Annie seemed to appreciate the 'path' being made for him, though he didn't comment, if only because he was too enrapt in what Brooke was saying. His eyes were wide as she explained, and he scuttled curiously along behind her. "The elite? ... Like you?" he guessed, sounding in awe at the idea. Gee, was he in the presence of an 'elite'? That was amazing! He gave what could only be a nod for his virtually nonexistent head as she promised, following along and looking curiously towards the water as they approached. "Hm, hm, okay!" he conceded, "I trust you, teacher!"

"PJ" the Growlithe
PJ tipped his head from side to side a few times as he considered Ace's next question. Did he see anything interesting? Well, everything was interesting, kind of. He gave a little shake to indicate a shrug. "I think so! It was my first time really getting to explore so it's sorta hard to remember anything that might have been out of the ordinary... it was interesting seeing so many trainers with their pokemon, though, battling, practicing for contests, training...." He trailed off, his fluffy tail wagging a bit as he seemed to drift off to thought. He shook his head a bit and nodded to Ace's answer. "Oh, okay!" he said, and stopped, sitting when Ace said they could stop, though his tail continued wagging, "I don't mind continuing if you want, though! I like water!"

Monny the Monferno and Fritz the Fennekin
Monny shook his head as he was ushered out to the open grass and the door to the main Day Care building was closed. He looked around curiously, perked up with interest, the smaller, but older and more experienced, shiny fennekin beside him. Fritz seemed far more skeptical of the place, not so much because it was new, or even because it was unknown, but because there were clearly a lot of other pokemon here. What were the odds they were all friendly? Nonviolent? He wasn't sure if the Day Care had any policies or not. It made him... nervous.
Monny, on the other hand, was clearly unperturbed. He let out a happy chirp as he noticed a few other pokemon nearby and quickly headed off. Fritz jumped and rushed to follow-- before promptly stumbling and falling flat on his face. He quickly scrambled up, hurrying to try and catch up with the younger fire starter. He was supposed to keep an eye on him, after all.

Gyarados
Perhaps it was because of his typing, or perhaps it was because he was sent directly from the PC itself, and not entered to the system before being directed to the Day Care, but Gyarados was released elsewhere. Given 'elsewhere' was the large bed of water, though, it was probably due to his typing. It didn't help that he was sent here with no idea of why, nor that he had no idea that some of his teammates-- who he had never met --were here. Perhaps that was a bit of an oversight on his trainer's choice... Not that he was aware of it. He was lucky, though, in that Ajicka had at least mentioned him to Fritz... but how the Fennekin would find him, especially without knowing they'd been separated, would be questionable.

Titan regarded Spike, taking his time in deciding whether or not the creature was worth educating about his species. He seemed young, and considering that Weedle lived primarily in forests it was understandable that he knew so little. Besides, he wasn't a threat as long as he kept Hinata atop his shoulder, out of reach of the Weedle. Having reached a decision he began to answer, "Golett, the Automaton Pokémon. A ground and ghosting typing, found primarily in the deserts of Unova. Titan is the designated nickname given by the human, Alexandra; current trainer." At his next question he froze, the internal time he'd been keeping falling on zero, then he began to vibrate, gently so as to wake Hinata without actually startling her. When she began to stir he ceased all movement then finally turned his attention back to Spike on just what was so 'precious'. "Designated nickname, Hinata; Pokémon species, Ralts; primary objective, become stronger through training and casual interaction."

Brooke & Ace
Piplup & Charmander
Brooke nodded her head fervently at Annie's guess, rather liking the idea of her being apart of the elite. Of course... she wasn't exactly there yet, or even deserving of such a grand title, but her young pupil didn't need to know that! It might discourage him and make him lose his faith in her. The little penguin slowed to a waddle when they got to the shore, only stopping when the waves lapped at her feet. "Alright, here we are!" she announced then waited until Annie had joined her before she began to wade out, stopping when the water was at her waist. "So.. we'll start right here! Come out to me, and use your feet--or whatever you call them--and churn the water with them! Kick 'em out!"

