Lady Aryana of the Seelie

The queen looked amongst her people then nodded.

Very well. We will start our efforts to put them to rest on the morrow. But they are big beings; we will all need rest, and the night is not safe. Go to your homes, go to your families, and gather here tomorrow to help bring peace to our beloved neighbors.

The siren turned fox bowed as people started to scatter, swimming back to their homes. Soon there was Silvia, her friends, her mother, and the fox left.

Thank you, Siren Denka. She said respectfully with a bow.

The queen smiled. You wish to honor the noble creatures they were, as do we. The Queen turned her gaze to Sybil. Sybil! Can you show our new friend to a room in the palace?

Sybil nodded respectfully to the queen. "Of course." she turned to their guest and took her hand. "Come with me, I know just the room." she said, leaning her into one of the many round, tube-like hallways.
The building was a catacomb of tunnels that lead further into an intricate maze of rooms. Upward lead to the towers, by there were not for living in. As tough as coral could be, it was not quite protected enough. Residencies were always placed deeper, where the coral was older and stronger. Light from the moon did not reach here. But the way was lit by a long glowing streak along the ceiling.
"If there is anything you need, just ask. And I recommend not going anywhere until you know the tunnels well enough. It's easy to get turned around." she said.
The room she found was like a large sweet. The curtains were a fabricate weaved from different plants in swirling colors. All kinds of object decorated the shelves and the ceiling was aglow with patterns like the stars. Everything she could need was here in this room.
"I hope you will feel at home here."

The fox nodded quietly, swimming into the room and looking around. Her eyes flocked about at all the items, the glowing star-like patterns, everything.

She turned and bowed.

I have not introduced myself. She said. I am known as Rakia. Thank you so much for your hospitality. I would act more grateful... but I am in a great deal of pain. This is the second peoples I have seen wiped out before my very eyes. It is... it is hard.

((I'm...not very good with fighting scenes. But I tried! I left things open ended so the Merlin can react and you can choose whether her attacks are hitting/affecting or not.))

Sarakshi fought as fiercely as she could, the muscles in her snake’s body rippling with power as she agilely slithered around, her snakes snapping and spitting at the Merlin, attempting to bite his hands and wrists as they were locked on the staff.

She used her tail to swing at him as well, trying to knock him off balance, or jolt his arm so that he would lose his grip on the staff or better still, it’d hit those glasses right off his face and he’d get the full effects of her glare. She had more venom building and was prepared to spit again as soon as it was ready, hoping that would weaken him.

Sarakshi continued to battle her foe, her skin crawled at being so close to the dark presence but she resisted the urge to recoil in revulsion and kept fighting, heedless of how much time passed. He was strong but she was holding her end well, trying to find a way to overpower or throw him off. It seemed they would be locked in this struggle forever, but then sometimes she seemed to be gaining some ground, and then he’d retaliate and so it went, back and forth. Sarakshi had the feeling he was holding back, just toying with her, or maybe Alfer was struggling against the dark thing that wanted to destroy her. She could feel venom begin to drip down he fangs and Sarakshi spat again, but he had murmured some incantation…

Sybil nodded. "It's nice meeting you Rakia.... I wish it were under better circumstances." she said softly. She looked down again at her hands, trying to decide if she should leave or bother her with her questions. She grabbed at the thin intricate metal chain around her neck.
"If you would like, I could guide you around our home tomorrow. You should probably get some rest." she said, opting to leave the poor woman to herself for a little while. There was always tomorrow....
Or maybe there wasn't.
The thought was an unnerving one. Too much to think on now.

I would appreciate that. She said. She bowed her head as Sybil left.

She swam to the bed and curled up on it, falling asleep. She did not remove her armor or her blade.

Night fell, and morning came. It was unusually quiet that morning, and understandably so, as everyone prepared to help bring the bodies of the Minos home so that they might rest in peace.

They gathered in the throne room, the entirety Cantoa, the siren city, to help with the effort. The fox was not there... either she had gotten lost in the halls or was waiting for someone to come get her in her room...

Sybil swam quickly down the hall to Rakia's room. She didn't expect to get pulled away by anything, but she was asked to help gather things for the search. If she had known she would have awoke sooner.
It the fox-woman-siren's room she peeked it. "Rakia! Good. I am so sorry I didn't came sooner. Are you ready?" she said in a rush. "Every able tail has gathered in the throne room." she said, waving away a strand of hair that flowed in front of her face.

The fox was already awake, and had been casting a spell of some sort. It glowed, and seemed to affect her armor. She looked up when Sybil swam in.

It is okay. She said, swimming up the Sybil, her own red hair swirling about in the water around her. Lead the way.

Sybil had braided her blonde hair loosely behind her. The long tail, bobbed behind her as she swam back through the halls. The sunlight grew brighter as they made it too the main halls. It wouldn't be long until they reached the throne room.
"Last night you said that this was the second race you saw die.... Who was the first?" she asked gently.

