It kind of reminds us that we do not own the earth, but mearly reside on it. It is horrible, what has happened, and it is not over yet. cry

It's one thing to see people fighting in Libya. Japan's situation came out of nowhere which is still pretty scary.
I hope we don't have another nuclear meltdown like Russia did with Chernobyl. That place is still feeling the effects of the radiation.

It is pretty scary. And if there is a meltdown, a chernobyl style plume will reach the US. I think there is a high likelihood of this happening....enough so I am contacting my doctor for some potassium iodine which can protect. But only if it is taken in advance.
Japan will eventually recover from this, but it may take decades. I feel for them. What a nightmare.

I just heard that there was also a volcano erupting there now? It's just crazy! Almost seem like an apocalypse of some sort.

Just got done reading updates. No mention of any volcano erupting in Japan. There are actively erupting volcanos other places on earth as always.
This isn't armegeddon, but there was a really interesting artical on yahoo about how the quake changed the earth.

I heard the lamest news. The earthquake was apparently also felt here: The earth shook up and down 4 millimeters. I mean, seriously, who the hell cares?!

Well....it shows the quake was felt the world over, I guess all quakes that size are. What I read yesterday is the earth's axis shifted 12 cm, Japan sunk 2 feet, a rift over a mile opened at the site of the quake in the ocean, and Japan is now 2 feet closer to North America. Oh and our day is now shorter by a few miliseconds. In short, the whole earth changed.