"Ooh." Ace bobbed his head with widened eyes, the few things PJ described thoroughly interesting him. It sounded as if the pup had seen more than him, which wasn't surprising considering the... whirlwind of a trip he'd had up until meeting Apollo. He perked up at the mention of contests, remembering what the two had discussed prior to their search for Brooke. He held his tongue, however, and instead simply cocked his head when PJ admitted to.. actually enjoying water. It made sense, even if PJ was a fire-type he didn't have to fear having his life ended if his fire was doused out. "Okay!" Ace chirped, forcing his pessimistic thoughts to the back of his head. "We can go there! And, uhm..." he trailed off, suddenly uncertain again. "Maybe, while we're going there, you can teach me more about contests-- if you feel up to it that is."

Annie wriggled along till the edge of the water, eying it curiously. He couldn't wait to get in! But he had a weird feeling in his belly, too. Was it nerves? Maybe it was nerves. He dipped a claw into the water, looking up as Brooke began her instructs, shaking some of the water off as he retracted it. He nodded a bit, looking up at her and listening, then slithered a little closer with his shell body. "Okay, like... thi-- ag! grblgrble!" And just like that, Annie was under water.Just a few steps and it was basically like he was walking on the ground. Not even the slightest hope of floating, or lifting himself up as he flailed his limbs a bit, then quickly scooted back out, coughing and hiccuping out a bubble, blinking a bit. Well that was... not swimming, he assumed.

Brooke & Ace
Piplup & Charmander
With hands on her hips Brooke waited patiently for Annie to swim to her. Man, this was great! Soon she'd have Annie swimming like... like a fish! He'd be great, and then he could tell other pokemon about how great of a teacher she was! This was great, this was fun this was-- "Oh geez!" Brooke's eyes widened in surprise the moment Annie went under, his sentence cut off by the sudden rush of water that entered his mouth. Oh Arceus, her pupil was drowning! She was a terrible teacher! She returned to the shore in a mad dash, flippers extended to pluck her student from the water. He managed to save himself, however, simply backing up onto dry land-- this was exactly why she'd suggested they started in shallow water. Brooke stopped in front of Annie then gently rubbed his back, her expression contorted in concern. "Annie, are you okay?"
xxxxxxxx
Ace gave a quiet laugh and watched as PJ grew excited when he asked about contests, he really did like those things, didn't he? With a nod he began to follow after his friend, picking up the pace so not to be left behind-- he'd had enough of that for one day. "Maybe, once you've explained it, we could practice being in a contest," he suggested, catching up so that he could walk side-by-side with PJ.

Annie shook himself, recovering from the surprise. He looked up at Brooke, giving a nod with his whole body. "I'm fine!" he reassured her, looking up with a nonchalant expression. Clearly, he was not particularly perturbed by nearly drowning.... "I'm not sure I'm quite built for swimming, though...." he admitted, looking at himself curiously. "You're too dense," yawned a voice nearby, before a large mass dropped down beside them-- the head of a gyarados, who looked through half lidded eyes at the two fo them. Annie blinked, then looked down at himself again. "Huh? I am?""Mmmhhhmm," yawned the water-flying pokemon.

A blur. That was... pretty much all PJ's tail was at this point. Not only was Ace willing to listen to him gush about contests, but he was willing to practice with him!?! The growlithe may have had something in his mouth, but it was clear by the wide-eyed look that he gave Ace that he was very, very ecstatic at the idea. Once they neared the water, he set his bag down. "That would be great!" he barked excitedly, "You could give me feedback on my routine, and I... I could do the same for you!" Oh yes.... he was pretty thrilled by the idea

Monny the Monferno and Fritz the Fennekin
Fritz was having a hard time keeping up with Monny, and not just because of his tripping tendencies. Well... partially because of that. He kept having to dance around tripping hazards, and then there were the times when he didn't see the hazards, and tripped anyway. Or tripped over himself. But just as responsible for his struggles was the fact that Monny was simply moving fast. The little chimp was hopping here and there, greeting pokemon, and then darting off just as Fritz was able to catch up. Geez, the pokemon had a lot of energy. Maybe too much energy. Then again... perhaps that was part of why he was among the group of pokemon Ajicka had sent here....