There was a long moment before she answered.

... My own kind. I was outside my homeland when it happened. When I returned, it was all up in flames. I couldn't get in... I was too young to get in and help, get people out... She looked down at the floor as she swam, falling silent. From the expression on her face, the question had brought up a clearly painful memory...

Sybil laid a hand on her arm. "I am so sorry. I shouldn't have asked." she said. But the idea weighed on her mind heavily. This was deliberate as Rakia said, but why? Why commit mass genocide? And would they be attacked.
She put the thoughts aside for now as they entered the throne room.

The Queen was organizing everyone into teams. Some would stay behind and keep watch over the city. There were dozens of teams of sirens for going out and finding the bodies.

The Queen looked over and saw the two. Rakia looked up as she gestured to Rakia and Sybil with a lightly scaled hand.

With a flick over her tail the fox was already over to her.

I will help participate in the search efforts. I have people looking over the city. I would like you two to work with me and my group. She said.

The fox nodded.

The queen looked to everyone and sang a note; a note that among irens meant dismissal. The Sirens scattered as one, staying with their teams, leaving the handful of sirens, and the fox, that Sybil, Rakia, and the queen was part of. She smiled, and the queen lead the way out of the palace.

The Merlin shifted his grip on his staff, and as Sarkashi's hands bit at his hands, she found some of them ended up biting at thin air that felt hard as stone, while only one managed to break through this invisible defense to bit his hand. It oozed venom, but his incantation held steady, making him immune to her venom.

When she swung at his legs with her tail he finally broke the staff-spear lock and he jumped backward. He landed hard; she could see him fighting the shadow every inch of the way. But she rushed forward to come at him, and he blocked her strikes with his staff, twirling it like a bo-staff and beating each strike with his own.

When she went to spit again he threw his arms up, and his beard and clothes started to float as if suspended in water. The venom hit what seemed to be an invisible barrier, and it dripped off the round surface...

Seeing that her venom appeared useless against him now as he wasn't showing any side effects and seemed to have made a magic shield, she switched tactics. Sarakshi was looking for weak points on his person with keen eyes. She spotted a few, but it was difficult to get to them.

Slithering her banded tail round behind him, Sarakshi continued to attack with the spear, though he expertly blocked every hit. She was trying to wind her coils around him so she could squeeze him or trip him up, attempting to wind her tail around his legs. Once wrapped around, her idea was to try pulling him and put him off balance but if she could, she would constrict the life out of him.

She kept attacking, trying to jolt the glasses off his face. Damn, his arms were so brawny they were like rods of steel, holding that staff up in place. Abruptly, she used her spear to try to strike at his elbow joint to hopefully weaken one hand's grip on the staff.

She found that her banded tail coiled what appeared to be a phere shaped shield made of some kind of rubbery stuff. Her tail couldn't slide through it, tough it seemed... thin, for a spell cast by the Arcmage. Once she felt her tail encircle it she knew of Rakia using the same spell to get quickly from one place to another quickly (it seemed rather fun, actually). But this one wasn't nearly as thick as Rak's...

Infact, his blocks seemed to be protecting not him but the barrier! Was it that weak?

When she went to strike at his elbow she managed to jolt through his guard and it did indeed pop like a soap bubble. The Merlin's eyes narrowed behind the glasses and he wrenched her spear to the side with his staff before loosing a flash of light from the staff at her chest.

((Posting! In between all the dramaaaa. Are you proud of me? cat_xd Lol.))

Sarakshi shoved at the sphere, she pushed at it and squeezed it and even slapped her tail against it but it would not give. This spell, it reminded her of something she'd seen Rakia use. Why was it so flimsy?

"Ssss! Cunning villian! But you won't win! Ssssomething will ssstop you in the end. Good alwayssss..." she trailed off with a smirk and a flicker of her slimy forked tongue. "Well, why don't I let you find out what happensss to the evil onesss?"

She was surprised for a second when the attack to the elbow caused the protective bubble to pop. A surge of victory sparked through her! Could she...was it possible she could find a way to defeat him? She cried out as the spear was wrenched painfully from her grasp, and her snakes spat venom at their foe in pure ire, aiming it towards his face. Those malevolent narrowed eyes. She reeled back when the blast of light sank into her chest, a pained scream shrilling forth as she clutched at her chest. Heavy, glacial cold resonated where the blow had hit and she'd had no way to dodge in such close quarters. She had managed to dodge other blows throughout the battle; kicks, swings and jabs from the staff, but not this.

Her serpentine tail whooshed up with intent to slam into his left side, intent to send him sprawling over on his back! Her middle coils tried to loop up and over his neck. She had a long, flexible body and she could wind around anything. Cutting off his air supply might take some of the fight out of him. And if she turned to stone, he'd be trapped. Helena had to try.
