on her bottom. "She's...She's gone," Berrie muttered, not believing her own eyes.[- -]Spirit was a little surprised herself, but she moved up to nuzzle her friend comfortingly. The Espeon also licked Berrie's cheek and told her, [- -]Cerbera hugged her Espeon tightly when it padded over, seeking comfort in the warm, green fur. She looked like she was on the verge of tears as the shock began to wear off, but that all stopped when Spirit told her that the girl wasn't a girl at all. "Then...that means...I didn't fail her?" she asked.[- -] the Espeon replied, enjoying the cuddling and the fact that she could be there to comfort her friend, [- -]Loofah croaked in agreement and leaned down from her perch on Cerbera's head, giving the girl's face an affectionate lick. She then hopped down, senses alert as though she heard something. Glancing back at her friend, Loofah saw that the girl was still absorbed in that surprising bit that had just happened with the little human, and though it was unexpected, Loofah didn't particularly hold much interest in it. She was far more interested in the rustling she had heard, and that proved rather fruitful. A Riolu popped out of hiding, a look of challenge in it's eyes, and the Froakie met that challenge with a loud croak. Her chest bulged a little and Loofah shot a powerful pulse of water at the fighting pokemon, sending it sprawling. As the Riolu conked out, Froakie began to glow, taking on a new form.[-

-]Spirits words really put Cerbera at ease, and the girl hugged her Espeon tightly as thanks for getting her spirits back up. It was taking time, but the girl was wrapping her mind around what had happened with the little girl. It wasn't until the light had begun to emanate from her Froakie that Berrie really snapped out of her semi-incoherent state. When the light had faded, the pokemon had nearly doubled in size, becoming a Frogadier instead. Cerbera gasped, getting up from the ground where she'd last flopped fown and practically tackling her frog with a tight hug. "Oh my goodness! Congratulations Loofah! I'm do proud of you!" she cried out.[- -]Spirit seemed to agree with the girl, coming over at a...slightly slower pace and nuzzling a part of the frog that wasn't caught in Cerbera's embrace. she asked, giggling a little inside the frog's head.[- -]Even Yuki drifted over to the newly evolved Frogadier, joining in the snuggle puddle and licking the not-so-little frog's cheek affectionately.[- -]Loofah croaked happily in response to all of the affection being piled on all at the same time. Eheheheh you guysssssss....stop it, I'm gunna bluuuuuush, She said, though that only made Spirit and Yuki back off a bit. Cerbera was still latched on tightly, still unable to understand.[- -]After continuing to hug her froggy for a fwe more minutes, Cerbera finally let go and looked Loofah in the eyes. "You understands that this means no more riding on my head, sweetie...I'm sorry, but you've gotten too big. You're still cute as a button, though, Loofah!" She smooched the Frogdier on top of the head and then stood up, stretching. "Come on guys, we should get going," she said, grinning from ear to ear. With nothing more to worry about, she could get back to her training, so the girl headed back for the park to see if she could find any more wild pokemon to challenge. A little while after they arrived, a little Litleo stumbled across their path. Granted, Berrie would have enjoyed testing her froggy's new power, but it seemed a bit like overkill.to her, so instead she called out her Aipom. "Come on out, Aerin! It's time to battle!" she said. As the pokemon materialized from it's ball she said, "Go for it buddy! Fury Swipes!"[- -]"Pooom!" Aerin cried out, flexing a bit in challenge towards the lion cub. Once he heard Berrie's directions, he looked over his shoulder at her and nodded. The pokemon then began to cartwheel, quickly closing the distance with the Litleo and getting right up in it's face. "Pom!" it cried out, swatting wht cub in the face with the hand-shaped tail. "Pom!" "Pom!" "Pom!" "Pom!" -]It seemed like Cerbera Was getting pretty lucky so far with finding lots of pokemon to train her team on. Either that, or perhaps they were being drawn to her for some reason, because she kept seeming to encounter them far more rapidly than she expected. Only a few minutes after having defeated that Litleo with her Aipom, a creepy wormy thing stumbled across her path. Her pokedex told her that it was a Dunsparce, but she didn't need the amazing machine to tell that it was something she'd never seen before. Still, it didn't look overly strong, so the girl felt confident that her pokemon could handle it easily. For that reason, she called out one of her weaker ones, her Fletchling. "Okay, Quill, let's do this," she said, "Wrap this up quickly. Quick Attack!"[- -]Quill cried out as she materialized, taking to the air immediately. She circled overhead for a moment, setting her sights on her foe. Once Quill had caught the Dunsparce in her eyes, she dove, folding her wings back and streaking towards the Dunsparce. The impact was rough, sending the Dunsparce slamming into a nearby tree trunk, out cold. Quill let out a victory cry and settled on the girl's shoulder.[- -]Cerbera grabbed a fresh pokeball from her belt, and tossed it, catching the wild pokemon with ease. She grinned from ear to ear, pumping her fist in victory and then stroking her Fletchling's cheek. "Good girl," she said, "You were wonderful." After a few moments, the girl recalled her bird pokemon into her pokeball. "Rest for now, sweetie," she said. After collecting her new pokemon, the girl tucked the ball away and got out the one that held her Zorua, even though she wasn't quite sure what was inside. That question had been burning in her mind since the alleyway, and she had finally decided to meet the little girl for real now. "Lua," she said softly, activating the ball.[- -]As the light from the pokeball materialized, the little girl once more took form, hugging Cerbera's leg tightly. the girl asked her, not a single word of it spoken. She looked up at the bigger girl with an almost pleading look.[- -]Cerbera bit her lip when she saw the look on the little girl's face. She wasn't mad, but still a bit confused. However, with how sad the little one looked, she couldn't be as rough as she probably would have been otherwise. She knelt down, wrapping her arms around the girl and hugging her tightly. "Of course I'm not mad, Lua," she replied, her voice soft, "You're still a mistery to me though...What...kind of pokemon are you? Why did you pick me? How....did you even know where to find me? And...What's up with that egg?"[-

