As the two continued on their way, the lights of Mauville were slightly in sight, however, they were soon blocked from view by the heavy sands that whipped about them, kicked up by the growing winds that swirled, creating miniature sand tornadoes that slipped across the desert surface, skimming the sands as they kicked up even more blinding gravel.
Chloe recalled Aki to his Pokeball, the Jolteon clearly not enjoying the weather, as she trudged onward through the sands of the desert. "Lovely weather!" she commented to Brayden over the dulled roar of the storm.

"Oh yes," Brayden laughed, instantly regretting the motion as he coughed up a lungful of sand. Covering his mouth with his sleeve for a moment, he tried to qwell his heaving shoulders as he gasped for a moment, trying to clear his lungs. He followed Chloe's lead in recalling Gin'iro, not wanting to put the Vulpix through the ordeal. He was probably already loathing Brayden for allowing so much sand to get in his fur.
A particularly strong gust of wind decided to make an appearance, lifting Brayden from his feet for a brief moment, before setting him back down with enough force to cause him to stumble mid-stride. "The wind's nothing to shake a stick at either," he muttered, peering into the clouds of shifting sand, trying to get a bearing on their location.

As the gust hit Chloe, she stumbled, earning another mouthful of sand as she cried out in surprise. She followed a different course than Brayden, but somehow managed to land relatively safely.
"That's it!" she yelled, pulling out a Pokeball, "Come on out, Kaze!" she called the Charizard.
The fire lizard appeared from his Pokeball, as Chloe latched onto his leg. "Think you can take us out of here?" she called up to him. Kaze nodded, as Chloe climbed up onto his back to prevent her from blowing away again. The Charizard, strode forward a few paces, fighting against the wind as he scooped up Brayden by his vest's collar, flapping to get airborne.
