LT nodded his head and sighed, he leaned back in his chair and rubbed the ridge of his nose with his index and thumb. He stretched, and yawned, "I wish i could Luo, there is just so much to do, and i have to get my squad ready for the chunnin exams. I havent had time to train them much either." LT filled a mug of coffee and sipped at it. "My squad was thinking about summoning, is it to early for them you think?"

Varro stood in front of the building he had come to earlier that day. The adrenaline from the spar at this point had long faded, and seeing a place he had been to hours before, at a time that he still hadn't slept reminded him and his body just how exhausted he really was. It was nearing another full day that he had not slept, his mind and body too contained by everything he was trying to do. Learning what he was taught, mastering them all. Working on his projects, trying to perfect the weaponry he had made. Teaching himself how to use an unorthodox bo staff modification that was far from easy to master, but showed great potential in being a very dangerous asset.

Then there was of course the secret he had learned last time he was here, he hadn't been given much time to really process it. His father wasn't the man he thought he was, he was honestly someone greater. Caliga Hai'Auo, the great mist business man was once a great Shinobi, and part of the Ushio clan. Varro wished he could speak to him all about it, he needed to know the reasons it was all hidden. That was for a later time though, but he was unsure when that time would be given.

Taking in a breath, Varro erased his thoughts and pushed open the doors. Stepping into the building he was greeted by all the same ladies, who he nodded and greeted in return as he made his way to the Mizukage's office. When he arrived to that same door, he stopped only briefly, pushing his thoughts that tried to burst out and take hold of his mind again. With that done, and his mind quiet, he knocked.

LT shifted in his chair to face the doorway, his tired expression was still hanging on to his face. He needed sleep, fast. But he couldnt, he had to still watch the genin exams. "Come in." He called, half expecting it to be a foreign shinobi, or another problem he would have to take care of.

Varro hesitated a moment when the voice that beckoned him didn't quite sound like the one he was expecting. 'Lt was at the Academy, was it a clone this whole time?' he thought as he opened the door finally, stepping into the office. The men sitting before him both looked just as tired as him, though he expected they had probably accomplished a lot more in their sleep depriving work.

He bowed to them both, now fairly sure that the man at the academy was a clone, or was the one here a clone. This was the same one that sent him to the academy to begin with, so... he pushed it away. His mind was wondering again, and it had a serious habit of doing so when he was exhausted.

"Lt Sensei, Lord Mizukage," He said in respectful greeting, "I am ready for my Genin exam."

Mizutenma walked up to the building. He felt that he could walk again so he made his water clone back into water vapor. He still didn't like to talk though cause of his broken jaw. Mizu knew Varro was probably going into Mizukage's office right now so he started to go in. He walked down to Mizukage's office and saw that Varro was walking inside. Mizu took his time entering the room. He saw LT and Mizu sighed wishing to get away from that man.

A small piece of energy leaped into LT when he saw Mizutenma recognize him. Tares smiled as he seemed to know what Mizu was thinking, "You cant get away from me, Im every where." But LT was taken aback when Varro addressed him first before the Mizukage. LT turned his head to Luo and shrugged. "We have here are your files, any back ground history we could find, how well you have done so far in conducting anything from your jutsu down to how you conduct your self and hold your attitude, and even how you tie your shoes." LT shuffled his papers in-front of him and pulled out a blank piece of paper to jot notes down on. "Now, if you were sent here, then that means my counter part believes that you are prepared for the genin exam. He would not have sent you if he didnt think you were ready. Now the only question is, do you believe that you are ready?"

The files that Lt hinted at caught Varro's attention, just as all the paperwork on Luo's desk had before. This time though the mention that those documents held knowledge of who he is, who he was, and what he came from interested him to no end. The latter portion of that especially, he was sure that those simple papers knew more about him then he did. He didn't notice how he had addressed his superiors, seeing and hearing Lt there had caught him by surprise and he simply didn't notice.

