 Lisa's surprise at suddenly having both Mindy and Jay in the room caught her off guard. She blushed brightly and pursed her lips together. She was utterly humiliated. What was so wrong about this? They were a legitimate couple, weren't they? They probably knew more about each other than more couples out there. So even if yesterday was their first meeting they were still a lot closer than her sister and Mindy seemed to think. The whole thing was embarrassing.
To make it better Mindy now had Lisa in a big hug as she pulled Lisa back away from Dan. In doing so Mindy had also created a slip and Lisa nearly fell back and lost her balance. She clamped her legs tightly together to stop anything from showing. Lisa closed her eyes tightly. It had to be a dream. How could they possibly have found them? There were thousands of people present in this room, and somehow Mindy and Jay found them. It wasn't fair. "Get off me please, Mindy." Lisa said firmly. Mindy released her and she sat up ridgy straight.
Her eyes turned to Jay and she snapped back at her sister. "We've already talked about it Jay. We're not going to do anything. You know how I feel about that sort of thing and Dan agrees. He is the one who brought it up. We are more responsible than you think we are." Lisa's eyes stung with tears. A mix of emotions flooded her and all she wanted to do was leave the room. She didn't care about the opening ceremony right now. She just wanted to escape her hell sentence. Her voice was now affected by her emotion, "Besides Jay, if he wanted to do anything he could have done it this morning when we were alone. If we haven't done it already can't you at least have a shred of respect for us as a couple?"Mindy looked over at Jay in an expression that read, we really did something wrong, didn't we? She had thought it was a game, up till Lisa started tearing. She was almost fearful about how Dan would react. She had seen Rock before when he was kept from what he wanted. He could turn pretty dark himself. Dan was new to her as well, so Mindy really had no idea what would happen now. For now she placed her hands gently on Lisa's shoulders. "There there Lisa." She said softly, "We meant nothing by it, honest." Mindy felt completely awful, and she wanted to make it all right again. It seemed, however, that Lisa could not be comforted by Mindy, it had to be by another source.

Jay watched everything and still smiled but her eyes were not smiling from being mean but from more of an understanding and pride of a big sister. She looked at Dan and winked and slapped lightly at his knee as she slipped by to kneel in front of her sister and talked getnyl but very honestly to her, “Sis, I know. I trust you too.” With a glance over at Mindy and a light laugh she added to her sister and could not help her grin, “Mindy reminded me of something a little while ago, I don’t think she even realized she did… it’s what loves do…” She grinned and said, “It’s realizing your kid sis has just grown up and become an adult and while will always be the kid sister is now an adult too. Someone to share things with as an adult and who knows one day maybe even hit one of the clubs back home and take off for a girls night out leavin the guys to watch the kids.” She made certain she looked Lisa in the eyes and smiled with pride and finished, “It’s having a sister to share the world with now as adults while looking out for each other.”

Seeing how emotional Lisa was becoming he took her hand losing interest in Mindy's and Jay's antics. His face felt warm as he wasn't exactly sure what to do so he took Lisa's hand in his and gently rubbed it like before to show her he was still here for her. Her sister's words were touching to hear even if the full affect of them was probably lost to rhythmic beats of music and flashing lights about them. His first concern was to help keep Lisa calm.

Lisa's hand tightened around Dan's when he took it in his hand. That was enough to keep her stable. That was enough to support her. She was breathing deeply to keep from crying. This was almost embarrassing in itself, how everyone's attention was on her. She understood, however, that this was her family, and they were all here, and they all loved her. They were all family, each and everyone of these silly fools. Lisa smiled slightly as her other hand covered her mouth to keep her from making any ungodly noises that could come out when one was upset. She didn't register that they would probably be lost in the beats and swirling music. "Thanks Jay." She said softly, nearly under control. "I hope that is really how you believe after everything that I've done recently. I hope you can look at me and see me as an adult. I am in love Jay, so head over heels in love." She was bent over to say this directly into Jay's ear so she could hear it over the music. "Please, respect him. I love him Jay, and I think he loves me too. We know each other very well. We were in love with each other's souls before we met the bodies. We've talked about our feelings on relationships. We know where the other stands and we respect the boundaries. It is much more complex then you might think. I do love him though, please know that." Lisa said to her sister, and she followed this with a kiss on her sister's cheek. A tender sign that she was forgiving her, but also a plead for understanding. This, she tried to portray by pulling Dan's hand towards her, not to hurt him, or impose movement upon him. Once his hand was close to the two of them she kissed it then placed it against Jay's cheek where she had kissed her. She sat up a bit, still looking at her sister, and still holding Dan's hand tightly in her grasp. (Not hard enough to hurt him, of course. heart )

