Whoa, chaos. o.o.
I totally agree with you guys about the whole shipwar/wank-theatre thing. I mean, we complain to each other about fandom, but we don't bash, and we don't rant without being provoked! And, I'm sorry, but it is not insulting for someone to think their ship has a chance at canon! Seriously. If they get that worked up over us having faith in an 'impossible' pairing, than they seriously need some self-esteem help. stressed
And I can't believe she'd make an analogy like that! Seriously It's one thing to say something is stupid and hopeless and blind, but making a comparison like that is just... GUH! D<
Taang has plenty of evidence! I mean, someone wrote an essay-type thing on taang, explaining all the symbolism behind it and how it related to the shows plot and it made tons of sense. I don't remember the details of it, but someone posted it in one of the threads on the Taang guild.
Also, couldn't the same be said about them with Maiko? 'Cause most of them don't seem very fond of Zuko. xD I know, I know, I'm being a hypocrit.
Uggh. I want the Zutara ending so bad, too. I think I would scream with joy if it happened, and for several reasons. I can't imagine what Spootay would do in response - jump ship and deny ever hating on Zutara? Curse Bryke and call them horrible story writers? Curl into a ball and cry? Pretend it was a joke?
I pray we find out one day. =D
And, really, I don't care who started the shipwars; we need to stop it. It's pointless and annoying.
So, are you guys gonna try sicking to the oaths until the end? Or do you think we shoudl start up the debating again? Personally, I'm staying with the peaceful approach. xP Or at least attempting to.

HOWEVER, if you read some of the comments she makes about her own post, they get VERY contradictory. personally i think she is very worried. she seems to try to appease zutarians by saying she'll take down the "mean" stuff, but still instigates it with members of her own community. i'm sorry, but i don't believe her when she says she is being sincere and won't bash zutarians again. did you see her "meanest piece of wank ever" thing.. even if you haven't, the title in and of itself is telling of her true nature. i think she is trying to play both ends against the middle, and i see right through that facade. i have not broken the oath. i think the peaceful way is the best way. let them have egg on their face and tarnish their own names, its not worth it anymore. the closest i came to breaking it was telling someone that it was rude to post artwork on DA with a title that gives away the spoilers. i suggested they edit it, which they ignored me, but hey, i tried.

I've remained pretty quiet, and have attempted to not pick a fight. Though I cannot say that for that Kataang team [I'm a Zutarian with a baseball bat *loves baseball*, *old lady voice* 'ey you Kataangers, get off my lawn!' rofl ] Just for kicks, I found this icon, and it makes me smile alot. XD I also edited the colors, so there are two others. 3nodding    I swear, when Ember Island Players comes out, I'm taking that screencap and editing it to look like this. ESPECIALLY if Zutara becomes canon. 3nodding blaugh twisted

Agreed with everything there, Rachaella. (and sorry I neglected the spoiler warning for my rant-post! redface )
The only time we ever lash out is when we've been provoked by people like Spoots or her little followers who see her and think, hey, she does it, why not us? They go into ZUTARIAN artworks and post random....just totally unprovoked stuff about how "there's more to that moment than just ship-baiting for you Zutarians" ...I got such a comment on my "Catch you when You Fall" piece...They go into Zutarian Journals and try to tell us we're wrong or that we're being babies or whatever and grasping at straws...
And usually their comments like this ARE so rude and bottom-line, hateful, that yes, back before the oath, we responded in our defense.
And also, that thing about Ship-baiting. That is what Spooty has been ranting about for a while...About how everything we find as evidence in the show is nothing more than Bryke dragging us along into the finale...Like laying out a faulty trail of breadcrumbs or something. And she's like, 'Aww, I feel so bad for the Zutarians, they fell for it, they've been falling for it the WHOLE TIME. Bryke were mean to do that, but it's their own fault...'
I mean, what on Earth? Is that what Mike and Bryan are to them? Just sadists who favor them, but lead all of us on with little bits and pieces and GLARING similarities between Zuko and Katara?
So what is all of that, just fanservice? Along the line of Bryke SAYING they don't do fanservice...They'd kind of lose their integrity as storytellers if they just used those moments, all the focus and all the moments we saw in the trailer...They'd lose their integrity if all of that was just to string us along and keep us until the finale.
I refuse to believe that they're that much of sadists and they'd sacrifice their own story just to string us along. At least not at this point.
I know what she'd do if Zutara won out. She's SAID that if Zutara happened, she'd see it as out of nowhere and she wouldn't be able to see it, no matter how well it was pulled off. Well, well, well....Welcome, Spoots, to OUR perspective on KATAANG! Population: MOST of the Avatar fandom.
She'd probably write Avatar off as "just another show where the girl is stolen from the hero by the sexy angsty anti-hero."
And she even predicts that if Zutara DOES happen, we will only proceed to b***h about how Bryke pulled it off, or how they did it wrong or whatever.
Augh, I've been infiltrating Wanksterpiece way too much! XD
I don't know about you guys, but if Zutara happened in the show the only thing I'd be complaining about was if it were turned into some sort of RAEP situation. Which, YEAH. Will not happen.

