Dimitri Otengam, Codename: Playboy, Location: Gym,7th floor

User Image - Blocked by "Display Image" Settings. Click to show. The second in command raised some good points, aside from showing some care about Dimitri's mental view on handling his situation. One being that they did go through some s**t from when the shield dropped on them to what happened to Bella. "Just fell back on my training is all." he said, as if he knew he had it in the bag when it came down to the wire, when at one point self he could feel the self doubt building the longer it took him to free his team. Along with the guilt of not being there for Bella when her life was truly in danger.

"As awesome as this yob is, it isn't for all of us."
By us he meant mutants. How many have been recruited only to walk away from this opportunity from what they've seen on the field or have been through? Maybe being desensitized was something that came in handy.

"I hope you do." Otengam replied in the same tone. One thing they did know well were sentinels and the MRD. Dimitri had expected the latter but for some reason not the former. "Glad you guys came back in good shape."

After giving Kerrigan a compliment on her physique she responded in a way that Dimitri also didn't expect. It sounded like something he would say and to others something they knew he would say. Nothing wrong with being confident. "I mean, for someone who's probably full of s**t anyway." he gave a cheeky smile of his own afterwards.

The two of them were greeted with more company. One who came in to work with the iron and one who wanted a crack at Dimitri and Kerri. But not before getting to know what made them unique and vice versa. "Makes cooking easier too." The alpha added. Nearly each situation that requested his powers outside the kitchen and on the field he used them for support or in a defensive manner. From switching to his second form of adding a layer of thin molten rock on his limbs that would be hidden with his x-suit. Darien also spoke about the burns that obviously came from Dimitri's X-gene and pondered for a second how that would benefit his mutation. The alpha had to politely shut that idea down

"Don't worry, you won't." Dimitri ensured. Blaze on the other hand may decide to entertain that idea.

As for the idea of the three of them getting some scrapes in, Kerri decided to opt out due to her ability. She claimed it would be unfair, regardless of what talents Darien's x-gene provided; however Dimitri didn't care. Not so much the cocky confident claim, but of what Kerrigan brought to the table. D knew she had a myriad of styles in her arsenal. He just didn't know what they were. But he was down for the one on one with her. Sure he'll get his a** beat, but he's gotten beat up before. Plus he'll probably learn a technique or two, see some flaws in his fighting, it was what martial arts was all about. "No problem. Thanks again K good talk."

The alpha continued to listen as Darien went into detail about his ability. No wonder why he wanted to get a scrap in. The more he could take, the more he could dish out, to super strength levels no doubt but to a zone that seemed unknown to him."Nice, I can see how that would come in handy."

Dimitri began to walk over to the sparring gear to get himself ready, taking a glance at the impressive amount of weight Alice was lifting."So what's your codename then?" He started to slip on some padded forearm gloves, followed by padded shin guards. Dimitri was down for a friendly spar to crack the new guy in but he wasn't stupid. "Harder I hit him, the harder he hits back..." he was already pondering his approach and strategy, adjusting his shin pads. It was a good thing he still had some energy in the tank to have a session with Darien.

Lord knew he was going to need it for the next person looking for him...

Thoughts: Wandering about!

User ImageTalk was about for training, with Colin inquiring about the Danger Room and such. Alex was happy to oblige, offering up suggestions on how to get involved in practice. He got his hands on the cleaning fluid, after having both Charlotte and Alex offer to help. He smiled at them kindly, appreciating the gesture. He was used to being in situations where he had to do things himself, being the youngest in his family and all. His fingers were meticulous in going over the graphene plate. He’d already done testing on the range. When secured properly it was able to take the impact of a .45 without a scratch. Sustained fire from a 5.56 caliber for a lot longer than he expected, though given he was in a test environment. A myriad of factors were going to come into play in the field. For all he knew, this stuff wouldn’t do so great against the ordinance a Sentinel had packing. Energy-based weaponry was something that was a bit beyond his speed, plus as far as he was aware they didn’t have anything salvaged from any previous encounters. Not like he’d be allowed to look at it, let alone touch it.

If he got his hands on some Sentinel tech… that’d be a big game changer for the X-Men. Some way of tapping into their network, a means to manipulating their scanning system to protect all mutants, that would essentially level the playing field. Let the X-Men hide in plain sight, force the MRD to change tactics. By that point they get them to hunt the old-fashioned way, eyes and ears. Some surveillance technology was useful, but with the right kind of material, even some makeup, they could evade that kind of technology. His thoughts were so focused on that sweet, sweet tech he was approached by Thomas who gave him a look over, asking about his leg, to which he replied “Oh! Um.. sorry. Startled me there for a second.” He chuckled for a second, pointing to his leg, “Oh, it’s alright. No wound, just pain.”

“Elixir’s way of teaching me a lesson for getting shot in the field, I guess.” he then focused back on his plate. So many ideas were running around in his head. If they were going to fight these machines they had to change their tactics. Mutant powers weren’t going to be enough; they had to fight fire with fire. Machine with machine, so to speak. Stealth drones able to hide from surveillance satellites, kinetic bombardment systems hidden in the earth’s thermosphere, thermite grenades to pierce their armor…

After doing his task, he set the washing fluid back where he found it. He grabbed the pieces of his weapon, quickly sliding them back into their proper place. His fingers glided across the weapon as he rapidly assembled it. Quickly grabbing the bullets he stopped himself from placing them back into the cylinder, instead pocketing them. He threw his revolver back on his thigh holster. He took his cane, holding it firmly in his hand as he watched Colin used her ability. Apparently it was some kind of sound induced matter generation, fascinating to watch really. He smiled, impressed by what he was seeing. Deciding that fair was fair, he took a moment to unroll his left sleeve, showing the skin underneath. Twirling his fingers about, he focused for a moment as his arm shifted into the barrel of the bio-cannon he was born with. He felt the bolt slide in place, the buzz of the energy buildup as the bio-cannon prepared to fire. If anyone looked closely they’d see that his face flushed a shade of red as his body temperature jumped a few degrees. Sweat quickly beaded in little droplets across his face as he forcibly willed his ability away. The bolt in him vanished off to wherever it sat in his body, the buzz of the propellant energy dissipated, and his skin eased up as his arm shifted back to normal.

“Body naturally synthesizes a tungsten carbide alloy, that I can launch from my body. Drains the hell out of me though, so I don’t like to use it that often unless I absolutely need to.”

“I best be going now, I got a few more things to do today. Pleasure, everyone.” he proceeded to hobble off and out of the kitchen.

-And a Little While Later!

The young man hobbled about on his cane, wandering his way about the base. His mind racing at the different ideas and inventions going on in his head. First and foremost, he was thinking about the drone concept. If he were to even consider getting that project underway, he’d need to figure out a power source. Solar energy would be ideal, no need to bring it down to refuel. Save on both time and resources. Install an on-board diagnostic system to update on parts and status, allowing for it to come down only when it needed repairs or upgrades. With efficient solar absorption he could probably keep a drone in the sky almost indefinitely, let it hang at the edge of the thermosphere to collect energy.

And what better place to learn about solar collection than from the best kind of panels out there? His mind raced to the gardens, faster than his pseudo-crippled status could take him. Billions of years of evolution and natural selection had lead to the Kingdom of Plantae doing a better job of utilizing the sun’s energy than we ever could have. Of course nature has done a better job at many things humans have ever attempted. Termite colonies are hyper-efficient at redirecting heat, even the mantis shrimp’s exoskeleton is so far beyond any kind of armor we’d ever designed. He’d have to get his hands on some samples, as well as some equipment, and… some books on botany…

Yeah he was gonna need to brush up on that. s**t he thought to himself Now I have to relearn biology.

He was practically in tunnel vision as he reached the Gardens, his brain focused on the task he had in his mind. He didn’t even notice the Omega girls in there already. He began to look at the lights, noting that they needed to be able to replicate solar with enough wattage to be able to stimulate any plant growth. He’d have to dig around in the Supply rooms for some of those. Taking a note of all the different colors of the different plants in there. Specifically he was focused on all the green. Chlorophyll, the key component that made this all possible. That allowed for the conversion of light and heat combined with carbon dioxide and nutrients from the soil into energy for the organism. He peered about, his eyes desperately trying to gain more detail by somehow focusing more intently on the flora. He raised his fingers gently along the leaves of the ferns and leaves. He was so focused on these plants that he completely ignored the weight of the gun on his thigh. s**t he forgot about the pain in his leg.