Dan was a little confused but so long as Lisa was feeling better the actions of placing his hand upon her sister's cheek was something he might understand someday but for now he would pay it no mind. It was a touching scene even if the techno and pulsating lights seem to draw from it a little.
"I love you Lisa. Someday I will give you that first kiss and try to make it as memorable as our attempt right now." Dan said talking into her ear now so the others did not hear over the music.

Lisa smiled and nodded in agreement. She looked over at Dan and nodded once more. She was sure there would be many times in which the two of them could share in the corny "true love's first kiss." She kissed his hand once more and squeezed it tightly in her's. With the comfort of her family and friends Lisa was once again calm. Lisa sat up and leaned against Dan's arm, careful to avoid bumping her ears, or to avoid getting make up on him. Suddenly the lights all went out in the room. There was an enormous roar from the audience that followed abruptly. The excitement in Lisa began to raise and she wanted to scream with all of the others.

Dan was caught off guard as the flashy lights and music went away and the darkness fell over the crowd. Upon the stage young ladies in kimonos came out and something that sounded like traditional Japanese music echoed through the room. The routine of the girls was a complete 180 degree change from the chaotic start that they came into it. In a way it enhanced the serene moment as the girls danced amazingly well and in sync with each other. Dan continued to rub Lisa's hand as the dance went on. It was almost like even though they were consumed by the dark they were connected by this simple touch as the girls effectively welcomed everyone to the opening of Baka con.

Lisa's eyes went up to the stage where the little girls all stood now. Each was dressed in a unique kimono, and each held a trimming of a cherry tree branch. Lisa's mouth dropped open and a quiet "Awwwwww," escaped. Lisa also kept her hand in Dan's and as she did so she returned the gentle rubbing motion. The act was quite soothing after the past few heated moments. Once the young dancers were done with their performance the lights went out once more. This was followed by a deafening applause for the little ladies. Lisa joined in, but only slightly as she gently clapped the top of Dan's hand. She laughed softly while doing so. She was back to enjoying herself now. Looking up at Dan she asked, "Hey, did you like that?" But almost instantly her voice faded out as the three huge screens at the front of the room lit up.

Dan considered answering when suddenly the displays lit up with many images flashed by with what he could only imagine were pictures and videos of things that happened in previous years to a catchy high paced song sung in Japanese. Dan got a good feeling about some of the things available and he almost wished they had time to talk about the plan of what to see since there is no way they could catch everything these next few days. He knew he could trust Lisa to show him many fun things so he was not going to worry.

Lisa was in pure bliss. With her fingers threaded through Dan's she watched the annual AMV the convention created. She loved seeing how different it was each year. Unfortunately it only lasted what seemed like seconds before the room was dark once again. Lisa released her pent up breath in a big sigh. Her thoughts had done a 360. She no longer was upset about the recent happenings. She was sitting on the edge of her seat waiting for the next thing to happen. Suddenly, just as suddenly as the first two items of the opening ceremony, a voice appeared over the speaker system. "Hello, hello, helloooooooo!" A deep voice said, echoing through the room, rolling in the darkness. Suddenly all the lights came on at once and turned off again. This caused the crowd to groan. "Oooooooo, I'm a ghost!" The voice said in an attempt at a scary voice. The crowd erupted in laughter, there were a few shrill screams mixed in, but that was all to be expected. White lettering flashed across the board, "You just lost the game." Another groan escaped from the groups of people sitting in their chairs. A central light came on and it focused on a man standing in the center of the stage alone. He laughed, a big, good natured laugh. "Welcome Ladies and Gentlemen to our annual Baka con!" Suddenly arms were in the air all around as hooting and hollering took over. "Are you all excited to be here?" Another scream filled the room, this one Lisa joined in with. For such a quiet girl she could be really loud when she wanted to be. "What? No really, I think that noise made me go deaf!" He said over the microphone. He was laughing again. "Well ladies and gents, we have a great convention planned for you this year. We have a few great musicians here as well as some excellent voice- wow, that is a bright light. I swear, it's like heaven is calling to me. Could you wait just a little longer?" He asked the bright light. "I'm in the middle of something here. Think about how sad it would make all of these wonderful, beautiful people here." There were cries of protest, random shouting. "Well, it would make most of them sad." The man said with a shrug of his shoulders. "Anyway, despite the bright light shining in my eyes we have an awesome display set up for you today, so before we do much more I'll let another charming group of performers come up and do their thing." The man left the stage and walked off to the side and the stage went dark again.