And I'm still getting sick of them blasting their mouths about how Zutara is all for the Smex! Just cause we have better PR0n...It's like what, we want Zuko and Katara in a MEANINGFUL relationship, with plenty of love and fluff? NO WAI!!!!! It's so irritating...
I'm not breaking the oath. It's not worth it anymore to even try talking to them. Let the show do our talking FOR us. That's the only way they'll even consider listening. Remember Rach, how we were ranting to Spoots that Zutara was not all about the smex? Well, they're still blasting their mouths about it, like I mentioned above.

It's kinda funny when you think about it, though. She always says 'No offense!' or 'I'll get rid of all the mean stuff!', than turns around and say meaner and more offending things. Okay, maybe not so much funny as strange and confusing. Seriously. I don't get why she feels the need to do any of the things she does, or why anyone else feels the need to do similar things. I mean, doesn't it make more sense to try and avoid conflict and wank and anger, and just focus on the stuff you love? Though, maybe she loves making us mad. xP
Glad you're still sticking to the oath. ^.^ We can ignore their whining and bashing together, drowning it out with the awesome that is peace, love, and Zutara. <3

Yeah, I highly doubt Bryke would do something like that. The moments have meaning to the plot and development of the show and characters, no matter what the pairing outcome is of the show. Seriously. If they think Bryke is cheap enough to do things like that, than they severely underestimate them. Heh. And we're the ones disrespecting them? :/ Odd.
xD Hehe. If she actually says something like that, I'll probably just giggle a little and carry on with my life (while doing a victory dance with my fellow Zutarians. Conga Line!)
And, yeah, I wouldn't complain about Zutara. Unless it goes with the RAEP thing or is completely random and thoughtlessly thrown in. But I doubt that would ever happen, because Bryke puts time and thought into every aspect of the show. :3

The Debate of the Century? How could I forget. Dx They think Zutara is all about Hate!sex and capture fics, when those are both just small parts of the fandom. We have lots of subsections and diversity within our fandom, and that's part of the reason I love it. Our fanworks have fluff and angst and humour and gore and adultstuff and whatever someone could possibly want. But, of course, a lot of them chose to ignore this, and bash us for only caring about the physical relationship and being canon supporters.

Random-Gal930 OMG A:TLA BACK-TO-BACK SEASON 3 EPISODES IN JUNE EVERYDAY FOR A WEEK IN THE PHILIPPINES! *dies* Don't rub it in Ran, they haven't played much of Book 3, they keep repeating Books 1 and 2. I mean, they showed The Avatar and the Fire Lord a few weeks ago. But after that? They went on the damn hiatus again. I actually heard a rumor in the main Avatar guild I'm in [the people are sort of loofy, so I don't really go in too much, you know post here, post there. *shrug*] Anyway, one of the members opened a topic that said Avatar had a screw up in animating on the Korean side of things, for starters I had no idea it was animated there! eek Secondly, it was something about having to censor something that was too graphic, at least from Nick's perspective. Spoilers with white text and a few lines inbetween. My money is on when either Aang spirit bends Ozai, if that happens in the episode, or when Katara has to blood bend Zuko's heart to get him back amongst the living again. His body might convulse violently in response to the bending, as it must be a hard strain. But I hope after that, they cuddle. X3 Most likely the latter.
