No one, and by this I mean the vast majority of the US populace, cares about what Martin Luther King Day is actually about... they only care that they don't have to go to school and don't have to go to work.

But I think it's an awesome way to celebrate how one man can make a big difference and lead the country away from the tendencies of segregation that so many of us fall into, though we still are somewhat racist as least everyone gets similar opportunities

I dont think most people understand that the United States is one of the least racist nations in the world now-a-days. . .

Most people have heard that speech parodied in cartoons more often than they have actually heard any part of it.

MLKjr Day is about the man who had the guts to stand up for what was right. He had the will to lead the population in to believing in what was good instead of what was common. And then was assassinated for it. But because of his honor, his drive, and his world, the US put aside the racism that had been present since the begining of our nation.