Until the pain came shooting back with a vengeance. He reflexively grabbed his leg with the hand holding the cane, causing him to lose his balance. He slipped and fell over to the side, landing squarely on his a**. He felt the back of his head smack right into the wall, right next to the sprinkler system. God knows how much in deep s**t he’d be if he’d set off that with people inside. Especially since the sudden impact jarred him with the realization that one of the Omegas was none other than Narcissa herself. He knew it would be bad, plain and simple, to get on her bad side.

But maybe, just maybe, and even then it was a very stupid gamble on his part, he could see about getting into a dialogue without her wanting him dead. Immediately. Groaning for a second, he got himself back up, propping himself up with the cane and slowly made his way towards her. He kept his distance, waiting for the conversation she was having with one of her subordinates die down, apparently Dimitri was going to be getting an earful, or a fist to the face, likely a combination of the two at this point. It didn’t really matter to him, whatever shenanigans the lava manipulator got into were his own bag of hammers.

His disheveled appearance, the consequences of working in a shop in an underground bunker, certainly didn’t help his first impression. It’s not as if he didn’t bathe at all, but sometimes grease was a b***h to get off the skin. He approached slowly, watching as the Omega leader painted her subordinate’s nails. He remembered watching his sister do it, she even let him at one point do it on her nails. He was surprisingly good at it; he remembered her laughing and wondering if he’d missed his calling as a manicurist.

Waiting for a moment where he could politely interject, “Excuse me… Narcissa.” he started, nervously with his intestines twisting about, trying to be concise, eliminate the stammer “I was hoping, when you are finished, if I may borrow a moment of your time?”

“I was hoping to ask a couple questions about the nature your powers. I’m beginning a project on solar energy and I wanted to get some… insight.”

Thoughts: Having a nice morning Location: [Kitchen] With: Some of the Alpha Team? Is this the other twin or...

He really had not considered it much of a thought process. There were one too many people, to his liking anyways, which rendered him with just the notion of reaching the glass out and watching as the juice made it's way into the clear object with a light splash. A part of him wondered what would have happened if he caused it to splash out instead. That certainly would be a way to start everyone's morning. He smirked before the girl (Collin) neared him with the phone. His eyes shifted left to right, reading the text where apparently, he was a ninja.

"I could be..." he gave it a bit of a thought, his face reflecting that he was thinking deeply with a smug look to his face that made it seem like he was agreeing to the idea. "Or I could just have a dull personality like one of those characters in a story or game that you never knew existed right up to the point they start talking to you. Fun, right?"

He was joking..mostly, something he iterated in case she thought he was actually serious. Of course she inquired about his abilities before, but he asked right before she could finish typing everything out. That was how everything went in those kind of situations, the person who asked first got their inquiry answered unless the other person found a way to conveniently dodge the situation. That did not seem to be the case with her as it was something simple and completely harmless to ask. In his case anyways. His mind reflected back to one situation that had him completely gag. That in itself was drowned out by the spectacle that unfolded before him and everyone else that were already present or began to fill the Kitchen.

He was curious, he had to admit, when she took the red colored iPod and started to browse through for a song. A part of him guessed that it may had something to do with sound. He would be ignorant to not see the signs, or in his mind, connect the dots. For the most part, she seemed mute, having to use the phone she carried as a means to communicate and now she was playing music. Still, he was picturing one thing and not expecting her to take the sound itself and begin crafting a construct out of it.

The forms went into different shapes. it started off as a diamond and then she began to toy around with the white semi-transparent construct until it was round and flat, like a disc. Then she made it into a cube, all of which Marcel found to be an interesting ability. Her last feat was then turning the the cube into a tree right as the song itself concluded. Out of curiosity, he was daring himself to poke the object to see if it was solid or if he could go right through it, but as a few more arrived, her distraction was cut. The object began to distort and soon she caught it, creating a sound that reminded him of when he stepped on a large bug, minus the large crack of their exoskeleton. A squash effect if he wanted to be exact.

"That's still impressive either way" he stated when she mentioned she was not capable of doing anything big yet. "Everyone starts from somewhere. But yea, the Gym and Danger Room seem like the best choices. As Lyn--"

He had to catch himself in the last moment, not sure if he had the right twin (Charlotte) or not before looking back at Collin. He cleared his throat making it seem as if he were gagging on something to cover up the possible mistake. He was never certain how most would take to a situation like that, being called the wrong person.

"Umm...as it was brought up, the Danger Room requires permission, but there are other ways for a person to improvise, like the mentioned range at the old school."

She asked him of his ability and he was going to get right with it. He took a sip from the juice, but then let a glob of it float out wards in the air, the form itself wobbly in appearance to that of a spherical ball. Shorty after doing so, he concentrated and it began to solidify, bearing no form of breaking apart. Since she was kind enough to play with shapes and forms, he felt it right to do the same, the sphere turning into that of a shuriken. While keeping it aloft with one hand, he set the glass down and picked up an apple out from one of the baskets on the table. In a quick matter, the liquid spun around it, shaving the apple of it's skin like a knife. The skin fell to the floor, but the male concentrated a bit more, the juice parting from the apple, but the fruit itself still remaining aloft.

He smiled a little as the apple itself began to drain, liquid pouring out of the fruit as it dried out and then fell. The water drained from it then joined the juice and Marcel opened the trash bin, dropping the liquid inside and then picking up the remains of the apple itself and dumping it in.

"Hydrokinesis, basically" he walked towards the microwave, pulling his bowl of oatmeal out and greeting everyone else who had arrived, an odd boost of confidence within him to actually be more social."The kitchen probably isn't the best place to toy around with abilities though. Whenever you want, I'm certain it's no issue for us to show you around."

His ears twitched at the mention of coffee and he was livid, though he did greet Lachlan in between. His hand raised partially when Eden asked around. "Sure, I'll take some."

When that was all said and done, he remembered he forgot to actually give his name.

"My apologies" he said with a slight chuckle to them both, more so for Collin. "Name's Marcel."

As she went about fixing the food, Colin asked about the danger room. Various responses were heard from herself and others in the room. It was shortly thereafter that she made her own comment which was noticed by Charlotte. “Well no! Nothing to that extreme! I am just trying to self-teach myself so….I cannot say I have not had a few bad attempts.” She explained before sighing faintly. “I should have phrased that better.”

Alex noticed two new people enter the cafeteria. While the girl(Eden) wasn’t someone she recognized right away, she did return the wave. “Morning.” She said to Thomas before hearing the girl(Eden) complain about the lack of coffee in the coffee pot. Luckily, the girl(Eden) just decided to make herself a pot and be nice enough to offer some. “Sure.” Though, she would be adding some creamer and sugar to make the drink less bitter.

When Thomas asked a question about everyone’s day, she smiled. “It has been good. Just working on fixing myself some food.” She furrowed her eyebrows. “Did you two want any?” She figured she should offer the girl(Eden) and Thomas some food. Maybe the pressure would help her in this case to make sure the food turned good. Or it could do the opposite. Hopefully the former.

The topic of powers came into play. Seemed to always be a common conversation. Colin quickly showed her stuff, as they say, by creating a strange orange substance while dancing to some music. As the newer of the Alphas pointed out, the noise apparently helped her to concentrate. “Reminds me of how music allows me to relax.” Playing her flute or listening to classical music really did take the stress right out of her. She giggled at the unexpected noise. “It is alright.”

Her eyes widened at how Gabriel’s power worked. Seeing his arm change into a weapon was not something she was used to. While she wasn’t too familiar with the alloy he spoke of, the idea of turning her arm into a weapon caused one of her arms to feel faintly sore. “I could understand.” She remarked before Gabriel dismissed himself and she waved him goodbye. Maybe he finally understood he should be resting his leg rather than walking around on it like that.

Marcel mentioned his own ability, but he did not show it. Well, unless she counted the juice incident as him showing off his ability. But, she figured best not to point that out. “Sensory adaption myself. I can enhance one of the five senses at a time. For instance, I can make my hearing as sensitive as a dogs, or make my eyes see far away like a telescope. I still need to work on doing more than one sensory enhancement at once.” Even though she could demonstrate, it wasn’t obvious like Marcel’s ability. Not like her eyes turned colors or anything like that.

“I try not to use it all the time though. Just imagine what loud music would sound like with dog hearing.” She jested faintly and chuckled. Though, she couldn’t say she never used her abilities outside of missions or classes. What fun would it be to have such ability if she didn’t use it for other purposes? “But, your power looks pretty cool. I am sure it will become even greater with time.” She smiled at Colin before going back to the food.

Even watching the guys square up to each other wasn’t awful. Alice kept her focus on the bar over her head, pressing up in repetition until finally locking it in place and sitting up. She rubbed her face with her hands as she spoke to Kerrigan, though as she did, a familiar voice rang in her ear.

