"Don't worry. If it can fly Kiro and I can bring it to ground. And it shouldn't target you more than any of us, Aretha. You just don't seem like you have a lot of combat experience, that's why I want Isaac to keep an eye on you. Because if you can't make a seal for its spirit, then I'm going to have to. And as long as I don't have to that's one more person we have that can focus on killing it." William said as he led the team past some of the local guards and out through a gap in their fencing. He continued walking across the open ground outside of the town and into the broken treeline.

Gene noticed that Emma seemed to be passing her seniority off on him. He didn't care. The mission was the same. It just meant that he would have to be the one to do most of the communicating with the locals. He certainly couldn't push the responsibility off on Tia or Mathias. If Emma wanted to take the backseat, so be it.
Gene led the team into the team down the main street and towards the building in the near center, which seemed to be the most well kept. The Saloon. He tied his horse to the bar at the front and walked in, bow over one shoulder, and large box-like case over the other. His quivers bounced against his thighs as he walked.
The interior of the building consisted of many round tables, with 4 chairs each, spread sporadically around the room. There were patrons sitting in small groups. Along one wall was a low, long, bar, nehind which stood an elderly gentleman in a relatively suit. There was a staircase in the back heading to the second floor.
Gene approached the bar, but did not sit. He walked up and faced the elderly man, most likely the barkeep, from across the counter.
"My name is Gene Clancy. I am with Team 1 of the Calivert Hunter Guardian Corps. We are reporting as per request for a mission. I would like to speak with the Mayor of this town." Gene said in his usual monotone.
"Well, you've come to the right place. Name's Cyril. Local Barkeep and town Mayor. Good to meet ya." The man said and stuck out one hand.
Huh? Didn't see that coming... Gene thought, though his facial expression did not change.

"I agree, I may be the only one that can face it head on. But I doubt I can for very long. The two of you should harass it from the sides and behind while I try to keep it's attention occupied." Ty said. He walked up to the cave entrance. "Well, shall we get started?" He swung his massive sword down from his shoulder and with one hand slammed it against the side of the cave entrance. "Hey, monster! Come out and play!" He yelled.

Mathias followed Gene's lead and tied his horse to the bar outside the saloon. He offered both Emma and Tia a hand down from their horses with a warm smile before he followed their apparent leader into the saloon's common room. He looked around at the patrons curiously, but not unguardedly, as he kept one hand resting nonchalantly on his sword hilt. Gene seemed to be talking with the proprieter/mayor of the place, so Mathias took position behind Gene's left side to listen.

((Green team is a little quiet. I know my plan was bad, but no reason to go all quiet, lol.))

((I was waiting for Kitty to respond with Sven. Guess I'll go next, then, eh?))

"I don't know if flipping it's gonna work. The old man said it was two men tall, so this sucker's gonna be a big boy. We're gonna be forced to try cracking its shell or aiming for the openings in it. If I can build up enough heat I might be able to counter those water blasts, or even cook it in its own skin. I doubt it's gonna stand still for that, though." Matt said. He looked to Malkin. "Think you can put a dent in it with that big can opener of yours?" He said, referring to the mans big new sword.

Malkin looked up thinking. Drawing his sword from his back, he looked at it.
"Well, I could try. I built a little of my alchemy into it. I may be able to get some acid on the blade." He looked at the sword closely. For some reason, his own aura was creeping up from his hand and wrapping softly around the sword.
"Let me try something." Holding the blade vertically above his head, he gripped it tightly with both hands and swung down. The sword cleaved into the ground with ease, actually pulling Malkin up a bit.
"Ooof. God damned heavy sword." He was struggling to get it back out of the ground. Pulling it out finally, he laughed lightly.
"I'm still new to this style of combat. But hey, I just need to get one good hit on it. It should do some damage."

Fayn sighed, walking off the to cafeteria buffet tables. At least they did stock up properly on the food when it ran out...
She grabbed a tray, transferring meat, bread and many other foods onto it.
"That should be enough.." The guardian muttered, walking over to the table Bridget had occupied.
She placed the tray on the table, letting out another small sigh as she took a seat on the other side of the table.
She was a guardian...not a servant.

((Okay, did this post somehow move to the top of the page on its own accord, or did I accidentally edit one of my old posts?...))

((Yep, these posts are somehow moving to the top of the page, instead of the bottom... Weird....))

((That started happening to me yesterday in other forums. That's why I'm waiting until they resolve it. It's a Gaia glitch.))

Tia smiled as she took Mathias' hand and was safely guided off the horse. She brushed herself off as she stood firmly on the ground. She took two steps forward but managed to skillfully trip on nothing and fall to the ground.

"Oww!" Tia whined as she patted her backside and then giggled with embarrassment as she got to her feet quickly and hoped no one but Mathias noticed her fall for no reason.

