"Do as you wish. It won't matter." Maovu couldn't resist him. Her only concern at this point was her student's arrival. Kahaba had a great deal to move in a short amount of time but of course he had plenty of help. Her teachings had seen to that. Au'Shinduago was the perfect place for him set up shop. Decadence, lust and deviance were rampant. Everything he needed to build his resources.

Duraz smiled "I'll return in a about twenty minutes." Duraz then ran out the shop and down the street to the cafe. He stopped a few feet from the door to get his breath back then walked inside. One of the waiters dropped what he was doing and shock with fear "Can I h-help you, sir?" Duraz smiled and lowered his head till his eyes seemed to glow under the brim of his hat "Yes, you can!"
Several minutes later the occupants of the cafe had killed each other with various kitchen utensils, one of the cooks assistants had even been beaten to death with a spatula. Duraz smiled at his work, he had left no evidence that he had been there, nor did he leave any prints. It was simple to those who understood what had happened. He made each member of the staff see each other as monsters from childhood nightmares, so they naturally defended themselves. He then went back to the shop with not a drop of blood on his hands.

A small caravan of six carriages rattled over the streets of Au Shinduago. At their head, a beautiful young man rode with a velvet doll clutched in his hand. The procession came to an abrupt halt in front of the abandoned Worg's Head Cafe. "Very nice." The man hummed to himself. He waved his hand toward the building. Carriage doors flew open and an incredible collection of creatures surged to their new home. Hands of every color tore at the old cafe's decorations. Hours of ungodly commotion passed as the swarm unpacked and dismantled the carriages. When at last the reconstruction was complete, The Worg's Head was no more. Thick purple curtains hung in the windows and sweet smelling smoke oozed from every crack. The heavy door was painted the same color as the curtains with a jeweled eye blinking at its center. That Which Lurks celebrated its grand opening.

The Valthier doll hurried back to his mistress's shop. He scratched frantically at the door with long needle claws. Maovu opened the door and let the little monster inside. "Kahaba has arrived." The doll announced. Maovu only smiled. She remembered the day she found Kahaba huddled in an alley, cowering. He didn't have to say a word. His face and scars told his story for him. It hurt Maovu to look at the young prostitute. So alone and in pain, so much like herself. Her course of action had been obvious. Maovu still chuckled when she thought the slave trader's fate. The terrible thing that had tortured Kahaba and the other slaves, reduced to nothing more than a chewed skeleton. The trader's death had been slow and Maovu was sorry that her torment had ended so easily. After that the toy maker took Kahaba and a few other children to live with her. Gradually they grew and learned to make dolls of their own but Kahaba never strayed too far from his teacher. Maovu loved him like a son. She couldn't wait to see his new shop.

Duraz sat quietly in the corner of the room, his eyes closed. He reached out beyond the borders of reality to the future, he watched as each event unfolded and saw with each death that passed another step towards his goal. His mind then shifted to the present as he began to skim the minds of the people in the city, while like this he could do as he wished, like cause mass panic or nightmares. But he prefered that each of his victims had their own individual fate.

Duraz sneezed which broke his concentration as he was looking into the mind of someone who was juggling knives in the street*. Well he's not going to be doing much juggling now. He cringed and wiped his nose "Someone must be talking about me?"
*= Usually if someone is in another persons mind and has to leave with a start, the person gets a jolt through their body.

"Duraz?" Maovu called from the main room of the toy shop. "Duraz, it's time to meet the rest of our family." The toy maker's smile stretched Seth's face well beyond it's natural capacity. The effect was terrifying but she was too pleased to notice. Maovu looked around the shop, peeking over books and around shelves. "I found him!" One of the dolls shouted from a secluded corner. "Duraz. What are you doing down there?" She asked.

Duraz raised his head "Sorry I was meditating," he stood up and adjusted his hat "So your old student has arrived," Duraz looked at Maovu "Might I say that you look wonderfull." He smiled widely and picked up the coat he had found, in a bin, earlier.

Maovu giggled shyly. "Thank you. I always wanted Kahaba to have a father but he grew up before I could find anyone." Her face fell slightly. "If we had met earlier..." Maovu shook herself. "Nevermind that. Let's go." She said. The two of them set off for the newly renovated cafe. When they arrived, the usual customers were no where to found. The former Worg's Head was now frequented by much seedier crowd than before. Maovu appreciated the new decorations. Everything in the room was dark and lavish, a great improvement from the drab dining hall it was before. She looked around for some sign of her adopted son.

Duraz looked at the new decorations, it seemed as if he had taken a wrong turn and found somewhere new. He could barely recognize the place, but then again who would want to? "I wonder if they still have coffee?"

"Of course. I have anything you could want." Replied a soft voice. "It's been too long, Maovu." The speaker was a blank faced drowess sitting next to filthy looking human. "I'm up the stairs, at the end of the hall. I want to meet this lover of yours personally." She said. Kahaba sat in his quarters patiently waiting to meet them. Maovu allowed her dolls the freedom to scream and voice their pain. He was not so kind. Kahaba's dolls only spoke when he made them. They were silent unless a customer requested otherwise. Self expression was a privilege his merchandise didn't deserve.

-A piercing cry rose above the dim of day to day life on the streets of Au Shinduago, the voice it belonged to was suddenly cut off and the scream ended in a gurgle as another life was snuffed out. This was the home of Val'atar Druu'giir and it was exactly how he preferred it.
Striding away from the smoldering corpse, Val'atar dusted his hands off and paused to listen with his mind. A thin piercing call from a distant source beckoned only to him and so he strode onwards, cutting a swath through the streets as noble and peasant alike moved to avoid his path. Those unfortunate or foolish enough to block his way were dealt with harshly.. scoured from existence with fire, acid or a strange crackling black energy that seemed to suck the life from them until they were little more than dried flesh and brittle bones.. easily crumbled beneath his feet as he continued onwards-

Maovu squealed with glee and thundered up the stairs to Kahaba's room. She burst the through the door and immediately zeroed in on her dear student. Maovu scooped Kahaba into a rib crushing hug. "I missed you so much!" She began to sob. It had been so hard seeing him go the first time. Kahaba was a man but in Maovu's eyes, he was still that trembling child. Once she had pulled herself together she gave him some room to breathe. "Kahaba, this is Duraz. My... My lover." Maovu said the words carefully. She was using them together for the first time. It fell strange but nice to know that someone felt that way about her. Maovu smiled at Kahaba pleading for him to share her warm feelings for Duraz.

Duraz smiled and looked at Kahaba with his orange eyes. "Nice to meet you, I like what you've done with this old place. Blood stains are so hard to clean." Duraz removed his hat and coat and placed them neatly to the side.