Blake. Something was wrong and she knew that. Considering this was the first time she had been back that he said he was going out drinking, and definitely the first time he took her outside of the mansion, or the base, to do so. A smirk formed over her lips as she pressed her finger into the com.
“Gotcha there, Cowboy, just let me shower quick and I’ll meet you at the car. Fake ID and all.”

Her eyes went to Kerrigan, and even to the boys for a half-second. “Duty calls. Try not to have too much fun.” She grabbed her bag and left the gym quickly, making her way to the elevator and up to where her dorm was. She grabbed a change of clothes, and her necessities before jumping in the shower and rinsing the work-out sweat off of her body.

As she stepped out, she quickly toweled off before getting dressed. She didn’t pull on her gloves, but kept them in her pocket as a precaution before heading back to her room to make her hair as messy and beachy as possible before heading for the door.

                                                                                    Nashville.

Of course he would choose Nashville, the hick. Alice sat at the bar, wondering what was eating Blake alive like an annoying parasite and put him in a weird enough mood that he drug her out of the base. She sipped at her whiskey coke as he started hammering down drink after drink. And with each drink, the truth started coming out more and more.

Broken heart. Of course. Alice’s grip on her glass tightened. She wanted to ******** up whoever it was that messed with her friend. Finally, thought tightly closed teeth, she spoke.
“What a b***h.” It wasn’t much, but it was all that she could muster without completely tearing into the girl who couldn’t even defend herself against it.

More and more about Bella came out. Her obvious ******** up interest in guys was probably more of a compliment than in insult to Blake.
“Sounds like you got off easy. Sure, it hurts like hell, and it’s gonna. But do you really want to be with a chick so damn crazy that she only wants guys that need something to be fixed? I’d take it as a compliment that you’re not ******** up enough to be on her radar, she’s gotta be out of her mind.”

She slammed down the last of her whiskey coke before a voice made her shoulders tense up. Some sleeve ball, and ball was describing him perfectly, tried to make his way between the two friends. Her eyes barely looked over him as he pushed himself between the two.
“I was having a good time till you-” Blake’s voice cut through the sound of the crowd and the music before she could even finish. Her hands tightened around the empty glass of ice and watered down whiskey. Movement at her side, and the sound of a sick, but familiar, pop brought a smile to her face. Sliding out of her chair, Alice moved to get a prime sight of the show that was unraveling before her eyes. Blake was a machine like this. And honestly, she was happy that she could see him really let loose. But at the same time, it wasn’t much like his normal self. Maybe Narcissa saw this side, deep down inside of him. Maybe she saw the fight he had and that’s why he was on the Omega’s team.

Not that Alice minded. She liked seeing a familiar face on her squad.

                                                                                    “I know you can, Tex,”
she replied back to him. She chuckled softly, watching the fight break out, but that wasn’t stopping another creep from trying to make a move. “A lady such as yourself shouldn’t be in the presence of animals.” She felt an arm slither its way around her waist and immediately make her skin crawl. “You’ve got about two seconds to get your hands off me before I break your nose, fracture at least one cheek bone, and maybe even a bit of your eye socket.”

“Don’t need to be so guarded, sweetheart, just tryin’ to get you outta here before you get hurt.”

                                                                                    “One.”

“Ya know what the problem is with bitches like you? Ya don’t know how to take a compliment. All you chicks with your feminist bullsh-”

                                                                                    “Two.”

Alice’s hand moved to where his was at her waist, twisting his wrist hard enough to force his body to bend and the waist. Her other hand grabbed the back of his head, using the momentum of his body bending to force his head down onto her uprising knee. A vicious snap was felt against her leg and blood poured from his face as he fell back into the bar. The bruises were already starting to turn black from the impact. The guy crumpled to the ground just as the bouncers took hold of Blake.

Brushing herself off and grabbing her jacket, she took one last look at the guy as he sat on the ground, trying to hold his bleeding nose, his hands shaking with pain before she made her way towards the door after Blake. Stepping outside into the fresh air, at least up to Nashville standards, she caught up with her friend.
“Who knows, maybe we will start a few more fights and raise a little hell before we get out. Fighting or no fighting, I don’t care much either way.” They were two mutants who didn’t have their powers active in a city full of over-privileged asshats trying to make their way in country music, there was definitely going to be more fighting.

Finally, they reached a bar that seemed to be leaving them alone.
“No kidding. Who the hell is Natalie Dormer and why did he think I was her?” She raised her own glass to his toast, clinking them together before throwing back the drink. She swallowed hard, the burn hardly bothering her at this point. Her cheeks were pink and warm, and alcohol was deep in her belly. “After this we should get pizza. And probably a room. There’s no way either one of us are making it back to base like this.” She was at that prime between area of being drunk. Smack in the middle of not being able to operate a motor vehicle and singing really bad karaoke.

This is a fight for love, lust, hate, desire

Two seconds in and she already liked them. They seemed like a friendly bunch… and an interesting bunch too, given the fact that they were drinking and boogie-boarding down a makeshift slip n’ slide. It was a pretty genius thing to do on a boring day and, of course, her precious pugbaby ran straight for it. This pretty much invalidated all current and future complaints about being bored and being underground and whatnot. All they had to do was drag their whiney butts down to the pool. Boom. Instant excitement.

“Sup,” She greeted the group after Charlie introduced them all. “I’ll probably forget all of your names in, like, five minutes. So… gonna apologize ahead of time for that.”

Hopefully they’d be okay with ‘dude’, ‘girl’, or ‘you with the face’ for now.

“Thanks, dude! I did most of them myself, actually. Perks of having an ink mutation.” As she said that, the vine on her right forearm morphed into a bottle of Patrón before morphing into the word ‘yes’. “This answer your question?”

She grabbed one of the cups that Christian poured, thanked him, and took a swig. The tequila burned its way down her throat and left her with a warm sensation. It wasn’t nasty, but it would’ve been better with a bit of fruit juice. She made a mental note to bring some next time… along with a speaker.

“You tryin’ to get me to take my clothes off? Not even gonna buy me dinner first?” She offered the man a playful wink. But before he could say anything, she pulled off her shirt and shorts, leaving just her undergarments. Had she known she’d be swimming, she would’ve worn her bikini underneath her clothes. But… Parker wasn’t exactly the shy kind. And underwears were pretty much bikinis anyway.

“Now you gotta show me something, werewolf boy.” By that, she meant his mutation. Growing up, werewolves existed only in novels and movies. Now there was a real one… not even ten feet in front of her. Of course she wanted to see the wolf in action.

Tara, the only other Alpha present, walked over and offered her a handshake. “Nice to meet you, fellow Alpha.” She then laughed when the girl said she looked “pretty athletic”. Judging from the fact that she nearly gave herself a heart attack from chasing a pug, she definitely was not athletic. But good to know she didn’t look out of shape. “Hell yeah, I’m ready! You boys are goin’ down!

But before she could play with the slide, Christian asked for ideas to propose a toast and Tara suggested that he toast about the awesome slip n’ slide pool party they came up with. “I second that.” She emptied the contents of the cup in her mouth and set the cup down on the floor, ready for a refill.

She watched with a smile on her face as Christian wrestled Charlie into the pool. Tara took that opportunity to use the slide and her precious Celina paddled around Maddy with her tongue out, obviously enjoying the pool and the people. The dark haired Omega seemed to have already fallen deeply in love with her pugbaby judging from the threat that she uttered. But Parker’s only reaction was an amused chuckle.

“You’re a feisty one. I like you already,” She said, making absolutely no attempt to remove Celina from the pool. Her baby was having fun. Maddy was having fun. Why ruin it? “But dude over there’s got a point.”

                “Sorry. Remind me your name?”
She asked Jacen before continuing. “She likes you so you’re more than welcome to pug-sit anytime you want. How’s that?”

Once Tara was back, she grabbed the boogie board, ran up to the top of the slide, flopped herself on top of it, and slid head first into the water. Once she emerged through the surface, she pointed at her empty cup and asked for a refill. “Another!” Drunk pool games were always more fun than sober ones.

                                              At this Location: Greenhouse
Thinking About: Be a better me, starting at the Greenhouse!
                                              While on Team: Alpha

Returning to the base never felt so good before, especially, considering that their underground bunker was essentially as welcoming as a spacious jail cell. Lyn wanted nothing more than to spend it lounging and truly appreciating that she wasn’t in some warzone, and having Raine be her drink buddy only seemed fitting after their stellar bodyguard detail. The rest of the day went by in bliss, but as she went to bed that night, she couldn’t ignore the daunting dread that loomed over here as she recounted the mission. Things went awry, and she still had nerves running up her spine through it all. How many missions would it take before she stopped hesitating on the field? Hurting people shouldn’t be a priority of hers, but with her mutation, it was inevitable, and the thought crushed her. Lyn, the Alpha’s own fireball of energy and charm, was a walking wildfire, who could easily become anyone’s pyre in a careless sweep of her arm, or dark enough thought.