Jay smiled at her sister and winked and managed to grab the seat next to them and stretched her legs out and yawned. When the show began she could not help but smile at her sisters reaction and thought the presentations were pretty good for an event this size. Well thought out and definatly done to get the people into the mood of the event and to enjoy themselves.
She turned to look over at her sister and just about jumped out of her skin as her cell phone in her pocket vibrated. “Damn…” she muttered and laughed a bit and struggled with her outfit to pull out the phone and check the number. She frowned when she finally drug the phone out of its pocket prison and had missed the call. Seeing that it was an unknown number she rolled her eyes and started to put the phone back only to have it vibrate again. This time it was for a text message. She huffed and opened her phone and read the message and laughed. Standin up she headed back out to the isle and stopped to lean over her sister and said in her ear, “Call from Rock sis, I’m going to take it in the lobby where it’s quiet.”
Before she walked into the isle she flipped her phone so Mindy could read the name on the message and then pointed towards the doors showing her best friend shed be out there. Quickly getting to the isle and walking to the doors she started texting a reply back before she even went out the doors. Not watching where she was going fully she ended up bumping into one of the many security that kept watch over the event and kept things under control and knocked him into the door. “Ooops sorry! Gotta run!” she quickly said as she sent her text back to her husband and jogged away from the event security dude before anything else could be said.

Dan didn't understand the humor of the man very well but it made Lisa happy so he was happy as well. Then when the next act came out the sheen of swords caught his eye as well as the semi reflective outfits of the martial artists. Suddenly the routine exploded as flashing metal moved gracefully as the choreographed show really came to life with not only great acrobatics but humorous moments as well. Dan was caught up in the excitement of the crowd as the show was ending when jay began to furiously rummage through her pockets, said something to Lisa he couldn't hear, and then quickly exited. Dan looked to Lisa to see her reaction to make sure everything was alright.

Mindy looked around after Jay when she got up and left the convention. She frowned slightly, worried about her. Hopefully this phone call didn't have any bad news wrapped in. She decided she would stay, for the moment, but if Jay didn't come back soon then she would go in search of her, or maybe just text her. But nearly immediately after the next show began. Mindy looked around, her attention completely taken by the show. She would worry about Jay in a little bit.Lisa looked off after her sister. She knew who the phone call was from, and like Mindy she hoped everything was alright. Her attention also was drawn to the stage when the next performance began. She caught Dan's look and said to him, "It's Rocky. I hope everything is alright. Jay seemed to be in good moods." She smiled and took Dan's hand again.The man who had been speaking came up on stage once more. He thanked all of the actors and groups who had participated so far. He then went on to thank all of the guests, both actors and actresses, musical groups and manga artists or anime directors. Lisa shook her head."Wow, there are always so many of them. I think there may be more this year than any other year before though." She told Dan. The man then introduced the next preforming group. "Please welcome the Taiko drummers!" The crowd was awed by the heavy rhythms and beats of this powerful group. This was followed with the Chairman coming onto the stage with another unknown figure.

Dan nodded and smiled to show he heard Lisa even over the excitable crowd around them. Then the drums came out and stirred the crowd into even more of a frenzy as he gently squeezed Lisa's hand. Something going wrong would be most unfortunate alright. Not only for Lisa but how could he go forth and have fun if Lisa was miserable with bad news?

"Now, with this happy union out of the way, I formally welcome you all to Baka Con. We have a lot of really fun things set up for you all this year!" The man's voice boomed over the loud speakers. "And now, with everything out of the way, I hope you'll all have a fun time! Get to it!" He called.
A loud roar erupted from the crowd, and people all around began to get up from their seats and move toward the lighted exit.
Lisa turned and snuggled against Dan's side. "They're done, did you have fun?" She asked her boyfriend. "Would you like to follow the crowd, or wait until they're nearly out?" She asked in her soft tone. She followed this with a soft, "Chiiiii~" sigh. "This makes an odd coupling, doesn't it?" She asked softly as her lips brushed past his neck.
