Name: Physical: Joanna Hendrdicks, Magickal: Phaedra Metsa (background on this further down.)
Path: Wicca (for all of eight months)
Likes: Reading, swimming, rain, outdoors, proper spelling and grammer even though I suck at it, all water, small spaces, some hights as long as I'm not standing on a crumbling cliff, mentors as long as they aren't too bossy, sitting in the trees or by a brooke when a bird comes to sit on me (this has actually happend and it was SO cool! biggrin ), moonlight streaming through a window or onto my face, freah air, 90 degree weather, writing, Fantasy reading, archery, (more to come as I think of it.)
Dislikes: My bad spelling, people that think they can diss a good writer just because he/she isn't there to defend themselves, the fact that most people hate me for no good reason (not an exageration.), emnotional pain, biggtary, (more to come as I tihnk of it).
Details: I'm 14 and just started learning Wicca about eight months ago. I would like to learn as much as I can but I have to keep everything secret from my parents who are strong christians. I would love to have a mentor in Colorado (where I live) who I could actually meet with, I learn things better that way. Oh, and my other account got banned for something I didn't do, Arya Elda was the name, and I'm trying to fix it.
About my magick name: I bought a book of names that would be good for that purpose and I really liked Phaedra and Metsa so I decided to use Phaedra as a kind of first name and Metsa as a kind of last name. Phaedra is greek, she was a goddess, I don't like her background much, but I didn't decide that. (She did it with her son and then told her husband that her son molested her, her son got hung or excuted. In some versions she kills herself and in others she lives.) and Metsa is Finnish and means forest, I've always liked the woods and trees so I thought it would be approite. It took me almost three weeks to decide on it.
I think that's all. I know it's a lot to read but that's not even the half of it. If you want to chat or be my mentor please pm me as I won't be checking this or anything else very often because of my parents. Or you could e-mail me at arya.elda@yahoo.com

Good Evening to you all!I request to be called Lys (which IS actually a part of my real name) here. I noticed some of you have what elements you are listed, so I will say what I think I recall mine to be, based on my knowledge (however minor it may be) of my zodiacs. I am a Taurus, which is earth, yet born in the year of the Horse, which is fire. I am turning 17 on the 10th of May. I have never before really looked much into wicca, although I do have a couple friends who have or plan to study it, which is where my curiosity came about. I often have a hard time putting my actual ideas into sensible words, but nevertheless, I shall try when I feel I should. Sometimes I can get carried away by stupid ideas, or just start rambling on without much reason. In case I might annoy or upset anyone, I apologize ahead of time. Making people mad at me is not something I would intend to do (unless I'm in a random chat site on yahoo or something and feel like being stupid). I would say that I am a nice person, for the most part, but sometimes can be a little on the mean or rude side, but that would moreso include just being stupid with friends. I have a tendancy to try to hold my tongue, but I probably wont if I feel a comment was somewhat of an insult. I try to stay cheerful, although sometimes, I admit, I can become quite depressed, so please bear with me. I tend to look down on myself, but am trying to see things in a more positive light, although I mostly have a negative outlook on pretty much everything still. I hope to meet new friends here, and I will try to come and post whenever I can. 4laugh

Welcome, Joanna. ^_^ It's nice to see another person who has a conscience about proper spelling and grammar. A sign of respect is when people start to mock/diss them, but you can still get annoyed about it. xp Hope your other account gets recovered soon. smile
Welcome, Black! ^_^ I know I've seen you about in the Courtyard before, but welcome all the same.
Good morning to you too, Lys. xd (Damn those time zones...) Hi-5 for Tauruses! I also ramble/burble along about nothing, so please feel free to do so here. smile Welcome to our guild - hope you enjoy yourself here. ^^