When he was asked if he was ready, he had been fairly certain that he had that answer.

"Of course Lt Sensei, I felt ready the day I stepped into the academy," He replied immediately, there was no hesitation. It was completely the truth. After the first demon attack his mind had been made up. Everything he had worked towards, the business he was running alongside his father, the reputation for fine craftsmanship he had gained in the village. All of it was over that day, and he was ready to become someone who could defend the people. Someone he had just recently learned earlier that day, who was born to do just that.

Mizutenma was shocked when he heard about the files knowing everything about him. He looked at the files on Luo's desk. Mizu wanted to take them but knew he was still in no condition to fight anyone. "Yes," Mizu asked looking at LT with disgust still annoying the pain in jaw. He wanted to be the best swordsman as soon as possible so he didn't turn down anything.

As Tares asked Luo his opinion on squad three learning to summon, Luo shook his head a bit prefacing his answer. "I don't think any of them are ready yet. Maybe when after I send you and your squad on that mission to Takigakure I'll be able to discern whether or not I feel any of those boys are capable of handling such power. Until then, my answer stands at a no." As the last word he spoke sounded out, a knock on the door could be heard at the exact same moment. Not capable of recovering fast enough from his previous response to LT's question, he found Tares capable of answering who Luo guessed to be Varro by the knock. As the boy came in, Luo finished up some paperwork quickly during his conversation with Tares. He hoped indeed that the boy was ready for his exam.

Closing a few files on his desk, Luo looked up in time to catch Mizutenma walking into the room. As he spoke to Tares, Luo could feel the venom seeping through his curt words. Not only that, but when a jaw is broken it emits a distinct clicking noise from the initially fractured area. Having broken other jaws as well as his own, Luo knew the popping noise well and could only serve to affirm it had something to do with tares as the young boy stared at Tares. As a light sigh escaped his lips as Luo's gaze remained on the two genin, he spoke finally to Tares once more. "...You used the 'fight to the death' tactic again didn't you? Training new ANBU recruits has made you a bit harsh, but I suppose it serves its purpose."

As Luo's eyes had continued to observe Mizutenma, he at last addressed him. "I can tell you are displeased with the training you had to go through, but might I remind you to wipe that look off of your face. It isn't polite to stare at your elders in such a way, much less the one teaching you in the arts you signed up to learn. The training exercise LT put you guys through served only to teach you to do anything to survive, as well as give you some insight into our villages' bloody past. If you feel that this exercise was too much, I would suggest dropping out of the academy and stopping your pursuit of the genin rank altogether right now." Standing up and picking up two files, Luo began to walk towards the door. Passing the two genin and standing facing the opposite direction on the outside of the door, Luo muttered back to them before continuing on his path. "However, if you feel that you are able to take what we throw at you with vigor and without a disgusted look on your face whenever you encounter something you dislike, then you may take your test now. But think hard, both of you. Once you take this test and hopefully pass, you will deal with greater hardships than that." With that final statement, Luo walked down to the exam room, setting his files up in the room as he flicked on the lights and sat down. He wondered if both the students would show enough courage to come.

Before Luo exited, Mizutenma said," I'm not mad at his teachings Mizukage. I actually like them but I just don't like him. I won't drop out." Mizu was looking at Luo in a respectful manner. He watched Luo leave the room and looked at Varro and asked," You still gonna enter the exams?"

Varro gave a glimpse out of the corner of his to Mizutenma, taking note of the way he once again spoke to Lt. There was disgust there, and it was returned in kind with the way Varro glared at the boy he had recently given respect to as a sparring partner. Though when Luo took his turn to speak, he listened carefully and gave the Mizukage his full attention. This man would one day be his teacher as well, even though Luo had stated that it was a possibility. The idea that he would not be able to attain the man's respect and earn the place that his birth rite afforded him never crossed his mind. Determination had gotten him far as a normal villager, and he had no doubt it would get him further as a Shinobi.

