Roland shook his head with a laugh. "No they weren't rude. I'm not a party kind of wolf." He said shrugging, "It's not a big deal."

Maximus smiled. "I see. I don't think I could handle much of a party either. At least with certain packmates around." He laid back his ears in annoyance, thinking of Enigma who was always loud while talking about partying.

Roland shook his head laughing. "It's been awhile since I left the party. It could be dying down." He said unwrapping his tail, "What's wrong with your pack mates?"

I ran down to the basement and hid behind a particularly large box. As soon as I got comfortable I heard, "READY OR NOT! HERE I COME!"

Maximus shook his head. "I guess nothing is actually wrong with him, per say, but he is very loud. Very into parties and such. So, not much my style. I just find it a little annoying sometimes. Do you know anyone like that?"

Roland thought about what Maximus said for a minute. "No. No one in my pack is like that. At least not that I know of." He said wondering who Maximus was talking about.

Roland smirked at Maximus. "I guess. Well I guess I'm glad I don't know this Enigma." He said, "I wouldn't mind someone who enjoys parties but if they drag me along well that's another thing."

Flicking his ears, Maximus glanced at the stairs. "I'm thinking that I should have let him get me this time. He was talking about a party... it might have been the one the knights are throwing." He turned back and shrugged, smiling again. "Who knows. It's probably safer that I go on my own."

Roland nodded swishing his tail. "It might have been. I probably saw him but just don't know it." He said, "Yeah it just might be safer if you go alone."

Maximus nodded grimly. "Yeah. He'd probably make a big event of telling everyone that I'd never been to a party before, even though I was at a small party a while ago. It was a birthday party, just the pack was there, but still a party."

Roland looked at Maximus like he was shocked. "You have never been to a party before?!" He said in fake disbelief, "Well I guess a small birthday party counts. You should go to the knights party so that you can say you've been to a real party." He nodded and got a serious look.

Maximus furrowed his brow, trying to decide if Roland was teasing him. "I don't think never going to a party is that big a deal..."

Roland smiled at Maximus. He usually wasn't humorous or didn't tease but he was for once. "Oh it is." He said nodding with a grave look, "Your never going to meet anyone and if anyone finds out they'll make fun of you."

Maximus shook his head. "What else is new?" He mumbled to himself. Teasing wasn't new to him, but he didn't want to give others another reason to laugh, even if their cause for laughing wasn't an important issue to him. He looked at the stairs. "Maybe I should be going..." He said hesitantly, wondering if he would actually go into the knight's party or keep walking until he got back to his room.