If she truly wanted to help save the world, then she needed to convince herself that her enemies were really bad guys, and bad guys deserve to be hurt. Any hesitating could lead to one of her own teammates getting hurt. Or, dare she think, her own sister? No. She couldn’t let that happen! This was her opportunity to prove to everyone that when Lyn looks into the abyss of danger, she won’t just stare back defiantly: she’ll wink! It was time to leave a new mark on this world, scorching with warm emotions and a brighter future, without a need for some artificial light.

That was her new personal mission: to forge a kick-butt version of Lyn and make that the norm. She spent a large amount of time in the Danger Room to try and keep her form in tip-top shape, and the pool to help cool herself down when things got too heated. She started watching other Alphas (and even some of the Omegas) to figure out what makes them hardy. There wasn’t much progress she could make in the two days after the botched mission from before, but it was enough to get Lyn started on her routine and figure out where she wanted to go. No longer would she simply be known as the “cute one” when someone mentions the Gauge twins!

That being said, even the toughest of fighters needed some downtime, and she had the urge to get in a few laps at the pool to warm herself up before she went back to the Danger Room for the day. However, upon nearing the doors to the pool, she heard several voices clamoring together excitedly, along with splashes. She peeked her head in curiously, letting out a silently “Oh!” as she say some Alphas and Omegas enjoying themselves with what looked like a slip-n-slide. Her curiosity and interest were sparked, but Lyn was looking for a place with a little less energy to find some inner peace before heading to her training. She felt that horsing around with these guys would do little but persuade to join the fun times. She wasn’t against it all (this was Lyn we’re talking about), but considering she just wanted to soak in the water for a little while, her desire was smoked before she even set foot in. With a sigh, she retreated from the doorway and walked back down the hall, trying to figure out another place to find some alone time to think.

The Greenhouse! Nothing more relaxing than strolling with some plants!

Her problem lasting only for the briefest of moments, Lyn picked up her pace to a confident strut and marched to the desired room, intent on finding that peace she so sought out for. The greenhouse had to be the best choice after all: there’s no way a bunch of people would be crowded in that place, right?

She had little idea how challenged she would be when she stepped in and took a whiff of the plants around her. Even donned in a simple pair of olive beach shorts, a spacious grey shirt (with a conservative swimsuit underneath for her anticipated pool time) and sandals, she was comfortable enough to glide through the aisles of foliage around her, though made the adjustment to tie her hair up in a quick ponytail since swimming wasn’t gonna happen just yet. However, it didn’t take long for her to run into some company, a drenched Gracie and somewhat-wet Luke conversing being just about the last thing she’d expected. “Wow! It’s the three of us again! And here I thought the greenhouse would be kinda empty!” she said as she noisily bounced up to them. She stayed a little out of the way of the sprinkler’s spray and tried to keep herself somewhat dry, even though she was already dressed for the occasion. That didn’t last long though, as Gracie turned off the sprinklers and allowed Lyn to join their proximity.

“So, is this some secret meeting in the greenhouse? Or did I just walk in on some crazy coincidence?” she asked the two, hands clasped behind her back as she looked around the greenhouse. Her gaze landed on a Daylia and the Omega Leader, Cissa, sitting a ways away from them all. She gave a quick wave at them, completely unaware of any sort of desire to remain undetected by them, before turning back to Luke and Gracie. “That’s two more! I was looking for a place that was a little more secluded, but I didn’t think there’d be five of us in here! Oh well, at least there’s not a slip-n-slide, like the pool has.”

                                                    ¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯

If anything, Thomas seemed a little slow. She gave him a sweet smile when he assured he would get up earlier if he wanted to use his sink next time. Still, she really didn’t understand what the big deal with him being shirtless was. He mentioned things being awkward in ‘those situations’ and she questioned him only for him to explain that he didn’t want to give her the wrong message. Her brows remained furrowed.

”Trying to what? Show off those abs?” Her tone was playfully mocking. There was a part of her that knew what he meant - sort of. But how old was he? She sighed softly. ”You’re weird.” she settled on that.

It shouldn’t have been any surprise to her that he wouldn’t have any interest in her makeup. He tried to save it but the sideways glance she gave him was bordering on a glare. ”You’re just trying to butter me up now. I hope I don’t get the wrong idea...” she stated puckishly in reference to his previous statements.

On the subject of her power she smiled dreamily. He tried to tell her that everyone felt like a caged bird, but he couldn’t understand. She hated being grounded like this. Being cooped up was only half of the problem, her wings being clipped was far worse. And she couldn’t do much about it. The one place she may have been able to spread her wings was blocked off by force fields - she’d learned that the hard way.

When he suggested she ask if she could go flying, she gave him an unconvinced smile. ”Maybe…” It was sweet of him to try to give her some hope.

”I want to go see if Bella is awake yet.” A bright smile lit her eyes as she answered the question. What had happened to the Alpha leader was by no means happy, but she was excited for the siren to wake up, and hopeful that it would be soon.

                                                    ¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯

The kitchen was busy, no surprise there. But she was always happy for some company, and didn’t mind it in large quantities. In fact, the brunette liked to always have company. It was being alone that was hard for her. Eden gave a soft wave in lieu of verbal greetings and introductions, and left Thomas to be social with everyone while she beelined for the coffee pot. The empty coffee pot. Did people really not drink coffee here? What did they even do in the mornings?

Sure, she didn’t need coffee to function, but there was something totally relaxing about drinking coffee in the morning. And while it wasn’t crucial to her existence, it did help perk her up on rough mornings.

Those who said they would have some coffee received a sweet smile. “I’m on it!” she assured confidently. She gave a sideways glance to the girl (Alex) who was making breakfast as she prepped the coffee pot. The brunette paused what she was doing when asked if she wanted some food, lips pursed at the offer while her eyes meandered the ingredients. Her posture shifted with a one shouldered shrug that nearly her cheek with the tilt of her head.

”Maybe just a nibble?” she replied warmly as she turned the coffee pot on. The smile turned slightly devious with a quick glance over her shoulder as she reached into her purse. She slid it around in front of her, where the rest of the kitchen wouldn’t be able to see, but the blonde would. As she pulled her flask halfway out for the girl to see, her brows rose suggestively. A silent offering to the girl whose name she didn’t even know.

The doe eyed flyer perked when she heard one of the boys (Lachlan) mention that he was looking forward to fresh coffee, and subconsciously fluttered higher into the the air in delight as she spun around to face the rest of the kitchen. She dropped her flask snuggly back into her purse before she did.

He introduced himself as Lachlan and she hovered back over to Thomas. Dark hues looked over the others for the first time. ”I’m Eden.” she told them in response to Lachlan’s introduction. She hadn’t been with the X-Men for very long - fresh off the run - and nearly everyone was a stranger to to her. Luckily, she had never been shy around people she didn’t know, and didn’t have much trouble finding new friends.

”Team Alpha.” She announced happily with a twirl before draping her arms loosely around Thomas’s neck. She had a tendency to attach herself to the people she made friends with. Her legs bent at the knee to keep her feet off of the ground, crossing at her ankles as she floated behind the healer.

His eyes flashed with anger as his tone hardened while they discussed Scott’s shortcomings. “Just because you were accepting of Gideon and Leo, doesn’t mean he should not have recognized the dangers Kat presented. She’s been a problem for a while now and has not improved in the slightest where her moral compass is concerned.” At some point, Scott should have intervened before it got to the point of Kat trying to kill the Alpha leader. That was unforgivable.

Bells, you’ve always had a heart of gold… you’re accepting where many would not be… but when things didn’t improve, a different tactic should have been taken.” Narcissa would have been better suited to the volatile personality the ex-hydra agent had, regardless of how the blond would have felt about her past. Kat saw Bella as a doormat.

He hadn’t meant to hurt her by mentioning Gideon, but dancing around the existence of her former flame did nothing to help her. For him, those memories served a different sort of pain, but he kept it tucked away as he tried to help her through hers. “I’m sorry I wasn’t.” He whispered when she reminded him that he had deserted her.

If I had the power to change the past...” His southern lilt held so much guilt, it made the air around him feel heavier. He would never have left her alone. Surely the pain of watching her fall for someone else would have faded and he could have accepted just being friends… But the opportunity presented itself, and with as much as he missed his horses, and his cowardice regarding his own heart… He disappeared.