When Luo walked out of the office to go to the exam room, there was again no hesistation from Varro, but a simple glance to Lt and then to Mizu, "Your attitude would be better served swallowed deep before it gets you killed. Emotions at our rank are to be put in check," he whispered harshly to Mizu. It was the way he had treated Lt in the first class they had attended together that made Varro take their spar before so very seriously. He had hoped that Mizu would be more humble now, at least until he had achieved those goals he had.

With that he followed Luo, turning into the exam room he stood before the Mizukage. Straight with his arms folded behind his back, there was not an ounce of doubt or nervousness left at this stage. Even the exhaustion he had felt earlier disappeared. There was too much at stake in this, and he would not let his want for sleep ruin it.

"I guess his right," Mizutenma said to himself. He looked at LT. "I'm sorry master," he said bowing to him. He walked out of the room and went to the exams room. He kept thinking about what Luo and Varro said to him and wanted to change his ways.

As Luo ruffled through a few papers, he finally opened Varro's file. If the boy were interested enough to see what was in the file, the most he would be able to make out from his distance was the picture he had taken in order to enter the academy. Next to it were a few minor details such as his blood type, height, weight, etc. Picking up a rather sleek and ostentatious blue pen with gold trim, Luo scribbled the boy's name on the exam sheet, ready to take notes into his file as well. As he wrote a few things down, Luo spoke to Varro at last after a few moments of Silence. "Tell me Varro, why is it that you wish to become a shinobi of the mist, and furthermore what do you think you will gain from this experience." As his pen ceased to move, Luo set it down and looked up at his potential student. He was quite interested in what he had to say.

Varro stood quiet when the question was asked, his mind working over an answer. His face was pensive and then calmed as he felt it would be better to just speak everything on his mind about this subject. He took in a breath.

"Before the demon attack on this village that cost the lives of many, I would have said I didn't have an interest..." He paused a moment, as he thought about that, "Well, that's not true, I had a vague interest. It was the reason I studied tactics and the history of the ninja wars very heavily. I was raised though in an environment that subdued those interests to nothing more than a hobby of intellect. I have always wanted to do what was best for the people, and my father had done so well by many of them with his work. I had the ambition to follow in his footsteps and start my own side business with my inventions and knack for machine work. My father taught me that the Shinobi, while relevant and important, sacrificed too much of themselves to serve a purpose that most the villagers never quite knew about. He told me that someone with my mind and talents would be able to serve the village better if I worked with them and assisted in their everyday lives. Not to operate in the shadows and work behind it all."

He brought a hand to brush through his hair as he turned his eyes to the area behind Luo as he continued to speak, "he taught me martial arts and how to use the bo staff when I was very young, and I think that may have sparked my intrigue in the way of the shinobi. I never quite agreed with his philosophy, but as of today I think I understand it a bit more. When the demon attacked the village, I watched so many die... so many I had gotten to known and love. I was helpless to assist, and save them, I could do nothing but hide and try to save myself," There was anger present on his face, that was mixed with a hint a sadness. He paused for just a brief moment to recollect himself, "The shinobi protect the people, they watch after them and save them in the face of tragedy. Even in the face of a tragedy that they will never know of. My mind is capable of great things, this I am confident... and I swore to use it in a way that best provided for the people."

He turned his gaze directly back to Luo, his expression one of pure determination, "I want to be a shinobi to serve and protect my home and its people. I will gain knowledge, a thing I always crave. I will gain strength, an asset that will make me better suited for the goal I have had since a child, and I will gain respect for myself for doing what has always been in my heart."

Mizutenma was standing at the door to the exams room listening to Varro talk about his past and why he wanted to become a ninja. Mizu thought about how his father died in the line of duty for his village when Mizu was 7. He thought about how lucky Varro was lucky to still have a father. Mizu kept waiting for Luo's response before he knocked to enter the exams room.