Monny, on the other hand, was having an absolute blast. He had said hi to and made friends with (in his mind) several pokemon, and was positively thrilled at how much open space there was. He could run across fields, climb rocks, swing through trees, maneuver through jungle gyms... This place really had everything! He seemed to be completely oblivious to the fennekin trying to follow along, his attention set 100% forward, and on everything around him. It wasn't even so much that he was overwhelmed; he was just incredibly enthusiastic about doing as much as he possibly could.

Theodor the (Runty) Jolteon
Theodor was practically twitching and dancing as the daycare worker set him down in the new area, the tiny Jolteon’s head snapping left then right and then right again as he fidgeted excitedly in place. ”There you go little one. You go ahead and have fun. Your owner should pick you up in a bit.” The worker responded with a smile, the Jolteon’s attention snapping up to her as he gave an excited little ‘yip’ in return.
Oh boy, oh boy, ohboyohboyohboyohboyohboy! He was excited! Estatic even! Theodor was still getting use to his newly evolved form but this was just the place to practice! He was going to be strong, and tough and a menace and the best darn Joltythingie to ever cross the planet. Once the worker was gone he was off, dashing like a mad creature weaving about and taking in the sights. Oh boy, this was going to be great!

The first stop for Theodor was a rather hilly terrain. It seemed the kind of place those who adored the sands and dirts might like to frequent. It wasn't really the kind of place for his typing, but he wasn't quite aware of that.
Coming to a screeching a halt, he jittered about and starting sniffing wildly at the ground. He ended up sneezing about forty times from it, face contorting into a fit.
"Eeeeessssshhhh." Theodor sniffled once he'd finally finished. Well, that certainly wasn't fun. Soon though he was back to rummaging, even attempting to dig a hole. Sure, he was still sneezing every five seconds, but he was on a mission now. How far could he dig?

Theodor the (Runty) Jolteon
Eventually issues arose that made it much too difficult for Theodor to continue his digging adventure. The dust he was kicking up was just terrible and his eyes were watering like crazy. On top of that, he’d dug a good three feet down –impressive for something that was barely a foot in height- but now he was… a little bit stuck. Yeah. That was a problem.
"Uh oh." Theodor sniffled and sneezed, realizing the peril he’d gotten himself into. With little grunts he hopped up to try and climb out only to slip back down onto his bottom. Well uhm… this. This wasn’t good.

Theodor shuffled about in the hole. If there was anything that he was going to need to learn, it was how to take care of himself! There was no relying on others to help you! Or at least, there was no promise. Maybe there’d be others around in the team to help him from time to time, but he was a bit of a runt and chances where, he’d run into his own problems that’d he’d have to work out solutions for. Like this one. Pacing around in the small circumference of his face contorted into serious thought. A pink tongue sticking out ever so slightly from the corner of his mouth while his brow furrowed in serious consideration.
He just needed to be able to get a grip! The walls were kind of smooth though. Maybe the hole would flood with something? That could lift him out! Or harm him… and of course how was he going to get the hole to flood? He didn’t have water summoning skills! What a shame really, it’d help.

Theodor the (Runty) Jolteon
Theodor was not one to be foiled though. He had a new form after all and maybe, just maybe, he could make use of it. He plopped down on his rump and took a moment to consider his options. He had a lot of needle-y parts now and … claws! Kind of sort of. They were a little stubby for someone his size. Still though, maybe they’d provide him with enough a sticking point to scale the walls!
It would absolutely work! With a grin he was back on his feet and after running around in a small circle, he jumped and started to scale the wall. He slipped from time to time, slipping back to the bottom of the hole at least three times. He was successful in his final try though and gave a happy yip and bounce around as he shook the dirt from his body. Well that was fun! What else was there?

Freedom! Yes! He’d gotten his way out of the hole all by himself! Now he could go exploring and check the other areas! Or… actually he should wash off. He was all dirty from digging and scrounging his way up out of the hole. The dust was still bringing about the sneezing here and there too.
Dandy use to deal with keeping him clean when he was an Eevee, but maybe it was about time he figured it out for himself? Especially if he was going to be travelling! Travelers had to know when and where to bathe! This was the perfect time to develop these useful skills.