He reasoned against Kat’s animalistic nature, citing the vindictive streak was more human, but Bella didn’t argue further. “Animals might never forget something, but they act out of defense. Not vengeance.

From what he had heard, Leo’s idea of handling her wasn’t all that Isabella made it to be. Any one of the mutants could have tried to kill her. That wasn’t dealing. “I’m glad he was there to intervene. But fighting violence with more violence isn’t really taking care of a situation.” As a leader, she knew that.

As she disappeared to take a shower, the pieces finally fell in place; Leo’s overly violent reaction, Kat’s reasoning to attack her (if what Bella said was true about her merely being a pawn)... everything. As the lump in his throat grew larger, his heart sank into the icy pit of his stomach. She loved someone else. After all this time, she still didn’t see him.

She bounced out of the bathroom, and Blake somehow rose to his feet, intending to be the friend she had always known. Taking a deep breath, he stepped toward her and extended his hand for her to take. No matter how many times he had coached himself to press on like it was nothing when she had been cleaning up… the Texan had not been prepared for the feel of her petal-soft fingertips brushing his. It nearly brought him to his knees.

Pulling back, he swallowed as he stared at the floor, his conscience still telling him to do the right thing. But when he chanced a look at his best friend, nothing could have concealed the misery and unabridged pain swirling in the depths of his oceanic eyes.

Slowly, he finally brought the confession that had burned on his tongue to the air, telling her that he wasn’t strong enough to continue like he felt nothing. His heart in pieces, he wordlessly left her in the infirmary. Everything he felt, every piece of him that he was sure was worth anything, he left at her feet.

                                                                Nashville

Alice had been quick to get ready and follow him out of the base. It had taken several drinks in rapid succession for him to finally say what had inspired the trip, and in true Alice form… she decided that Bella was the devil. “She just didn’t feel the same way.” He amended, the back of his mind not wanting to paint Bella the villain. Not that it would do any good where the earth mover was concerned.
But the more whiskey he drank, the less that seemed to matter. How could she not know? And her fumbled apology… because that was what he needed to hear. She was sorry. Right. He was sorry too; he had wasted all that time, carrying a torch for a girl who barely knew he existed, except for when she needed emotional support.

                                                                Blake the rock.

He laughed bitterly into his cup when Alice reasoned he was better off. “Now that I’m broken, I’m probably more attractive now. There’s something to fix.” Polishing off the glass, he slammed it down loud enough to catch the bartender’s attention so that he could refill it.

He would have continued, but a man resembling a basketball - bumps and all wedged himself between the two friends and started making a pass at Alice. He was quick to defend her, promptly socked the guy in the face, his knuckles instantly tearing from the impact; though, it was nothing compared to the swelling on the basketball’s face.

In seconds, most of the bar was up in arms, drunks hooting and hollering as they brawled and Blake nearly missed Alice’s own piece of the fight as the bouncers started pulling him toward the exit. He swung one last time, cussing the bar for kicking them out before he dusted off his shoulders and grinned at Alice. “I’m feeling spry enough to take on an entire football team.” He said, already starting for another bar.

Several bars and broken noses later, they found themselves tucked in a darker part of one establishment, karaoke blaring as they sipped at their glasses. “Beats me..” He said, thinking it was a poor excuse to snap high end pictures. “I might have believed it if he’d been using his cellphone and wanted to snap a famous person.” He slurred, his accent as thick as molasses.

She suggested pizza and a room, and Blake’s eyes flashed with mischief as he grinned. “Hey now, lady. Don’t get any ideas about that room. I’m a gentleman, after all.” The molecular manipulator joked, motioning for a waitress carrying tube shots to come to their table. He grabbed three for each of them, handing her several folded bills to pay the tab.

                                                                We need a pizza.

The waitress started to open her mouth to say the bar didn’t have a kitchen, but after she glanced down at the money, eyes wide and nodded, happy to oblige. “I like a spicy chicken pizza, but I will take whatever.” He inclined his head toward the blond and smiled. “And whatever she wants.

                                                                Later

Stuffed, their stomachs sloshing with alcohol, they found a hotel not far from the strip and Blake held the door for her, not paying any mind to the flashes behind them. “I think this will do for the night.” He said, ushering them up to the concierge. “We’d like a room with a double please.

                                        Name: Isabella Stone
Location: X-Men Facility - Medical Bay
                                        Team: Alpha

Blake couldn’t see that it wasn’t Scott’s fault.

Isabella bit her tongue this time. When Gideon had arrived to the Academy he’d been just as reclusive and antagonistic as Katerina. He’d been just as feral. There were no dangers that Scott could have seen that she hadn’t—Unless Emma had been immorally gleaning information on the former HYDRA agent using telepathy. Bella knew that Scott hated it when she did that. Emma wouldn’t have, not without cause.

To that end Katerina had given no reason for additional concern. She was mouthy and smartarsed—But that could be used to describe nine tenths of the Omega’s on the daily. “Having a heart doesn’t seem to get me anywhere.”

Aside from having it repeatedly broken.

“There was improvement from my standpoint. She fought with us when the Sentinels attacked. She befriended Aurelie, Christian, and a few others. She attended training when asked, missions when required. Some part of her seemed to be acclimating until recently...”, Isabella defended quietly, trying hard to make him understand without upsetting him. Narcissa was the last person Katerina should be near. One of them would kill the other on principle alone. Not for any reason other than to posture and show who was the bigger threat.

Isabella didn’t do that. She would be the door mat, if it made Katerina feel more at ease. She would be whatever her team needed her to be—Weak or strong.

When Blake apologized for not being present, she frowned at his tone. Guilt laced through soft eyes and she shook her head. “Hey…That wasn’t what I meant. You don’t need to apologize…I don’t blame you.”

A cynical part of her that she typically buried snidely questioned as to why he would want to stay around her in the first place. He was perfect. Perfect family, perfect life. Or as perfect as it could get with fairly bigoted family members… Whereas she was a train wreck. Danger and chaos followed her like a storm? How could she blame him for wanting to get away from all that?

“It’s just…The way things were. You helped a lot of people that really needed it. I could never be mad at you for that.”

Violence with violence… It made her remember the emotional conversation she’d had with Leo when he’d returned. She could remember the fight or flight look in his eyes and it wounded her still. All she wanted was for him to feel safe in a place with people who cared for him. “Leo made me promise not to do that… Not to respond to a threat the way he did.”

She didn’t say why. She didn’t explain that he’d unintentionally broken his promise to her. It was too private, her concept of right, wrong, and necessary still too raw. “He saved my life Blake... If he hadn’t of stepped in…I wouldn’t be here.”

Never once did she say Leo was in the wrong. Not once. Violence wasn’t the answer…Except when it was.

Her inner turmoil was placed on the back burner when Blake’s feelings became apparent. She felt pulled in a dozen different directions by his admission and didn’t know what to do with any of it. After waking up in the infirmary from being assaulted by a team member…She just didn’t have the emotional strength to fight. She was tired, drained, exhausted, and it felt like every piece of her had been smothered and walked on by the people she should have feared the least.

The apology he loathed was all she had. Watching him walk away…

Not for the first time she wanted to leave. What exactly did she stay with the X-Men for? She’d thought for friends, for the people that loved her, but it seemed more often than not it was just…Lies.

People wanted her for what she ‘could’ give them. Never for what she was.

Location: X-Men Facility - Holding Cells

Isabella sat with Leonardo for a few more hours despite his best efforts to ignore her or get her to leave. She wanted to give him a bit of peace and quiet from the shape shifter…But eventually she gave in. She didn’t understand but she did realize that was being selfish by staying when he didn’t want her there. She hoped that the Leo that she knew and cared for would come back to her. Not this frozen man that she couldn’t reach. He felt like he did in the field; a soldier that couldn’t stop. Wouldn’t stop, unless the mission was completed.

He either couldn’t feel how she cared for him or deliberately ignored it to maintain his isolation. She had so many questions…None of which she could ask.

In her time there she mostly spoke to herself. She hatched a few new game plans to deal with the mercenaries that SHIELD had employed. Leo was the person she would normally bounce ideas off of... It was all she could think of. Shop talk, work, kept her focused. She was sure that Scott had his own ideas on things…But where had his ideas gotten them last time? Up crap creek without a paddle. Eventually she noticed it was nearing dinner time and sighed…

A week ago she’d have been eating dinner with the man in the cell. Now…

She picked up the items she’d brought with her as well as the straight jacket she’d thrown. She opened her mouth to promise to come back later…But didn’t bother. He would just tell her not to come. If she didn’t say, he couldn’t tell her not to. Instead she said something else.

