Marco nodded, not one for hesitation, and began to help Joe along. He nodded to Fyrin and began to make his way to the medical bay. Joe leaned heavily on Marco, his breathing labored.

Fyrin followed, leaving his skeletons behind to help against the zombies.
They reached the corner and realized they still had to figure out a way around the barricade. A wall blocked them off from the path they'd come down, emerging from the ceiling. Nowhere to go but forward.

Marco looked to Fyrin with concern. "We need to get past that barricade. Got anything? I think we can try to sneak past."

(( NativeForeigner Jacob searched along the walls and floors for any alternative to going straight through the room which would inevitably end badly. ))

((Joe's faaaault!))
Jacob found nothing of interest but, oh joy of joys, vents, with similar defenses to those he'd seen before.

Oh joy!
Too bad Jacob didn't feel like getting torn to shreds.
He peered into the next room to check out what the vampires were doing.

Two vampires stood at attention halfway through the hallway. One was massaging his ears with an irritated look on his face. Jacob was beginning to feel strain on his Chameleonic.

"Can you Chameleonic?" Fyrin inquired, then stopped. "I could distract them and you could sneak through... I'm sure I could get myself clear, I've still got charge left in my shield.
---
Paul kept firing at things that need firing at, especially Takeshi, and Darius kept attempting to detonate Gertrude. He was now making attempts to cause her own flesh to detonate, but it hadn't worked so far. Didn't matter, it was worth a shot.

"I can't cloak," Marco said. "You'd have to give them one hell of a distraction for us to sneak through."

Takeshi dropped his previous shields and threw up another Thaumaturgically readied one.
Darius' attempts to detonate Gertrude were ineffective, predictably; her ability to hear him gathering mana in advance gave her an edge again him. She nimbly dodged along walls, floor, and ceiling, always a step ahead, but on the defensive.

Darius generally did that to people, including in personal relationships.
He decided to keep doing it.
Paul held up on the firing - the shield seemed to be taking the rounds. It was time to redo the trick, but of course he couldn't do it the same...
Four Pauls appeared again, none firing except where necessary. They seemed to be planning something, and were keeping clear of the zombies.
---
Fyrin shrugged. "I'm good at distractions," he offered, thinking back to the vampire building. "Do you want me to try or do you want to try and just blaze through?"

"How about you try to distract them and we try to get through, and failing that, I'll call you over the mana line and we'll blast our way through." Marco already began to slide towards the darker areas of the hall.

Paul began to feel a strain on his mana reserves; he'd only prepared three of that spell in advance, meaning he had one remaining, and the high mana cost of that spell meant even making up the small lost portion presented a significant cost.
Takeshi had several of his zombies return to him to form a living (or rather, dead) wall. He sent out a mana ping to feel for Paul's general location, if he was in a Chameleonic again.

"Okay," Fyrin told him, moved forward, and hit the barrier with several detonations.
---
Takeshi felt...
...on the ceiling? Paul had a grappling hook driven in and was sitting up on the ceiling, temporarily Chameleonicked. When the mana pulse hit him, he grunted in surprise and immediately opened fire, hoping to use his higher angle to get over the zombies and plant rounds in Takeshi's upper body.
Darius wondered if he could eat Gertrude, or if that would even be a good idea. He also wondered if either one of them would ever actually, y'know, die. Probably not, honestly.

Marco waited while Fyrin attacked, then began to edge along the flank, staying low and in the shadows.
