The Voice. It had been speaking. But it sounded... off. Like someone was cutting the sentences into pieces. A broken message. Why? What the hell was going on here? She'd gotten 'fight' out of what the Voice had said. So was... that it? They just had to continue fighting? Well that much she'd kinda already figured. Since their was still no True King.
Gripping the blades in her hands, Fini stepped forward and faltered in her step. She gasped as a sudden wave of lethargy hit her like a punch to the stomach. What...
"The... hell?" She panted, looking around, eyes widening at the sudden increase in people collapsing. Why?

"Well, in simple terms...we came to save you, the actual you, like Shun said. We're from the real world - the other Xiu's world, and a powerful...being? Priestess? Was able to put us inside the versions of us that you created, so we could bring you back." She explained rather calmly, using soothing hand gestures. Xiu was giving off even more power than she had as the Red King.
"Essentially, we're here to fix this and end the half lives you're all living."

Riley had been the first to go. In fact, she was almost gone, when she realized the two beside her weren't following. She turned, and saw that they had stayed behind to talk to-
Riley just stood there, her shoulders sagging with weariness, and sighed.
When they continued to keep her attention, Riley snuck up behind Xiu. She had nothing to say, yet. She was just listening to the shadow, curious as to why it was trying to figure out the reality of their world, now.
She still wanted it to die.

So they were the faces she had been seeing, the real ones who had been laughing and smiling (...and deadpanning, in Shun's case) with her other self. A part of her was deeply envious of them, of the fact that they existed outside this tiny world, that they had meaning...but she wasn't angry.
There was a moment of pause, and then she sighed, glancing away. She had opened her mouth to say something, only to freeze when she noticed something distinctly purple and tentacle-y behind her. She stared blankly, and then jumped back with a scowl.
"Damnit Riley!" Her eyes, which had widened in shock, quickly slid into slits as she glared at the woman, "What the hell are you trying to--ugh, nevermind."
With a big frown on her face, she turned to face all three of them. "Okay, look. The Voice, or...or well, the one who created us, the fragments. We need to get rid of it." She folded her arms over her chest, closing her eyes for a moment as she tried to recall what exactly she had heard--and seen--upon dying, "Xiu--the real Xiu--is...sleeping somewhere. I don't know where, but there's a risk of her dying in here if things go wrong. ...Did you say you were here to save the others too, by the way?"
So wait, were all the kings really...?

Shun raised an eyebrow at Riley, but then looked back to Xiu, only nodding at first to go along with what Gene was saying. They were here to destroy this world essentially. He was surprised to hear that she knew where the real Xiu was. Sleeping...
Yes. That was right.
"We aren't the only ones like this. They have their own priorities on who to help," he said before grimacing. Though, the mask he wore helped hide such things for the time being, "We shouldn't linger any longer than. As you said, we need to kill the Voice. If you're here to help us, then lets get moving."
Feeling that enough was explained, the Reaper turned and started towards the tower.

Frightening this deadly, more powerful Xiu somehow made Riley feel just a little better about her. Her expression lifted in lieu of a smirk, and she moved around to stand beside the others, her arms folding in front of her with a hesitance. She was looking Xiu up and down, taking stock of everything new about her. She knew she was just a shadow, and she wasn't mad. She was being.. helpful.
Only Xiu.
That's what we're here for. The Voice needs to die. Do you know who it is?
She watched Shun walk off. Well, they certainly knew where it was. But Riley was still remarkably hesitant about just running off without information, for once. This Xiu was special. If anyone had insight, it would be her.

Everything just felt so heavy. Why did she feel so tired? And moving was difficult. It required too much energy. She stumbled towards anyone that was still standing and looked able bodied. But she barely made it beyond where she'd been kneeling. Wait, when had she gone down on a knee?! She couldn't... remember. So tired. There was black dots swimming around her vision. And the already cracking sky looked hazy around the edges.
"No. I... must fight... for my... " Fini felt her legs give out, a strange surreal feeling settling over her as she fell to the ground.
"My.. kingdom... "
And then, only a dark and peaceful oblivion.

Gene nodded in agreement with Shun, affirming that there were others like them, here to save their friends and loved ones.
And that the Voice had to die. She wanted it dead - so very dead.
"Good question, Riley." Gene stated, nodding with an impressed look on her face. Why hadn't she thought of that? (Plus, she scared the now Silver Xiu? Pretty good.)
She stuck around long enough to hear the answer, and made way for the tower.

Arachne had watched as others fought, her first and only attack had been glancing and had done little damage. It hadn't even been retaliated! She felt like a poor warrior, but hadnt given up straight away, she'd looked for an opening, something amid the chaos to do, and time had passed..she wasn't sure how much but then..the Voice.
When it finished speaking, she caught sight of the distant horizon and shuddered, confused as to what was happening. She sunk to the ground, tired suddenly, as exhausted beyond what she felt she had a right to feel.

What had it all been for? Arachne wasn't sure. Everything seemed to be slipping away, and every breath was slower and more laboured. She felt like everything she had striven to do for her Kingdom had been a dream? But no, she was loyal, to her King, and her Kingdom..though it felt to her that she would see neither again.

'My King..' Arachne mouthed the words as she slipped into unconcsiousness. She had made no friends - that hadn't been important to her. She had hoped to serve her Kingdom, but in truth, she had been a poor fighter.
The Voice was the problem with it all. To end the entire facade, Levi dragged herself up to venture towards where the voice was.

So there were others. The Kings then, she presumed, just like her...and from the way Shun worded his answer, she guessed that some of the other Kingdoms' citizens were real as well. It was an interesting revelation, and most definitely a lot to take in, but there wasn't any time to sit around and dwell on this now.
At Riley's question, she simply frowned and shook her head. "Unfortunately, I'm in the dark on that matter as well. I think that we fragments were created with very specific memories in mind. We are filled with false memories to think that we are Kings, soldiers, florists...............virgins." A quick look at Riley, who she lifted her brows at. The corners of her lips quirked upwards ever so slightly--the reality did not even come close to the dream. As she continued, however, her expression became grim again. "But the Voice's true identity was was not something that was ever...'programmed' in us."
If only she knew, though. Perhaps then this task would be made a thousand times easier, but there was little point in dwelling on that now. When Shun ordered them to get moving, the King turned to frown at him, and opened her mouth to say something...only to shut it a moment after. Sighing, she followed after the others, but not before grumbling, "I may not be real, but I'm still a goddamn King in this particular universe."