 Name: Lisa Mitchell(real) or LunarSilverFox(magick)
Path: Wicca, since November 2006
Basic Info: I'm 16 years old, turning 17 in June. I'm a Junior in High School and getting ready to move to Florida, USA this summer. I have dark red hair with black highlights and my eyes are a hazel/green color(though they oddly can turn gold at sometimes). I can be a very sensitive and emotional person, but that mostly only happens when somethings triggers it, most of the time it being emotional pain. I started learning about Wicca about six months ago when a girl at my school mentioned she was Wiccan. Since I can be a very curious person, I did a little research on it and the more I did, the more I liked it. When I saw that Wicca was strongly based in nature, I was sold. I love nature and more than anything wanted a religion that could help me strengthen that connection.
Likes: Reading, writing, music, nature, flowers, water, moonlight coming through the window, the moon, divination, astrology, mythology, foxes, meditation, and daydreaming. I'll add more if I think of any.
Dislikes: Poor grammar and spelling, those who say Wiccans worship Satan, those who diss someone's writing who worked hard on it, fake friends who say something but do the opposite, someone who gets mad at you for being depressed when you can't help it(my ex-friend does this), and not being given personal space. I'll add more when I think of them.
How I choose my magick name: Ever since I was born, I've always felt connected to the moon and the sky. When I was choosing my magick name, I wanted something that I felt connected to. So the Lunar part of my name comes from my connection to the moon. Foxes have been and always will be my favorite animal. I have a memory that is kind of blurry, but from what I can remember, its true. I was at my Grandmother's house one time(she lived in the county) when I saw a fox not too far away from me. After that day, my love for foxes began to grow to where I feel as connected with them as I do the moon. That is where the Fox part of my name came from. For the Silver part of my name, thats a little harder to explain. I have dreams where I truly believe that they are visions of the past. Such as one I was dreaming about a few foxes running away from hunters and I was one of them, a fox with a silver coat. It took me a little while to decided on the name, but now that I've decided, I love it.

I'm Fu.
I did have a typical craft name, but that was while I was 'Wiccan' years ago, and has been forgotten until now. Fu fits me as a generic oriental-sounding name with many meanings. Though the 'Cat' part in my old name gives a scarily good hint of my manner and personality.
I'm a ridiculously eclectic pagan, with hints of general trad craft, Wicca, Shinto, Chaos, Satanism... I just call myself a witch. I've been working with crystals for years - blamed fully on a love of all things shiny. I'm a quite the anti-empath - you'd have to be really gifted or a very good friend (or both?) to figure out what's going on in my head. My element is ice - I'm still trying to figure out how exactly that relates to the traditional elements, and why I get to sound like a bloody RPG character.
I hope that rejecting Wicca as a whole isn't too much of an issue, but this seemed a really friendly place. I'll probably play the devil's advocate in discussions to provide an alternate view.

Welcome Ryan! You've come to the right place to learn about Wicca! Please don't hesitate to ask any of use for help if you need it or if you just have any general questions. That's what we're here for. Also, happy early birthday! I hope you have a wonderful day!
Thank you for joining our little family, Phoenyx! I'm also a fire/water elementalist. I don't recall seeing too many people who are leaning more towards Shamanism, so if you wouldn't mind, would you maybe create a thread telling us a little bit about it sometime?
It's great to have you here, Lisa! I think it's awesome that you're moving to Florida! I, myself, live in Florida. Would you mind telling me which part you're moving to?
We're extremely happy that you joined us, Fu! There is absolutely nothing wrong with being ridiculously eclectic. There's actually quite a lot of use here who are also eclectic. It's all about what makes you happy! I also think it's great that you're interested in crystals. I love them... they're so beautiful. (I also have a gemstone guidebook in The Library here, please check it out soon). And don't worry, you rejecting Wicca is not an issue. You don't have to be Wiccan to be in this guild. As it says on the homepage, this guild is for people who practice any Pagan tradition, or just people who are interested in learning about Paganism. And as long as you don't flame any religions, then there won't be any problems!
I hope you all enjoy being a part of our guild. And once again, welcome to Avalon!

dark_angel_32189 It's great to have you here, Lisa! I think it's awesome that you're moving to Florida! I, myself, live in Florida. Would you mind telling me which part you're moving to? Really? That's awsome. I'm moving to Gainesville. I've only been there once but I can't wait to move since it seems like an awsome place.

And as long as you don't flame any religions, then there won't be any problems! Oh god, I could ramble for ages on crystals - so beautiful, so seemingly subtle yet that powerful. I'll go nose at the library in a sec. I won't be doing any flaming, I haven't yet found a belief system that isn't worthy of learning from. I'm particularly fond of Mormon theology. Roufette Don't worry Fu, I'm not Wiccan either. xD Also, playing Devil's advocate is the funnest thing ever. Hey, I don't do it for the amusement value, it's for teaching and expanding viewpoints and... okay, maybe for laughs too. Sometimes. razz