“I’m sorry. For what it’s worth… I’m so sorry for all of this. I should have been more careful. I shouldn’t have let my guard down like that. I—“, she stopped herself from continuing, refusing to let her emotions turn her words into a verbal hurricane. Isabella didn’t even know if he was hearing anything she said at all. But still…She tried. He was the only person she had left that she could trust. “…I could have tried to stop you…”

She paused then…Unsure of how she felt about the admission. She felt fear. Shame. Shame that she hadn’t even thought about it until later. She wouldn’t try and correct his failure for reasons that were left unsaid…But at the time when she’d been laying on the cold floor; some secret part of her had wanted him to end it.

                                        “I didn’t. I should have. But… I didn’t. What does that mean?”

She passed through the barrier that kept Leo imprisoned without waiting for an answer. It’s not like he was up to giving her anything coherent. The sound user flew past Katerina’s cell as fast as her feet could take her. The security door closed behind her and she sagged against the wall. She slid down slowly as her chest began to tighten, hitting the floor with a thud. For a few minutes she gave up on being the leader of the Alpha’s and cried. For a little bit, she was just a girl, and everything hurt. Loneliness was not something most would accuse her of suffering…But it was there. To be a leader of any kind was to be alone.

Isabella was just a little slow on the uptake. Do all things with love, good always wins, right is always the best course... It was all just bull s**t. Complete, and total s**t.

Eventually she fumbled with her new communicator and paged Scott. He answered, and she forced her voice to steady. She didn’t need Summers trying to shrink her right then.

“He didn’t hurt me. I told you he would never…But for now…”

Despite how she felt…If they let Leonardo out of the cell in this moment she was fairly certain he’d pick up where he’d left off. She couldn’t let her feelings for him cloud her judgement. The songstress choked on the words...

                                        “He stays.”

Location: X-Men Facility - Art Classrooms (SEVERAL HOURS LATER)

Usually a shower made her feel better. Not today. Dios mio, not today. She’d had three since leaving the infirmary but she couldn’t strike away the feeling of being dirty. She wasn’t allowed to train, wasn’t allowed to do much moving around yet, so what could she do? Scott sent her packing out of the war room even though she’d merely asked to observe. Go sleep, he said, go rest, he said. How could he expect her to do either?

She wandered the halls and eavesdropped on conversations at random. It wasn’t intentional. It simply happened. She could hear a party in the pool, people talking in the kitchen, and Katerina bitching incessantly in the basement. Something was happening in the greenhouse and a few others were plotting a visit to locked down shape shifter. It wasn’t a jail break—so she let it be. That was Professor McCoy’s problem not hers. Eventually she wandered into the art classrooms, intrigued by all the little voices giggling.

“ISABELLA!”, a booming voice caused her to tense as she was suddenly accosted by a large Russian man. It took her a second to realize she was being hugged. Embarrassed by his own reaction Colossus abruptly dropped the small brunette and scratched the back of his head. “Forgive me. I was only glad that you are well. How are you feeling?”

“Pretty good, all things considered.”, she responded with a slight smile, lying through her eye teeth. She looked around the room a little curious at all the many projects that were being worked on at the same time. “What’s going on?”

We are making the base beautiful. These walls are too boring for people. Do you want to help?”

Isabella was about to politely decline but the genuinely hopeful expression that Piotr Rasputin wore caused her to cave. “Sure.”

“Here, you come next to Orchid.”, he directed and shuffled her towards the dark haired Omega before she could say anything else. Colossus dropped her off and left her with a variety of mediums to choose from. She went with water colors. She couldn’t really think of anything happy to put on a canvas so she went with flowers. It was easy, simply, and quick.

“Hello.”, she greeted Orchid kindly, picking up a brush and dipping in the water. She really just…Didn’t know where to start. She didn’t feel like painting. She didn’t feel like doing anything at all.

Mild curiosity took her and she leaned over to see what the Omega was working on. “That looks really nice—“

She started off on auto-pilot, freezing when she realized she was looking at a good deal of the X-Women in the buff. Including herself. She blushed so hard she was stunned to silence and her cheeks remained fire engine red while she turned back to her own blank painting.

                                        …Dios Mio…

Unreal Tournament 3 OST - "Go Down[UT3 Remix]"

Opening and clenching his fists, Darien listening as the lava manipulator gave a firm no on the idea of burns working with his own mutation. "You're right, but even if I could use burns to get a boost, it'd probably be more trouble than it's worth in the end," he admitted with a small shrug of his shoulders. Watching his sparring partner equip himself with padding, he couldn't help but chuckle. "I've got nothing against protection, but bare-knuckle's much more fun. I'll suit up too, it's only fair."

Breaking his rhythmic bouncing, Darien went over to grab a set of forearm and shin pads. "Punishment's really the only fitting code-name for me, all things considered. What about you?”, Darien responded as he fastened his sparring gear and moved to take his place across from Dmitri on a mat. Taking a few moments, he bounced back in his rhythm, giving a friendly hand-wave toward himself to signal his partner to make the first move. His stance was relatively low, with an arm kept at around a forty-five degree from his side and up-front and the others' elbow relatively even with his back. He was more comfortable retaliating with hard strikes and occasional grapples, erring on the side of defense to find openings for vicious assaults.

-- A Few Hours Later --

Slightly panting with a grin, Darien used the back of an arm to wipe at his jaw. This was just what he needed to loosen up and get acquainted with the place. The bruises he got felt good, a bit deep and even though they had already started to visibly heal up a bit it felt like a breath of fresh air for him. "We should do this again sometime. Haven't had this much fun in a while," he called out, lowering his stance and extending out a hand to Dmitri for a show of sportsmanship.

                                                                  ------ Time Skip ------

Daylia had never really minded being around Narcissa. The sunbeam was at times harsh, there was no denying it, but most had learned to live with it. Had they simply run into each other, D wouldn’t have been so uncomfortable, but as it stood, there were many reasons why she was ready to take the defensive. Not only was the mission still on her mind, but the order to come alone did not seem to sit too well with the faux redhead.

The small talk, or what she had assumed to be small talk didn’t help the situation any. She had attempted to correct her statements, or at least the ones that had come out more like questions.
"Yeah it is." She responded, her eyes watching the nail polish rather than her team lead. "But I guess it could be worse. We came here to be safe, and that’s better than being locked up in a six by eight." If they even allowed mutants that much space.

The silence stretched between the two, making Daylia’s paranoia grow. She did her best to fight it off, but in the end her will power gave. She did her best to explain why she had the thoughts she did.
"Ehh, maybe, but for all of the wrong reasons." She said, a small smile touching her lips. She listened as the sun queen continued, nodding along silently.

The words ‘huh’ and ‘ahh’ unintelligently escaped her mouth as Narcissa continued to expel the thoughts that she had about the mission. So Kerri went against orders, the newbies shouldn’t have been put into that situation, and they were all children to the sun goddess.
"Gotcha, so I was just being paranoid." She said with a nod. It wouldn’t have been the first time she was overly worried about being the cause of something, and she was sure it wouldn’t be the last. She almost opened her mouth to interject again, but decided against it. How was she supposed to know there was no other choice?

A single brow rose as the blond continued. It was difficult to imagine the woman not going after the new wave of MRD’s versus turning tail to join, what Daylia thought of as, a pitiful group. With the sluggish wolf and Daylia being down, she couldn’t imagine they would have stood a better chance against a sentinel than a lone Cissa. No, she was absolutely sure it would have spelled disaster for all of them, especially trying to keep the lame out of harm's way. Either way, she didn’t question the ‘necessity’ of the situation.
"Got it." She said, holding up her free hand palm towards her team lead.

Daylia would never dare question her leader on ‘necessity,’ after all that would only be inviting trouble into her life. Before she could interject further, Cissa changed the subject, getting to the real reason she had called the Chameleon to meet her. Daylia blanched at the Sun Goddesses words, her mouth gaping like a fish as she struggled to understand the words that had spewed from the blonds mouth.

A few moments ticked by before the faux redhead came back to herself, at least slightly as the tried to make some sort of coherent sentence. The string of emotional turmoil was unavoidable for the young woman as she tried to grasp the reason behind the other woman's thinking.
"Do I look like the kind of person who would just sleep with people?" She asked more laughter bursting forth in the emotional whirlwind. Just because she may have been bored didn’t mean she would just sleep with people.

Of course the ridiculousness of the question was almost amusing at first, at least until she sobered, remembering prom night with Dimitri. Anger flashed through her eyes at the thought of the man spreading rumors about their situation. The thought had gotten to her so much that she had forgotten the fresh polish job Narcissa had completed.