-]Lua was visibly relieved when the big girl said that she wasn't mad, but the questions that followed were all a bit overwhelming. The little girl bit her lip much as the older girl had, and she pulled away. She chose only one of the questions to answer, the one that she felt would be the most important. she replied, seeming a bit nervous to admit, [- -]A Zorua? That was another one that Cerbera was unfamiliar with, so she opened her pokedex and brought up information on it. "Oh, okay," the girl said, softly, listening to the dex's entry. "That actually helps a lot, sweetie. Thanks for telling me." She gave the little girl a peck on the cheek. "I don't dislike it," Cerbera told the Zorua, "In fact I think you look adorable like this. If you want to keep this form when we're out and about, then that's perfectly fine by me, Lua."[- -]Lua looked up, surprised by both the kiss and the sweet words about pretending to be a human. she asked, gasping a bit. The little girl threw herself at Cerbera, hugging the bigger girl tight around the neck.[- -]Berrie wrapped her arms around the girl as well, picking her up as she stood and hugging Lua close. "Really," she said, "All of my pokemon are like family to me, and that includes you now too, Lua...no matter what form you take. I'm going to take good care of you from now on, sweetie." Cerbera could tell from the look on the little one's face that she was elated to hear that, and she giggled a bit as Lua's hug tightened. "Now then," she said, "We're training a bit more before we head on to the next town...but if you're not interested you don't have to fight. Think it over and later on you can tell me what you decide."[- -]As she spoke to the Zorua in her arms, Loofah had spotted another wild pokemon wandering around the park and patted Berrie on the hip to get her attention. She then pointed the Psyduck out to her and croaked.[- -]Cerbera looked down at her Frogadier as Loofah got her attention and followed the indicated line of sight. "Ohh, nice once, Loofah," she said, "Thanks for spotting it! I think it's a good idea to let Quill take this one again." Shifting the girl in her arms, Berrie got Quill's pokeball out and called the bird forth. "Okay Quill, one more time! Give that Psyduck a solid tackle!"[- -]The Fletchling nodded, flying over towards the unaware Psyduck, and once it got in close, let out a cry of challenge. As the duck looked up into the sky, a blank look on it's face, Quill dove down and rammed the duck hard, knocking it for a loop.[-

Unfortunately, the celebration was not as long-lived as it could have been. Cerbera spotted a rustling patch of grass right nearby the small bird. "Ahh, Quill, look out!" she called out.[- -]Apparently, Quill had spotted the rustling as well, and she took to the air just in time as a single flower burst out of the patch, stopping right where the bird had been standing a moment before. On closer inspection, the flower itself was not moving, but being manipulated by some sort of creature that was using it like an umbrella.[- -]Cerbera quickly drew her pokedex to see what in the hell this strange thing was, a smile crossing her face as the device positively identified it. "Oooh, that would make a great addition to our little group, Quill! Tackle it!"[- -]Quill nodded visibly and dropped out of the air like a rock, slamming hard into the umbrella fairy, ramming the poor Flabebe into the ground and knocking it out. Quill then stood over the fallen pokemon triumphantly and began to chirp.[- -]Berrie tucked her pokedex away and got out a fresh pokeball. She tossed it at the Flabebe and, a few shakes later, had caught herself a new fairy-type.[-

