Matt thought about the fact that he had yet to use any of his one a day holidays back to the regular world. He guessed he just really had no need to, there was nothing back there that he really needed at the moment. Actually maybe one day he would go and think about buying some sweets that he hadn't had, or even a new medical book. Or medical tools oh yes those would be nice. For a moment there was a look of stupidity as she mentioned the library. How did he not think about going there? Kasi just laughed at him as his face grew red.

Then the whole monster messed occurred before he could even thank her for the invitation of borrowing one of her books.

One minute he was staring at some large mass with sharp pointy teeth, the next moment he was sitting back at the table with Kasi around his neck. For a second he started to doubt if he had even just seen the creature that tried to devour them, but there was a tear along the seam of his coat on the sleeve and he could tell his hair was undone. He was afraid to even look at his pants, good chances were the bottoms were torn and stained. s**t... this was his only suit. Looking at Tori she seemed ok, her dress on the other hand looked as if it would never be able to be worn again unless repaired. A feeling of guilt sort of settled in to Matt, it was a shame that it had gotten ruined but at least she was ok.

"Reading is a good hobby, you learn a lot from it, I like to read when I can." Matt replied with a smile, unsure of what to say. It didn't sound like she had an awesome life before hand and he didn't want to question her on it unless she wanted to say it. "But I am glad you are ok. I mean not that I couldn't help if you were but you know what I mean," he replied picking up the fork and poking at the food that was back on his plate. There was a question if he could actually eat it at this point.

Nerd... so lame Matt. Kasi replied sneering at the fact he was still talking to her.

No, Peyton was not really okay, but it wasn't the Kraken that had shaken her. Evan didn't know that, and Gnat could only guess at what had happened based on the tear in her dress. She flicked her gaze up to Lucky again, watching him over her plate as she chewed numbly on whatever it was she'd originally ordered. She couldn't even remember anymore, and honestly she didn't care.

The sympathetic smile had been caught though as she turned back to her fellow Sun's, and she dipped her head in a small nod of acknowledgement. Then he was ordering them bourban, and the dainty hunter blinked, first at the marine, then the waiter as the glass was set down before her. Dropping her fork, she leaned forward to grab it, hesitating briefly when her torn dress gaped to show a long oval of tanned skin. Releasing Gnat's hand she grabbed either side of the tear to hold it closed, snatched her drink off the table, and sipped at it.

It was strong, and she didn't usually like the taste of liquor, but the promise of calmed nerves helped get her past the burn in her throat. "Thank you, Evan." Not even a hint of her usual sass.

A second ago he was hiding from the monster...trying not to be eaten or poisoned or what have you. The next? They were all seated once more... and there was food in front of them again.

Quinn frowned.

Looking around, his eyes fell upon the outfits of his fellow hunters. They had cuts and scrapes, their outfits not as immaculate as they once were. No, something had certainly happened and no amount of amazing food and jolly captains could cover that up.

Either way he listened to what the older hunters were saying, and dug into the food once more while he had the chance.

Nevada narrowed her eyes, "you're just saying that to get my unwanted food." She pushed the plate towards him, "and it worked, enjoy my friend."

Heidi shivered as Tuck touched her back, settling more comfortably in her seat. She completely missed the look Gnat was giving them. "Who knows~." She shrugged, rearranging herself so she was leaning against Tuck. She picked at the food in front of her. "What's weird for us now might be completely normal later."

She leaned forward to check on Mimsy before she settled against Tuck again. "I'm tired. Will they let us leave or do we have to stay.." Though they hadnt had dessert yet. Maybe dessert would make up for this weirdness...

Rep tried not to look as worried as he felt at the prospect of Excalibur not being able to protect them. Would that mean losing their weapons? The idea of being a normal human again to him was irreversably tied up to that old life before the island and it's old incompatible opinions, it had been a survival response and left weaponless he worried it would be where he would end up again.

"Aye that wasn't like, really reassuring." he took a deep breath. "But no more room for worries in my ******** head. The future's always like really up in the air for us anyway."

"Tastes pretty good actually." Ofelia seemed no worse for the wear over everything which might have been a sign to be worried. Either the redhead was just off kilter enough to not notice or she was entirely too well adjusted for her own good. It didn't matter though as she chowed down on what was before her, trying to figure out the flavors. "Dunno what they put in somma this stuff though, kinda curious. Ah guess when we get back ta Deus Ah wanna try makin' lamb on mah own."

Finally turning to actually look at the people she was talking to Ofelia noticed their meals. ".....not hungry guys? Ya should eat, get yer strength an' stuff up." There was a weird air to how she spoke. "No way on Earth all'a that was a dream, nope. Not if we're here, nope." The Sun hunter sounded so sure of herself as she bit into her dessert and thoughtfully chewed. "So eat up, an' lemme know whatcha like. Ah'll try an' recreate it when we get back, okay?" There was cheer there, a creepy edge of it. Ofelia's stomach hurt though.