Her jaw was tight as she looked down to her nails as Cissa snatched up her arm. The muscles in her jaw flexed for a moment as she tried to subdue the anger she felt towards the Alpha.
"Sorry." She mumbled, avoid eye contact with the blond. "I just..." She said before making an angry frustrated sound. Instead of her fingers contracting this time, they flared apart with the anger. Unfortunately she missed the entrance of one of the new Alpha’s, Lynette. With the furry rising she had even forgotten Luke's presence.

And to think, she was actually coming around the the playboy. Not that she had ever expected any sort of relationship, just some sort of friendship. She did her best to follow the advice given, though as her foot bounced it was apparent that the patient was not going to come easily.
"What a ******** d**k." She muttered under her breath, as she tried to focus on what Narcissa was doing.

However it was not distracting enough.
"Any idea on how many other people think I’m expecting?" She asked, her voice still tight with ire.

Her eyes were torn away from the polish as another person interrupted them. The glare she gave the poor fella was not meant for him, but there was little she could do to mask it. She snorted at his question, but said nothing as she returned her glare back to her nails, waiting for the Sun Queen to shoot the boy down. It was obvious enough that he was not an Omega.

                                                                  ------ Time skippy thingy ------

After being dismissed from the bonding session, Daylia had made her way back to her room, plotting the entire way Dimitri’s downfall. Gracie had tagged along as well, after coming out of her hidden position amongst the foliage. She was trying to calm down slightly, knowing it wouldn’t be wise to find him right away. Unfortunately she couldn’t distract herself from the rolling rage that filled the pit of her stomach.

Gracie was no help as she snickered.
"Well, you have officially replaced Bella's-near-death-experience as the chat over the watercooler."

She stopped in her pacing to look at her friend.
"Not helping." She said as she shook her head. Then again, she doubted Gracie would stop her from the current mission to knock out pretty boys teeth. "I actually thought he was going to turn out to be an okay guy." She said bitterly, internally shaming herself in the process.

"I have to find him." She said as her fist clenched and unclenched. With little left to be said, she made her way out of her room, Gracie tagging right alongside her.

After stopping to ask a few people where the boy was, they got intel that he was in the gym area. She should have figured that that's where the boy was hiding out. She made a beeline for the seventh floor, hoping to catch the Alpha before he left. Anger flared anew as she caught sight of the poor fella.

"Dimitri, you p***k!" She called out. She didn’t even bother to look around the room to take inventory on who was there with him. It didn’t matter to her, at least not in that moment. If someone else had stupidly decided to jump in, she had back up in the form of Gracie. The Playboy must have just finished sparring, as he shook hands with another boy.

Her hand was already balled into a fist as she stomped across the floor towards her target. As she drew close enough she drew back her hand, aiming for a shot at his pretty little face.
"How ******** dare you!" She said as she let her fist fly.

After it made contact, she drew her hand back, shaking off the pain of striking someone.
"I can’t believe you!" She shouted as she cradled her hand to her chest. Oh that was going to smart later. "Why the hell would you tell people we slept together?!" She demanded.

                                                                      User Image

                                                    The Omegas: The Library
                                                    |1017|

"If you find a man that's worth a damn and treats you well.
Then he's a fool, you're just as well, hope it gives you hell.
I hope it gives you hell.
Tomorrow you'll be thinking to yourself.
Yeah, where did it all go wrong?
But the list goes on and on."

“You never know, I might be wounded over something so small. I’m pretty petty.” It was true in some cases, the most obvious one being Roland, but not all. “Now now, I’m not just trying to get into your pants, that’s just the consolation prize.” He did actually enjoy joking with her, similar to Raine. It wasn’t something where he felt like his time was wasted by interacting with them in the least bit. And really, it wasn’t like he expected to get into her pants these days.

Aurelie was not above accepting his help obviously as he mentioned being a help in getting her in to see her friend. A smirk found it’s way to his face as she was quick to reword the way she stated she would owe him a favor. “I’ll hold you to that, just be ready for something unexpected. That’s all I’ll say, but it won’t be anything “dirty” since you’re a prune, so no worries.” No, he had more sinister plans for this favor in the future, it was just a matter of nailing down what he wanted it to be.

Calling her out on staring, it was definitely for a different reason than he made it appear. “Uh huh, whatever you say blondie.” He spoke in reference to her quick statement, before stopping that conversation to nail down an alibi. Hailing Aren, it was long before he responded. It was a little surprising to hear Raine was with him, but not terribly so. “Oh, in that case we might have to abandon the plan, see’s terrible with secrets. Add blondie to the list though.” He said, knowing full well she was hearing him.

At the mention of some tv show, Felix sighed. “Never even heard of it. Tiny, I expect the cliffnotes on the show if it ever comes up. I mean honestly, chances are none of the staff have seen it anyway, but still.” Giving it time, as if he was done speaking to them, he decided to add a little something else. “You know brownie, you’re barking up the wrong tree. Rumors around the base are Tiny bats for the other team. And honestly, I thought you had better taste than that.” With that finished, he smirked to Aurelie.

Her words were met with a roll of his eyes. “Oh please, like you are even remotely hard to handle. And honestly, you seem to remember that conversation falsely, because the two of you did not in the least bit get the upper hand. If you want to remember falsely, however, be my guest.” Feeling someone sliding a hand across his shoulders, Felix shot a curious glance over his shoulder. Seeing August, Felix let him speak and Aurelie respond before saying anything himself.

“You show up early to get a piece of the action. Early bird gets the worm and all.” The second part of his statement was met with mock disappointment. “Now now, you really shouldn’t talk about blondie like that. She’s a person, not some kind of sex object. Shame on you.” Next the topic turned to his use of blondie to refer to Aurelie and how it apparently made August want to hold him down while Aurelie pummeled on him. The telekinetic responded that she thought he didn’t know how to pronounce her name.

“Firstly, that’s very true, I totally can’t pronounce Aurelie, it’s soooo hard to do.” The statement was practically oozing with sarcasm. “Secondly, I am offended that you would think blondie is anything but a term of endearment.” With a look of mock disappointment, he decided to deal with the last part of August’s statement last. “Thirdly, you have to catch me to hold me down, and even if you did, blondie is entirely too weak for it to matter. And lastly, I’m flattered, but to take a page out of blondie’s book, you couldn’t handle all this man in front of you. You're just a little boy, so stick to the kiddie rides before trying to ride an advanced ride. Rumor is Aren is batting for your team though.”

It took a lot to phase the speedster, and August certainly hadn’t been the first to hit on him. Granted it hadn’t happened in quite awhile. As Aurelie invited August to join them, Felix gave him a once over. “What exactly can you do to be of any kind of help?” Felix didn’t personally know the man, so he was genuinely curious. Hearing a slammed book drew the speedster’s attention to the approaching Magda.

Hearing the woman’s words brought a look of shock to Felix’s face. “Wait… This is a library? I never would have guessed with all the books around. If you want us to shut the ******** up though, you should really look to yourself. You’re being much louder than we are.” Rolling his eyes, her saying it was him was enough for him to give an inner chuckle. Yeah, he tended to have that effect on people, it was a talent really.

Hearing the rest of it was enough for him to give a fake sigh of exasperation. “You know, it wouldn’t be me you would be screwing over by not providing an alibi. It would be little ole blondie here. Look at that face, how can you say no to it?” Pausing to gesture towards her he continued with a mischievous smirk. “Honestly though, I’ll just insist you were in on it. Chances are Scott wouldn’t have a hard time believing it, so really you might as well just help.” As the woman made the inquiry, Felix smirked.

“We’re going to cause some mischief. The end goal is getting her in to see her bestie, but honestly it’s the journey and trouble that will be fun. You in? Or would you rather go back to your boring day of book reading?” Asking the question with a curious glance, he was sure that the boredom would win over in the end. He honestly thought most of the people on base would jump at the chance to break the monotony.

(OOC: PM me if I missed something. Leaving the timeskip stuff to Bun.)

"Truth be told I miss you.
And truth be told I'm lying.
                                                    When you see my face.
Hope it gives you hell, hope it gives you hell.
                                                    When you walk my way.
Hope it gives you hell, hope it gives you hell."

“I get the feeling that she is incapable of feeling anything,” Alice bit back at Blake’s statement about Bella. She might not of felt the same way, which everyone has those feelings. But Blake didn’t seem that subtle about it. There was no way she didn’t know. Or if she didn’t, then she had to be an idiot. Either way, Blake was better off. Alice knew that much. There was no way in hell that her best friend was going to be wrapped around some b***h from hell’s finger.