-]Cerbera walked over, picking up her new pokemon's ball and tucking it away. She noticed that she was gathering up quite a few recent acquisitions, most of whom were in bad shape currently. She made a mental not that she would have to make her first stop later a pokemon center so that they could be properly treated. With the ball put away, Cerbera scooped Quill up in her free hand and moved the small bird to her shoulder. "You've been doing great so far, sweetie...I'm so proud of you," she told the Fletchling, pecking it lightly on the cheek and getting a happy chirp in return. Seeing no more wild pokemon in the vicinity, Cerbera decided to move on, heading deeper into the park. After a few minutes of searching, she came across another Dunsparce and grinned. "Oooh, look at that Quill," she said, pointing the snake-thing out, "I bet you gan take that easily...Go on and give it a tackle."[- -]The Fletchling nodded, chirping a bit as she hopped off of the girl's shoulder and into the air. She streaked towards the snake, ramming it hard and sending it tumbling in one shot.[- -]The little girl was watching the bird pokemon's every movement, grinning. She was impressed by Quill's triumph after triumph, and clapped for the birdie before wrapping her arms back around Cerbera's neck and hugging her tightly.[-

"Cutie," she said, her grin growing to practically reach from ear to ear.[- -]Lua let out a quiet giggle as the bigger girl showed her affection and she nuzzled against Cerbera, returning the affection. She had been right to trust this sweet girl.[- -]For her part, Cerbera was delighted to have made so many amazing friends so quickly on her journey. What's more, she was sure that she'd be able to convince her parents that she was doing well too....though she had to admit, Berrie was also sort of eager to see the look on their faces when she brought this sweet little girl home. That would be endlessly entertaining. She was pulled from her musings, however, but the quacking of a curious psyduck. Once she had spotted the duck pokemon, Cerbera called to her bird pokemon, "Quill! Another Psyduck. Give it a tackle!" This one looked stronger than some of the others she'd seen around here, so she was expecting a more exciting battle.[- -]On hearing the girl's directions, Quill circled around back towards Cerbera and the Psyduck. It gave a louder than usual cry, her eyes flashing red for a moment. Once more the bird dove at her prey, ramming the Psyduck hard and sending it flying into the fountain, out cold.[-

-]The thud of the Psyduck hitting the fountain and the resulting splash drew the ire of a wild Bidoof. It had been drinking from said fountain, and now it was all wet from the splash. Looking in Cerbera's direction, it growled threateningly, looking decidedly stronger than some of the rabble the girl had faced otherwise. Cerbera's eyes grew wide as the creature stalked closer. "Ohhh, that's not good," she said, glancing voer at her Fletchling, "It looks like he has a bone to pick with us, Quill. Hurry up and get him first. Tackle!"[- -]The Fletchling had swooped back up into the air as soon as it had hit the Psyduck, so it had a good vantage point to see the Bidoof stomping closer. At her trainer's call, the bird cried out and dove, ramming into the rat-like thing.[- -]Cerbera clenched her first, hoping that was the end of it, but this Bidoof was pretty tough, for sure. It was able to withstand the blow and rammed right back into the bird, knocking Quill out of the air and making Cerbera gasp. "Oh gosh! Quill!" she cried out, but was relieved to see her pokemon was relatively okay. "Hit it back with a peck, sweetie!"[- -]Quill was pretty incensed to be struck back, it having become a rather uncommon occurrence. She had been thinking the same thing as Cerbera and struck back at the Bidoof with her beak, dealing the final blow.[- -]The strike was more than the Bidoof could take and it toppled over. Cerbera threw a pokeball immediately, the ball not even shaking before it locked down. Clearly the will to fight had been beaten out of the pokemon. Cerbera then ran over to check on her Fletchling, getting a potion from her bag and treating the bird's wounds.[-

It seemed like a nice spot to take a break and have a snack, after all. The girl gave a few pieces to each of her pokemon that were out, including giving a small handful to the little girl who would munch on them happily. As soon as Quill caught up to the little monster, she pecked it hard in the back of the head, knocking it over and making it slide a few feet, out cold. "Iron tail," Simon called out as Mareep's tail started to glow silver as he tumbled forward slamming his tail down on the flat Pokemon knocking it out along with the smile on George's face. "You can't assume that because you have a type advantage that you'll always be victorious."
