I lied this is the last part of the story... sweatdrop Part 9 of 9
"We did it!" Mike screamed as he jumped up and down. Shiver bounced around, happy that his master won a battle.
As he recalled his Pokemon, tears started swelling up in the youngster's eyes. He dropped to his knees and started to sob.
Mike, not completly wrapped up in his victory dance, noticed this and ran over to the boy and helped him up.
"What's wrong?" he asked, even though he already knew the answer.
"I-didn't-win!" cried the boy as he sobbed, each word was followed by a gasp for air.
"Aw, don't worry..." Mike paused, remembering he never asked for the kid's name.
"Joey, my names Joey." He said, his tears starting to become less frequent.
"...Joey, you win some, you lose some. You can't feel sorry for yourself because you lost a simple battle." Said Mike, a calm brotherly tone was in his voice.
"I guess..." said Joey, thinking about what Mike had just said.
"Look, the path to greatness has many hardships, and always starts out rocky, but if you perservere and push on through, you will find a smooth path to victory one day." Smiled Mike, standing up and looking at the sky.
"Wow, you're right." Joey rose, looking at Mike, his tears all dried up.
As Mike walked off, he heard the boy talking to his Ekans, he smiled as he continued down the path.
