I'm like that too... crying I can't play anything above a top staff G either, and that's on a good day. Yet the band directors make me first chair in the bottom band...they confuse me sometimes.

I can work my way up to a high C (two ledger lines up), but I can pull high Gs (top of staff) out of the air with not-so-OK tone.

Just hitting the note... a staff-top G, MAYBE the A above that. Working up to it, a high D on a very good day.

Hey guys. I'm proud to announce that this year in my marching band, we have the tightest section ever. Everyone is so wonderful and works so well together; its a sort of thing thats never happend before to me in the trumpet sections. (And I've been playing for 9 years. Holy geez, I feel old.)
And on top of that, we sound really top form. We can hit those 16th note runs at 152 bpm like its nothing. I'm so proud of our section! mrgreen
Anyhoo, I guess to direct a new question: how do you all feel about your trumpet section in band this year?

My trumpet section is freakin' awesome! Thirty-odd trumpets, and I've finally managed to get away from the people who are in band "because Mom/Dad said so." Everybody actually cares about looking good, and our section is teh awesome.
First football game on Thursday the 1st... I can't wait.