She hated anything that wasn't real or couldn't be real. Illusions made her head hurt, made her stomach hurt, and the way Rue was cackling did her no favors.

"S'true. Ya got that badass look goin'." Otto defended, taking the plate from her without reservations.

He pointedly ignored the fact they'd all been through something that seemingly didn't happen to anyone else. It brought back Nam flashbacks if he let it. Instead, he ate Nevada's meal.

Waste not!

In the middle of the attack -- strange colors, strange voices reverberated throughout his head -- before exploding into brilliant color, with bemused hunters all across the hall. It took him another moment to gather his bearings, but another to realize that he was had been flung upside down against a wall, sprawled ungracerully. When he straightened himself to stand upright, he received another punch by Alaska. "What the hell?" He spoke outloud, holding a hand to his temples. "I need a drink." He called over one of the waiters, having apparently gotten over his motion sickness.

There was no denying what had happened according to their clothes. 'It's not simply in your mind either.. His weapon remembered it as well. But the ship and its people didn't seem affected at all? "WHat is this? A ghost ship or something?" He muttered to himself.

"Oh well.." There was no time to ponder over things with delicious food sitting in front of them. Pulling out a chair, he settled himself into it pretty relaxedly. It wasn't that he had no table manners but a very, very loose sense of table manners. "Time to go back to eating. Make sure to eat all of it Alaska. Who knows what'll come next?"

After a few moments of staring at the table, Fedora decided to try a little bit of food.

I don't want you wasting away, child.

Staring at her bracelet, she let out another sigh and attempted to control her breathing, her wide eyes revealing that she wasn't okay. Did things like this happen all the time? Were they to just go on, as if nothing happened?

Was she supposed to get used to this? Was this supposed to be a new family for her?

Family. The word brought tears to her eyes, and she forcibly blinked them away. No, she couldn't think about that now. Fedora shoved food in her mouth to try to attempt to cover up her emotions.

Tori was not worried too much about her dress as it could be fixed at least she hadn't gotten eaten as that is how one of her dresses got wrecked and at least she could go out to get another one at a later time if need be. "It is as its way more useful than what the other thinking I had to learn like learning how to properly dance or how properly talk with people," Tori replied as she poked at her food wondering if it was even real or not she could tell and just wondering on how much to tell Matt about her past.

Aklin spoke as she just sighed a little.

"Well all I want to say about my past right now is that my parents were very well off and this cruse to them is the norm," Tori said quietly were only he could hear or at least she hoped. Since Tori didn't know how other would react to what she has been in her past as her present was way more important to her, since she was in control.

"I am too, as I really don't like things that have tentacles," she answered shivering slightly at remembering that Antarctica mission. "Don't worry and I know what you mean as we can also do some training together as it would be a good idea,"

"Deal with things as they happen, I guess," Jordan agreed. He straightened his jacket, grimacing a little at the long tear in the sleeve. "I liked this suit," he grumbled.

"That is um. Certainly a weapon you have there." Lawr said, noticing Jerry's presence at the table again, thankfully sans the terrifying bazooka he'd been firing mere moments before.

At the mention of swimming he took on a momentary glazed look of terror. "I am very glad that that there has been no swimming at all, I don't want to tempt the threads of fate twice. I'm only even alive at all at this point because I turned out to be better at swimming than I thought I would be."

He didn't grudge the other man his choice of beverage at all.

Following the others examples, she poked and nibbled at a bit of the food, before pushing the plate away. "You know.. I'm not really hungry anyways." Besides, with whatever was going on with this place, she was kind of put off by it all.

Instead of eating, she reached back around her chair to pull the jacket she had brought with her on, in attempt to cover the worst of the tattered look of her outfit.

A part of Alaska felt bad for physically abusing the poor guy so much, and then the other part of her had no regrets. She shrugged and went for another Shirley Temple. “Just don’t get drunk or something,” she advised halfheartedly before popping the cherry into her mouth. Her jacket was gone. Her clothes were filled with wrinkles and tatters, but like hell she was going to stand here confused until something else happened. Alaska! I want one too! Nonono wait! Order a baked Alaska! Gyahahaha! Shut your trap, Brat. Let me have my drink in peace.

Sin seemed to mutter something to herself, but her hearing wasn’t that good. Drink in hand, Alaska followed after the other sun hunter and slid into the chair next to him. “And if you actually do hurl next time, don’t expect me to clean it up,” she warned before reaching for an onion ring.
