((Joe, I'm not taking his side, I'm objectively stating that you're assuming knowledge of details that were never explicitly stated, and if they're neither implied nor spoken of outright, they can't be assumed to exist. This is like the problem in AWoP where you send me into a room without giving any details, only here, there's just enough that other players are trying to fill in details in a reasonable manner without knowing what you actually meant.
The whole platform didn't explode; if the bolts changed the entirety of whatever they'd hit, they'd have been leveling whole buildings in the arc where they first appeared; they clearly don't act like that. But, it did take out most of the platform, leaving Joe on the remnants of the platform, just above ground level.))
The back of Marco's arm was sheared away by the destructive field around the blade.
((... Dude, that was all kinds of terrible idea. The field around the blade is basically just an extension of the shield; ignoring that, it's still a Phase Sword. We won't count that as Marco's free save from death because he's probably going to really need it in a bit, but... really, man? "It's a Phase Sword surrounded by a barrier that annihilates physical or magical efforts brought against it? I'll hit it with my arm!"))

((I was using "Word of Destruction", not "Unreality Bolts", Venom. I posted that the base of the platform turned that way since I didn't know the scope of "object", nor what an REF is or what its effect might be on the spell. So what really happened, now with the clarification?))

((Ah, right. Not unreality bolts, by the way - bolts are just one way of transferring the effect, but WoD is, if I recall correctly (4:30 AM, too tired to find and check notes) the one that targets a spot or object instead of hitting whatever is in its path?
Well, the basic thing is, none of the Sage spells are very wide-area, for both in-game and out-of-game reasons of balance and stability. Word of Destruction would basically turn a fairly narrow area into the 'splodey-stone.
However, instead of penetrating like a bolt, or "splattering" and turning a wide chunk of what it hits into it like a ball/blast, it would change a semi-random chunk into it.
The WoD would, thus, have taken out the a good fourth of the pillar-platform circumference-wise (with around a half-foot of height) and basically collapsed it with the shocks of the explosion. A bit of the top and bottom would be intact; everything else, regardless of any REF, would be broken by the shockwaves sent through by the explosion.))

((What are you talking about? I'm not used to having to explain my s**t every time I do it, because I explain it once, then you and Bayer know about how it works and why. Thus, I don't need to explain it any more. It's a hard habit to break. And WHAT?! Marco's arm wasn't ever in the path of the attack! He's trying to block with his claws. Even if the sword cuts through them, it won't make contact with any part of his body. I totally explained that in my post.))

(( Jokerman-EXE Uncertain of how his demonic defenses and weaponry would hold up to Annihilation, Marco swung his arm into the path of the sword, aiming to block, deflect, or at least slow the blade with his claws. At the same time, he turned his body at a sufficient angle to have him at least out of the way of the blade, and able to jump away from a possible backhand swing. Sorry, Joe, but I thought the same thing when I read your post, why would you do that?)) Jacob continued his search, heading deeper into the tower, still cloaked.

((*Points to NF's post*
But yeah, the size of a bolt you're blasting is generally a good thing to include at all times if you can alter its power.))
Jacob found a room full of vampires and there didn't appear to be any alternative to going through it. He thought about the map they'd seen at the base...
He could remember about this much.

Can we read the whole thing, perhaps? And still, no one has addressed Marco's attempts at slowing Sam. I mean, I explained the whole process and gave plausible reasoning for it, so there can't possibly be anything to complain about.))

((I wanna pose a question.
How do we fight Sam?
We most certainly can't block, and if we can't block then we can't hold a position long enough to slow him down, at all. There's no moving injured comrades to safety, which means retreating kills Joe, and I can't do that.
So how do we do this?))

((Joe, claws are on arms. At least, usually. *Shrugs* I'm just reacting to what I read, man.))
((Bayer: You can burn out his shield faster than he can bring it back up by unloading shittons of superhighpower thaumaturgy, use Phase weapons, or find ways of impairing his ability to speak, among other things.))

((Since when are claws attached to arms and not the very ends of fingers? 0.o
Also, what happened to Fyrin dragging Joe out?))
Paul((, whose position was a little unclear,)) moved behind Samuel and opened up with Athena, preparing to dump assault magic from his iPod into the shield. He made sure not to get overly focused on Samuel, but kept checking about him for friends or foes, all the while firing single rounds into Samuel's shield. Chest, head, limbs, it really didn't matter, just so long as he was firing.
Darius, meanwhile, was still all balled up and had decided that he should attack Gertrude. This came from the fact that, though barely, they seemed to have Samuel handled. That and Darius didn't care to muck about with the Sage-magics just yet. Instead he rolled for her, exploding in various locations. When he drew near he un-balled, throwing himself in a broad-armed tackle in a very decent attempt to crush her to death. Darius did weigh quite a bit. His four eyes were divided, two on his face and one on each of the back quadrants of his shoulders, providing him with a 360-degree awareness field.
He considered the fact that a little extra mana would probably be useful, if only there was somewhere to get some from. But no, they were surrounded. That was okay, he'd find some way to do it some time.

((Hey man, just responding to what I read and you wrote that you put his arm in the way, so... yeah.
Besides, the claws would be passed right through by the Phase Sword at best, so... yeah.
Fyrin wasn't close enough to wade through the zombie/skeleton melee yet. <_<; So, yeah.))
Gertrude grabbed a chunk of Darius - she didn't seem to care much where - and locked her jaws down on him.
Takeshi responded to Paul by firing at the Athena, hoping to damage it.
