That's no problem. Out of all the planar mages I know of, the character called Ertai Vexic is the weakest. First off, he uses planar psionics, which IMO isn't even real planar magic. Second off, his focus on mechanics makes him inefficient - he burns far more energy than anyone else with his attacks, and a lot of it is wasted on irrelevant things. For example, while he might create a small plane made entirely of electrons and pull it to the main plane of Gaia to detonate it while at the same time safeguarding the real world, Gelmax would simply pack together some power in his pocket dimension and merge or pull it into this one to set it off, and the cleanup is very easy anyway. No need to waste effort and time creating an entire plane just for one explosion.

For that reason alone, Gelmax can counter almost everything Ertai does, and in a power war or battle of negation, Gel would win for the same reason. His level of power is similar to Ertai's, but his energy USAGE is about 1/4 to 1/2 of Ertai's. Normally that's countered by a speed cap which means Gel can't do much in a single post, but since Ertai doesn't believe in balance I'm free to take off the limiters against him - even have a story reason for it if needed.

In other words, Gel's been the ideal anti-Ertai character since before Ertai came here, that's why I'm always bitching Ertai out.

I'd just stab him.

And while he is focusing on that I'd stab him with my other sword.

Problem is that Ertai is somehow a god and would foresee your attack a thousand years before you doing it and counter it. Then he would get into a staring contest with Vahn and hold that pose for ten millenia just to prove a point.

Nevar herd o' eet.

Ertai certainly didn't see it coming when I pulled out guns on him.
