There's no proof that he loved Aeris >_> he liked her a lot as a friend just as he did Tifa. What Mirei-Kai is refering to is in the movie o_O;; what about those who haven't seen it yet~?

Anywho~ He's really torn up about Aeris BECAUSE he blames himself. He believes he could have done more, and he feels the same way about Zack. but are we saying he likes Zack? Nope >_> So that doesn't prove much either.

Could've gone either way, if Tifa ever just came out and said "I love you, Cloud" I think they could make it. Fact of the matter is she didn't but he never said he liked Aeris either AND i think Tifa did like Cloud as a child. She made a promise with him did she not? There were lots of lil' boys in the village she could've have asked to be her hero but she chose Cloud to come rescue her when she needed him. *nods* the attraction was most definately mutual.

I just heard this somewheres... not sure if it's true but someone tolled me that in Kingdom Hearts the reason Cloud left and was with Hades and everything was because he was looking for Tifa >_> like i said i'm not sure that's just what i heard.

Anyway, even if it isn't true, I still say Tifa is the better match. Beat Sephiroth in KH2 you'll seeee~~

SPOILER for Advent Children ( highlight to read )

In Advent Children i think Cloud was only so hung up on Aeris because he felt guilty about her death. It doesn't mean he was in love with her... heck Yuffie or Barret could've died and he'd probably blame himself as well. He feels he could have done more instead he just let her die... You also see him thinking about Zack from time to time. Same thing. Tifa, however, is alive... she sticks with him through out the game and in the movie too. If it weren't for her, Cloud would have never been able to face his demons o.O in the end he realizes Aeris and Zack ( who i think make a better match << ) don't blame him for anything and niether does anyone else. He's not alone anymore >> still no garentee that he will ultimately chose Tifa in the end but i think there is a good chance of it.

If you've played the game then watched the movie you will understand everything, but for those of you who haven't... I shall explain!

In the game, everyone knows that Cloud and Tifa have been friends since they were kids. And everyone knows that when she found out about the soldiers coming to Nibelheim she got all happy, thinking Cloud would be there and she would finally get to see him after being seperated for so long! Well, he was there but she didn't know it, because he wasn't in Soldier. But he was there, he was just ashamed to show his face to Tifa because he didn't make the position he wanted and thought that Tifa would laugh and make fun of him because he was too weak to be a first class Soldier. Well... Five years later, they meet up, again (The game). In the game, as everyone knows, he denies his real memories and gets mixed up with the ones that Zack has. For those who don't know, Mako screws with your head and will mess with your memory and that's basicly what happens to Cloud. Well, Tifa has kinda liked Cloud. You can tell by the way she acts around him. After they blow up the second reactor, he ends up falling... right on top of Aeris. Whom he has already meet once. Cloud, being the attractive man he is, thinks Aeris is kinda cute, and she thinks he's kinda cute. So he promises her a date. They get to know each other over the course of the game, and he eventually comes to care for her but never LOVE her. Now don't forget, this whole time Tifa is there and watches this 'thing' grow between them, so she kinda stands back and watches. Now... when Aeris leaves the gang, notice Cloud tries to stop her, that's where his feelings for her really come out. He CARES about her a lot, not LOVES her, and he doesn't want her to get hurt. When she dies, if you have Tifa on your team, notice Tifa walks over to her, runs her hand down the side of Aeris' face, then runs off in tears. Yes she is sad because she died, but if you think about she also kinda saw what she and Cloud had going on. Soooooo... By the end of the game, notice in the ending video Cloud saves Tifa, yet again, Tifa also puts her head up against Cloud. They also seem to be closer by the end of the game.

Now... in the movie, Cloud is kind of detacted from everyone because he thinks his burdens will rub off onto everyone else. For those who have seen the movie, notice Tifa starts yelling at him about being by himself and not letting anyone in. And Cloud also, kinda, lives with her. The room that she walks into in the beginning of the movie is his room, or what would be his room. But Cloud also kinda lives in the church, that's where Aeris comes into the movie. Now Aeris, basicly, tells him to get over her death. There was nothing he could do to stop it, and she says... 'I never blamed you, not even once. You came for me, that's all that matters.'
Okay... by the end of the movie Tifa gives Cloud a very meaningful look! And every girl knows exactly what that look is! That's an I love you kind of look.

So in my opinion, Cloud LIKED Aeris, but he kinda loved Tifa. *Pant* Okay... I'm out of breath now... *Pant* xd I hope that sums something up for some people...