She took a long drink from her glass, watching as Blake dove face first into his own thoughts. She was going to have to shovel more shots into him to get him up and over this mountain of emotion. She flagged the bartender to give them another round before Blake spoke up again.
“Oh ******** no. Don’t you dare give me that self-pity bullshit. You’re not broken, Blake Tanner. She’s the one that is screwed up.” She took a drink to calm the fire that was igniting her soul before she ripped the band off and took out half the bar in a blind rage because some stick with tits broke her bestie’s heart.

“The only thing that needs fixing is your achy-breaky heart, Billy Ray. Which means we need more alcohol.”

Moments after that, the confrontation of a lifetime happened. And before she knew it, fights were breaking out all across the bar. She was kicking a**. Blake was kicking a**. And it was great. Until it was over. She straightened her clothes and raised a hand to a bouncer that wanted to grab her by the scruff and throw her out the door behind Blake. Walking out willingly, she caught up with Blake just as he was cursing the damn place for throwing them out.

“Easy there, Tex, you’ll definitely feel it tomorrow if you keep this up. Your old man joints can’t handle this much excitement.”

As they hopped from bar to bar, an they had one incident with some junior paparazzi, Alice was happy to be nestled into a corner. It was a simple place, sometimes the karaoke was good, other times it was downright awful. Like William Hung style bad. She sighed, “You think they’ll end up in the papers tomorrow?” Not that she really cared. Honestly, if papers wanted to make something out of nothing then it would be fun to see them chase their tails for a while.

Maybe she should have removed the bracelet that was nulling her powers. Snapped that camera, film and all. Shouldn’t they be covering more important s**t, like how kids died, mutant or not, in the attack on the school? Or are they being blamed for that, too? Like the situation at the mall. Alice’s hand tightened around her glass before she brought it, white knuckled, to her lips and took a long drink.

“As if you could resist my charm,” Alice shot back at him. That was one thing that would probably hold solid like stone. Alice and Blake knew each other too well. Knew how ******** up each one of them was, and they knew that they would never be anything more than what they were now. It’d be too weird. They were two completely different people. No, if Alice wanted to find some guy to distract her, she’d have to find one that was a little less of a diplomat that wanted world peace. Not to mention that in one wrong move, she could kill most men that even shown the slightest bit of interest.

Alice’s brain snapped from her own mind at the mention of pizza. Her eyes looked to the money and then to the waitress, who seemed apprehensive until she saw the wad of cash that Blake had left. Alice smirked,
“Just no anchovies.” She didn’t care, she wasn’t really the picky type. The waitress disappeared moments later, the wads of cash in her hand.

Once they were full, Alice stumbled alongside Blake, slipping in through the door of the hotel. She swiped the key from the concierge once it was handed to them and worked her way to one of the elevators, pushing the up button and waiting.

“I’m going to feel like dog s**t tomorrow.” The pizza helped, but it wasn’t going to absorb her hangover. She needed a shower and about a half gallon of cold water. At least she was going to get one of those things tonight.

Once they reached the room, she slid the keycard into the door and waited for the stupid green light to flash before pushing the door open. At least this one worked. Half the time they didn’t. Alice flicked on the lights to the room, looking around it before walking to the AC unit and turning it on to cool the air in the room faster.

“You wanna shower before crashing, or can I take it first?” If she had been planning on getting so drunk, she would have probably packed a change of clothes. At least her tank top was a comfortable one. Oh well, going commando tomorrow once she was back into her jeans wasn’t going to be a problem at all. She plopped down one of the beds, bouncing on it slightly. “At least the bed is more comfortable than my own back at base.”

Alice looked down at the bracelet that was nulling her abilities for a long moment before pulling it off over her hand and setting it on the nightstand. She flexed her fingers,
“That’s better. I hate wearing those things. Makes me feel weak and pathetic.” She leaned down, unzipping her boots and sliding them off.

This is a fight for love, lust, hate, desire

Tᴇᴀᴍ Aʟᴘʜᴀ :: Fᴇᴇʟɪɴɢ Nervous :: Lᴏᴄᴀᴛɪᴏɴ Kitchen ::
Cᴏᴍᴘᴀɴʏ Alex, Gabriel, Charlotte, Some kind of juice bending ninja guy and a pretty couple :: Wᴇᴀʀɪɴɢ This :: Iɴ Hᴇʀ Hᴇᴀᴅ So many cool people... ::

Subconsciously maybe Collin did mean to squish her construct after all. This was really the first time outside of class she had used it, and more importantly "showing it off" to the others. This power wasn't like the moment when someone shows off they can touch their tongue to their elbow- she can do that too but that's not the point- it was exhibited powers that if she was being completely honest with herself, was afraid of. She just wasn't completely comfortable around a lot of people seeing her power, sure a few people and she would start dancing to It's Tricky but more people coming around made it feel like...well she could explain it. Best way to describe would be crippling fear but to be around all of these other mutants, mutants that had control and confidence- there was no way she could express any of this to them. The mood in the room was too upbeat for any of that kinda talk. She did notice that Gabriel had re-focused on his weapons and- while they made her incredibly nervous- she did think,'He must be really skilled to do all that so quick...' He had seen what she had done with her powers and thus showed his in return. She was taken back in utter awe by what was happening to his arm it was like it became a living weapon. He talked of strain on his body and she could clearly tell, but for some reason she wanted to reach out and feel it. Was his arm completely gone? Her hand twitched as he recluses the metal back and she jerked her hand into her jacket pocket. He gave a sudden farewell to them as he left the kitchen. He seemed like the kind of person that liked being alone, but at the same time someone who enjoyed company...these people were confusing.

The boy she had called a ninja prior to showing her powers attempted to joke about being one of those character you'd least suspect in a story or game- honestly she wasn't really into video games or hyper-fantasy books but maybe he meant something else? It clicked that she was thinking too much about it and decided to silently chuckle. The movement and expression was there, but the joy was silent. He as well as Alex complimented her powers, causing to become a little bashful and look at a the ground. The boy answered her question of his powers by casually floating a glob of juice from the cup he had been drinking out of. She smirked silently giggling again as he played with shapes and forms of the liquid in a similar fashion to how she did with her sonokinetic energy mass. Then he skinned a apple with the liquid. She was shocked, the liquid that was handled so playfully suddenly turned vicious on the fruit. He called it Hydrokinesis, a power she actually had heard about. She knew it was one of the main forms of elemental control like Pyrokinesis (she caught a video of someone using that on the internet). Alex called her ability Sensory adaption. She wasn't very aware of what it did based on it's name, but she quickly explained it and honestly it sounded totally awesome. She made it sound like it was an invisible ability, something that would be really helpful on missions and stuff for the X-Men, but then she mentioned not using it often. Collin got the reasoning behind not wanting to use it, but she still wanted to see it, maybe it could do something for her? She gave an example of what would happen with music and dog hearing, and Collin spurt a little trying not to laugh. The comparison reminded her of a time back home. Trying her best not to completely laugh she typed into her phone and held it towards Alex,
“Haha Sorry I know what you mean reminds of something that happened with a chihuahua XD,” she didn't really want to get into the story but it was a good one to share for another time.

She felt a little more at ease with how open everyone was about their powers, it was nothing like this back home. Her friends didn't know about her powers and her mother felt uncomfortable with them in the house- it was only her brother that acted so carefree and relaxed when he powers "turned on". Alex talked about music allows her to relax,
”Good point maybe that's why I got this one? Your powers sound really cool Alex ;3”She didn't know at all how the genetics of the X-Gene worked but it couldn't have been coincidence that she- who was working on becoming a DJ with her friends and loved listening to records in her room would get a power like this right? Alex was starting to offer some things to the others. Coffee wasn't really her thing but she did reach for a slice of toast- nothing like a piece of toast soaked with butter to make a good treat. Toast in mouth she couldn't help but stare at the girl floating over their way. Despite being in a room full of mutants she wasn't going to get used to this...The floaty girl introduced herself as Eden, but with her hands covered in toast she didn't reach for her phone and signed out her name, "C-o-l-l-i-n." The Hydrokinesis boy introduced himself as Marcel, it sounded like he forgot to say it earlier, but that was okay. She pushed the last of toast into her mouth and wiped her hands on a napkin so she could type,”Nice too meet you Marcel....” she separated the type and wrote, ”You as well Eden hello!” Back to the subject she loudly quietly asked about before she took all of their advice on the matter into account and typed in the request, ”It sounds dangerous but I would like to see the danger room at least? Do I need to ask Mr.Summers for permission? I'm just a limp noodle so maybe I should just see the place for now ^^;” Like the emoticon at the end of the message she produced quite the nervous look with a laughing face but her brow furrowed into a worried curve.
