 Darius moved between Gertrude and Joe. He was big enough and fast enough by far to prevent her from getting at him. ((Precaution there.))

Darius calmly repeated the process, including the detonations. She had to be taking more damage than she was giving with the repeat assault, and the longer she did it the faster Darius got at re-detonating. He kept his eye out for Joe, but sidestepped a little so that Joe could shoot and distract a little but Darius could still stop Gertrude if need be.

Joe took the prudent opportunity that Darius offered, analyzing the situation and realizing that Darius was setting him up to help. He again began to fire at the immobile Gertrude, although this time his angle for fire was a lot more shallow, and so he should have no trouble hitting her head.
Joe was still pulling himself back, towards Fyrin.

((Twas not an autohit. The previous action stated that the sword was moving for Joe, and, based on the fact that there was no post to cover Joe's pitiful little a**, I assumed that he was there to receive the swing.