Sven gave out a small cough which he covered with his hand in an attempt to get the others attention, streached his back and crossed his arms. "Ahem, I guess I never told you two what I'm fully capable of. I belive you already know that I can create ice, but I don't think I've told you that I do this from the water in the surroundings. In short I can use the fiends own weapon against it making me the perfect 'divertion' for our current plan." He tilited his head and looked up, trying to make it look as if he was giving it deeper thought. "Depending on how much water it spits I might also be able to freeze it's feet, locking it down, which should ease up the sword striking. Of course, that's just a possibility." With the last sentence he faced his eyes back at his companions and he bent a little bit forward. "And if we catch it at the river the old man mentioned then I might accually be able to freeze the whole thing!" He finnished enthusiasticly. His eyes had an eager glow in them as he awaited his compaions response to the new information he had given them.

(( Sorry, there's going to be a trip with school which had some planning and some other more personal stuff lately which had me forget about gaia for a little while, which isn't really an excuse. I'll try to not let it repeat itself, it's not very nice to you guys. I'll be gone on that school trip, but I'll have at least one new response this weekend. That is, if any of you two have answered to this by then x) ))

Bridget just smiled at Fayn when she asked what she wanted, before flouncing off to her table. "Let's see what she brings me...I'm guessing it'll be meat, bread and maybe some water. She seems like the type to not realize there's better food around."

Bridget was very pleased with herself when the food came to the table and it was exactly as she was expecting. Bridget let out a very, very, VERY large dramatic sigh as she picked up a piece of bread. She picked a small piece of the corner, not allowing any crumbs to fall which was a sign of her breeding, and very slowly placed it in her mouth with a small sigh and a melonchaly look on her face.

((Write's block for Aretha! Ah!))
Aretha took a breath to calm herself. She just needed to focus on sealing it. Aretha focused on the ink, paper and brush in her hands. "I can do this! I have to."

Malkin looked at him with surprise.
"What the hell? Am I the only one here with no element? Gah. New plan. Ice boy freezes the feet of Mister Tough Shell, Matt, you try cooking it internally, I'll deal with the water blasts. Any good?" Malkin was rather irritated by his sudden uselessness. Two elementalists could deal with this. He was just a meleer with a big sword and a twitchy aura.

((Oh god, it's painfully short.))

((No worries about post length, Kairi, or apparently Namine, now. I've always said, if you can't make a long post at least make a post. Something's better than nothing.
And, yeah, Storm. The glitch seems to be fixed, finally.))

"Alright we can try that. Anyways, let's get going. We can sit here planning forever, but eventually we're gonna have to just do it." Matt said. He began walking and stopped after only a few steps. "Wait, which way was it again?"

Gene took the mans hand a shook briefly before releasing again.
"It is my pleasure to meet you as well. Sir, could you please give us more detailed information on the target?" Gene asked.
"I'll get to that, but first you should meet the people responsible for this arrangement." Cyril said and gestured at some of the people sitting at the tables. The people came forward and stood to one side of Gene. "This is Powel, Herman, and Doreta." Cyril said. "They're the ones paying for you all to be out here killin' monsters."
Gene glanced at the three. They appeared to be farmers or ranchers. The kind of people who worked hard every day and didn't complain while doing it. They all gave a sense of authority and confidence. Gene was impressed, he felt that these were people worthy of respect, despite their lack of military rank. All three of them were built on the muscular side, and leaning towards middle age, with more than a few gray hairs showing. They all looked rough, tough, and sturdy. Their clothes were similar, heavy durable and practical. Each wore at least one weapon at their waist. A stout sword, a longer dueling sword, and a set of handaxes.
"Glad ye' finally made it." Doreta said. "We've been harassin' that thing as much as we can, but it's still managed to take a good few o' our herd. It'll be worth what we're payin' to get rid o' the damned thing."
"Maybe the three of you should give our young fighters here a more accurate description of what they're up against." Cyril pointed out.
Powel stepped forward, his hand resting on the hilt of his longer sword, and spoke in a cultured voice. "It's a serpent fiend. It is roughly 30 feet long and very heavy. We've encountered it a few times, while it was stealing from our herds. In those encounters it has proven to have a very tough hide. It is fast and strong. It's fangs drip a venom that burns into whatever it touches, but does not cause an poison in the traditional sense. It also seems to have a remarkable ability to heal from its wounds, as evidenced from one encounter to the next."
Herman stood behind the two other ranchers, his thick arms crossed over his broad chest, and simply nodded his head in agreement with what they had said.
"Well," Said Cyril. "Here's your pay. We were told you would collect it after the job was finished." He pulled a wooden box from underneath the bar and set it atop counter. He opened it for a moment, revealing the coins within, before closing it and placing it beneath the bar again.
"Thank you." Gene said. "Mathias, ladies? Do you have any questions?"

((Wow, this posts looks a little one sided, don't it.))
